Title: Your Biggest Mistakes in Cryptocurrency
Post by: TomPluz on November 05, 2021, 05:18:37 AM
What are your biggest THREE biggest mistakes when getting involved with cryptocurrency so far? We know that cryptocurrency can be so lucrative investment because the whole industry is really growing by leaps and bounds...but there are also perils just waiting to snatch anyone who is not careful. Here are mine:

1. Selling my little hoard of the most popular crypto when the rate was actually down...thinking that it will never be able to recover...this decision put a black eye on my face.

2. Listening to what others are saying when in fact they are just promoting and shilling their favored projects...only to realized that I was actually dealing with "shit" coins.

3. Buying into a P2E project only to see that the devs are not capable enough to handle challenges so that the token went down terribly just leaving me at least 10% of the original value when I get in.

Please share your story...

I think one of the biggest mistakes I have made in the Cryptocurrency industry and in the Cryptocurrency market during my trading and selling of tokens and coins from my wallet occurred because of lack of patience is a mistake of impatience, selling my token before the bull market started is a very big mistake for me in the Cryptocurrency industry.

My biggest mistake in crypto space that I did not sell my altcoins while their prices reaching the all time high. I was a greedy person hoping my altcoins will makes me rich but one day it suddenly dumped. I'm still holding hoping my altcoins to recover but it never recovers so I decided to sell my altcoins at the low price. :(

my biggest mistake is always panicking when the price moves down when it starts to go up, and selling coins too fast,
sometimes I'm too greedy to want to get a profit but I get no results from my greed there is only regret, when the price reaches 30% profit I don't let go for 100% profit

What are your biggest THREE biggest mistakes when getting involved with cryptocurrency so far?

1. Not putting all my money in at the 200 Week Moving Average for Bitcoin in 2019 (~$3K), but this is more of a less to learn for the future rather than dwell on the past  ;)

2. Not sending worthless tokens to an exchange from an ICO investment in 2018, as they then went up 100x in value. At the time due to gas fees the cost of the ERC20 transfer would have been more than the value of the tokens! Ironically, if I had left the tokens on the exchange they would have been swapped for me and could have taken much profit  ::)

3. Not putting more effort into learning blockchain programming and instead spending too much time focusing on trading shitcoins  >:(

It's really sad,  But I think Your story also happened at many people.
Sold bitcoin at 2018, the price is still low. But In our mind, it's to high.
But for now, we all know current  bitcoin price is 60K USD , you will to be millionaire if you have 8 BTC now.
But nevermind, I also sold my Ethereum at 227 USD at the last time.

My big mistake lies in my impatience to keep my assets for a long time, if now I calculate how much I have lost by my stupidity and restlessness, then it becomes uncomfortable ... You must always keep a cool head and not trade on emotions.

Not buying the 50 Bitcoins at the price of 50 € was my biggest mistake. But who knows what would happen at the price of $ 1000. Selling at the 1k would be even more difficult. All of this is just a learning process, or it was one. Now you know a lot more about it, a simple hold would bring the most. Have nothing against regular trading, for which those who know their way around, but holding would be enough. And if you add up your compund interest, that's a lot more you can earn. Unfortunately, many want to become millionaires within the few months and make even bigger mistakes.

My biggest mistakes are As follow:
Holding too long for some project that I have not enough confidence on and at the end, I lost all by the inability of the team to deliver the project as promised.

Secondly, Selling too early when I know that project will great in future. I regretted selling early of some project I invested in. Those project later increase in value after full development.

If i hold that now i were rich man. But for my mistake i could not hold that. Then bitcoin price was $1200 and now bitcoin price is $64000. I Couldn't imagine it. I think that was my great mistake in my hole life.

my main mistake with altcoins is that I don't know how to wait, I have no patience at all, there are a lot of coins that made 1000x a year later, and of course I sold them a long time ago, HODL! that's what's important in cryptocurrency.

1. Not knowing Bitcoin while it was $5 per coin.

2. Don't have money to buy Ethereum when it was below $100 and BNB when it was $10

3. I sold the potential tokens and hold the unproductive one.

Maybe there are some regrets but I think I learn a lot from my mistakes and from missed the opportunity.

I believe your first point will always be most investors' mistake, selling too early while we should be HODLing for a longer time even if the market is not in the position we want. I have learned a lot from past mistakes on this particular issue and I am trying hard to keep my cool when the market is not favorable and of cause investing in what eventually turned out to be a scam project.

my experience, I did a panic sell by selling the coins I had at a low price when the price was down. at that time I was too panicked to see the crypto market is getting down and finally I sold it at a low price. besides that I also missed several moments where the crypto market was going up but I was expecting too high prices and ended up not taking advantage of the moment well. but the existence of these mistakes made me learn more and understand the market situation. I realize that trading or investing requires patience and good analysis in understanding the crypto market.

Since the price of cryptocurrency fluctuates all the time, the level of risk in investing here is the highest. I basically like to invest in the cryptocurrency market the most. I have made many risky investments. I have suffered a lot of times. Some coins have turned into shit coins. And have enjoyed various benefits by trading. Because there is a level of risk, there is still a high risk of profit. So let's trade with cryptocurrency.

Because I lose all my money because I only invest all my money in one coin. I want to give you advice that does not to invest all your money in one coin. Try different coins.

My three biggest mistakes while investing in cryptocurrency is when I lost my patience while holding and selling it, but on the other day the coin/token price was pumped hard but there's nothing I can do but regret, second is because im just easily affected by FUD that triggers premature selling of my newly acquired cryptocurrencies third is when I gamble my crypto on a crypto casino and loss it all.

I think everyone in crypto makes more or less mistakes. I myself have regretted many wrong decisions in the past. I got a token at the beginning of my crypto journey in 2118, I sold it for only $45, that token reached $4500 in a week's time. Recently I had several PBR, DOT, SOL, ADA, PLOOZ tokens. After selling them, the price of each token increased several hundred times. Now I am trying to learn from these mistakes and move forward.

I once had 2 Ethereums in 2019, at that time I sold them because of Fud, that many ICO scams and the price of ethereum will drop to $90, maybe even $20.
But in fact, the price of ethereum is currently at $4.7k and I regret selling my ETH at that time, the conclusion is, don't look at the negative news because it can make you panic, buy the coin and hold it if you think it's a good coin for the long term

A mistake that is often made by me is, I lose faith in a project. this is actually very fatal. because to be honest some of the projects had schedule delays, or technical errors along the way and I really don't like that. And what I didn't realize was that the project team was actually honest and trustworthy, they were trying their hardest to try to resurrect the project. some of the projects I left because I felt unsure were Sfund, DXL, Dag, LTX, BSW, and a few more. try to see how advanced the project is now.
Sorry because I got hit by ruggpull several times so maybe it's still etched in my mind, so that every project must be perfect, if not perfect then it ends up being a scam. so here I am less flexible in applying investment principles

1. Too greedy
This is a very valuable lesson for me. I was too greedy to take profits at that time, I actually has got my target price, but I removed and didn't take profits at that time. And unfortunately the price decreased again and again u til liqudated.
2. Not doing research by own at first
This is also very good experience becayse atvthat time I inlly followed other people in hype coins and I lost much

Negative news is negative effect to your portfolio and to your decision if you allow to be in the circle of panic. I'd also experienced the same as you but not ethereum. I have some bnb before maybe 15 pieces. Sadly I sold them because of negative news and needs for my family. Today BNB is $645 so far from $70. Hold is gold. Hold the promising and never regret.

You don't have to regret it Bro, because I believe at that time you were in need of money and did not expect the price of Bitcoin to be as high as it is today.  If we remember the past, it feels very painful and what we have is that we will always wish.
I once lost Crypto assets, but not because I sold them cheaply. But because I entered a fake site, and finally my data was stolen and I lost an asset which at that time was worth quite a lot.

My mistake in cryptocurrencies is while trading I don't bother to take profit at the appropriate time while having the impression that the price will continue to move to my advantage due to greediness, lo and hold l got punished for this and incur several losses, infact losing some reasonable amount of profits, however
I have learnt my lessons and take profits appropriately no matter how small the profit is, to avoid a repeat of my past mistakes 'half a loave of bread is better than none'

My biggest mistake is not seeing the renewal of the coins I have, I used to hold ULTRA coins and now the team has converted the coins to UOS, as you know, swap fees on the ethereum network are very expensive, so I can't do it for now.

my next experience is, lack of experience in investing, from several ICO projects that I participated, everything is a scam, it happened because the tokens I have are listed on Dex exchanges like etherdelta and forkdelta.
from here I get a lot of experience not to repeat the mistakes I've ever had.

I have repeated this error many times, namely having Crypto tokens or coins and not selling them when the price is high.  Hoping the price continues to rise by holding the coin, but what happens? The price actually went down and didn't want to go up again, so my chance to get big profits failed and was wasted in vain.  This is the biggest mistake in me, because it turns out I often repeat it many times.

My big mistake was not understanding the rules of the crypto market. I held many tokens with no value and their price dropped 50-100 times after the winter of 2018-2019. Things were actually a lot tougher than I imagined.

I'm confused if this is a small or big mistake, but I once lost control of my emotions, our market is being dumped, my mentality has plummeted and my patience has run out. So I took a rash route without thinking about it, namely selling coins at a low price. After the coins were sold at a low price, suddenly the market conditions gradually stabilized. Seeing this I was very disappointed, even though it was only a few steps but I myself destroyed it. I hope something like this will not happen again for me or anyone else.

My biggest mistake is I came to know about crypto 6-7 years back but did not trust a single percent that time that it can be very huge in the coming years. We all make mistakes when we start anything new. The same thing happen to me when I started cryptos. I always sell the coins when they start rising I was quite impatient so I sold very early most of the time in my early days of crypto. 2 years back I have 50,000 Dogecoin but I sold before the Doge bull run starts. I sold my all Dogecoin approx 24-26 satoshi price at that time now whenever I think about my dogecoin I feel very bad for myself that I missed a big chance to make a huge profit so I learned from my experience patience is a must in the crypto trading If you don't have patience certainly this is not a good market for you.

I think my biggest mistake is selling coins at the wrong moment. Of course, I try not to make such mistakes anymore, but so far I have been bad at it.

As a newbie in the crypto space, I made loads of mistakes and till now, I regret my actions.

My first major mistake was not taking my time to ensure I learn about cryptocurrency before engaging in it and it costed me a lot. I did loads of wrong trades and lost a lot of money

The main mistake that still hurts me till now is investing in projects without potentials or utilities. it costed me a lot as well, I remember when I was told of a really fine project Bitay, it had everything it takes, a good exchange, a token with utilities, P2E, NFTs, make it, a complete package but I chose to invest in some useless tokens and I lost a lot.

Although I have corrected my mistakes and getting better with time

My mistake is just the same as yours, my most expensive mistake which I still regret till today is selling off all my 28 eth at the rate of $200 usd each in August 2020, and just about 3 months down the line, the bull market started and eth price skyrocketed, I felt like killing myself then, but I've learnt in the hardest way.

Many people did same like you, at the beginning of bitcoin and altcoin.
They doubt about the progress of crypto.
Me too, I also sold Ethereum at 93 USD at Dec 2018.
If I remember it, It's annoyed.
But I think It's just  process for us to believe on the crypto progress.
Maybe not only us, many people also have the same fate, maybe we call bad luck. lol...

My biggest mistake in cryptocurrency was ignoring the trends. I remember when Ethereum and Defi was trending everywhere, I ignored till it boomed and I still regret it till this moment. That’s why I am not allowing that happen again. Since web3 has been making the trends, I have taken my time to look for web 3 projects with legit utility. I came across Unilab which has been pretty cool for the fact that they have made creation of smart contract and web 3 very easy without glitches. I will keep researches on web3 so I won’t miss out from any, Ulab is already in my bags

Everyone sure have one mistakes or the other but the plus is realizing the mistakes and getting on with it.
My personal mistakes is not investing in Unilab projects on time as will soon lead the hype in the blockchain industry.

Unilab is presenting an amazing smart contracts platform for web 3.0. the contract will automatically execute its protocols.Because smart contracts are digital its business protocols are automated; there is no paperwork to process and researching renewal dates.

Community driven projects with good utilities

I've had a ridiculous experience with cryptocurrencies and that's purely my own fault.
I have sold a very valuable token now for the reason that before there was no interest and I rashly did not read the Whitepaper.
I have token A and sold it at a cheap price which only got 60 USD, but if I sold it now I might get around 4000 USD, what a ridiculous share!! Dammnnn !!

I trade on Futures and let my assets hit Liquid.
I studied futures since I didn't have any big assets and I felt it was a shortcut.
It turned out that it was wrong, I made a mistake in trading futures, I lost 1 EThereum and that was when the Ethereum price was at 1500 USD and I regretted it a long time ago.

Like everyone else, unfortunately, there are often such moments when I sell cryptocurrencies and within a couple of days or a maximum of weeks, these same cryptocurrencies begin to grow very strongly in price and this, unfortunately, still happens, of course it has become easier to deal with this but it still hurts at times.

Selling coins that have been held for a long time at a low price, and after that the price goes up high. That's what I've experienced, and the amount is not small if I sell it a week later. Second, I've lost assets in the Im-Token wallet before, I don't know where the problem is suddenly all the assets in the Wallet are sent to a new wallet by itself without me knowing it.

Yeah, we have sold valuable tokens at low prices.
Because we didn't have good prediction this coins will have great future.
That's normal, dude.
Crypto currency is unpredictable, No one can predict the future accurately.
So, we should divide, hold 50% and sell 50%.

One of my mistake in the crypto space is ignoring trends. This made me miss out from ETH, Shib, dogecoin and the rest. This time around, I have vowed not to miss out from metaverse. I already have excellent metaverse projects in my bags like $Arcade, my bags is fully loaded with it. It’s only a matter of time for metaverse to explode

It is important to see trends at the nascent stage, and not after the fact...you can only hope for cyclicity and only believe that the metaverses will grow again

What you have said about terra luna is true but the QUA price is not that good I can see how this was your loss? You probably got your token from the bounty campaign so every cent you got from here is your gain. I saw QUA listed in MXC with a lower price than its sale. Later it traded below its listing price which is not a good thing.

Patience is a problem whenever I have large amount of tokens, I have a lot of friends on social media and telegram, they and I share information about new projects and buy some tokens for long and short term investment.
After the token price went up 5x I sold it and a few months later the token price went up 10x, this is where I regret selling the token too fast, I was looking for a token with liquidity under $10k usd and I made a profit, but some other tokens lost ended up in rugpull by mistake I am in viewing the information of the token which has no utility.

Experience is the biggest tool to get the best in crypto trading/investments. As an investor, you must understand the project you are about to investing and the potential for future growth and developments. I had done some investments without proper research of the future market value developments.
To trade efficiently, you need a good knowledge of the market, a very good experienced on TA, FA to make good profit. Though crypto seems very difficult to predict but the a good experience of the market help to maximize profits and reduce losses.

My Biggest mistake of cryptocurrency is sell my 8 BTC. in 2018 when btc price was $4000 per btc then i was bought 8 BTC. but for my mistake i was sell them for $5000 per btc. If one I had that bitcoin till now. then It would have changed my life

Even you sell at 5000$ per Bitcoin during the time of 2018, you still got earned from that value though its not that huge in the price we have it now in the market, at least you got learned from your mistakes even me, I regret selling my coins during 2018 as well where I sell my coins at the price of 0.01$ then after 1 year in which is 2019 it went up into 0.4$ each token, but that's life I can't go back in the past to correct it.

I've had the wrong error logging into a coin that doesn't have progress, with $6000 money so far I'm stuck and don't know if I can get that money back or not, I use this experience for a very important lesson so as much as possible to don't do it again.
