Title: The Day I Lost My ETH
Post by: TomPluz on December 01, 2021, 03:21:57 AM

I lost my last remaining 2 Eth due to a big mistake I made. This happened sometime last year 2020 I think around June. At that time I decided to transfer my Eth from a wallet called as Coins.PH to another exchange MXC and I then assumed that it would be an ordinary transfer like we usually know...the mistake that got into me is that MXC is not accepting any Eth transfer coming from a wallet which is using smart contract address which Coins.PH do. I tried to contact the MXC support and they particularly asked me something which I can then get from Coins.PH but sadly the latter could not supply what was needed.

Oh 2 Eth? that's a big lost.. Never thought that some exchanges will not accepts using smart contract address.. Thanks for sharing this info, I noted this in my mind because I usually use coins.ph to withdraw my tokens and I rarely transfer my funds to the exchanges..

I'm sorry, of course, the loss is not small in total, especially with the growing airwaves.
I understand that the exchange that accepted this transaction does not support smart contracts? If so, where did the tokens go? I didn’t fully understand your story ... They were still hanging somewhere?

Sorry for the lost. I equally lost big amount of GAMB(GMB) token. I was to transfer my GAMB from Kucoin to DigiFinex and I never knew that I mistakenly copy the wallet of another GMB(GMB) Token from the DigiFinex exchange. It was after transferring the token that knew that it was a different project. I complained to the both exchange and they couldn't help.

sorry, I'm sorry for the loss of your 2 ETH, what I'm confused about is where did the money go, is this a weakness in the crypto system, if the address is wrong, the money can't be returned?
try the system in this crypto, if the address is wrong, we can return the funds we transferred

Learn from mistake. Before doing big transaction make sure to try smaller one just to make sure everything will flow smoothly. This is the step to greater transactions to avoid big loses.

Btw, we are all learning from our mistakes. The good thing is we didn't give up.

It's a huge loss if we calculate the Ethereum value at the current price it would be a big amount but I always suggest everyone first make a small transaction to confirm that you are using the right address to transfer your coins to avoid such loss. I always follow this way. Anyways we all learn from our mistakes and experiences.

I guess every one of us here is experiencing that kind of a missed, But sometimes it's our own fault because we don't read or understand the rules and warning correctly even me many times has lost in the deposit mostly in exchange because I did not take it seriously anyway I believe that those experiences of mistakes will serves its purpose to do it better next time.

Some exchanges or wallets are simply too shady. Why can't Coins.ph supply the said information? Don't they realize how much you are losing? And can't MXC help out?

The motive would be unreasonable. The victim lost something big enough to buy a house and lot base on his geographical location. And yet the other side never put some attention that they should be for their costumer. MXC and Coins.Ph should help to protect their principle, values and integrity.

You know what I'm thinkin is the silent greediness on whosoever is responsible to help and could solve the case.

If this is the matter, why did not you double check the MXC deposit option, where they mentioned the address of eth from where you want to sent it. If MXC support the eth smart contract address, they can refund it to you with some information. But if they have no function like this then you are having much trouble  too.
