Can anyone tell me why Bitcoin is always on top rank of all the coins?
There are several altcoins Ethereum,Ripple,Litecoin,Dash coin then why these coins are not coming at First rank? These coins have potential to grown then why not these coins are not to be first rank?
Can I get some reasons why?

Because bitcoin is king of all coins. It is the first and well known that can hit big price in the market field. Many people in cryptoworld have tried the good benefits that can bitcoin gives. And a lot of people too will choose handle the bitcoin in the future.

Because it is unstable and creates always new opportunities to risk and earn. People like to risk thats why they invest in bitcoin. Easy as that.

Bitcoins derive their value high just as anything else does: because people want them. Like any other currency, bitcoin follows the basic rules of supply and demand. Currencies have always been useful tools to make trade easier, enabling holders to convert goods into a widely tradable commodity through sale, then use the proceeds of that sale to purchase nearly anything they wish. That why its always the 1st rank in the market.

Just wait and see and players like Ethereum or EOS will take a lead in this race. Of course it will take some times but they are on the right track.

Bitcoin is First because it was the first cryptocurrency in the world. Most TV channels, Blogs, Newspapers wrote and talk about BTC, not ETH or Neo. It is known to most common people, so they buy it that why it is First.

Today it is on the st place tomorrow Ethereum might become a leader. Never underestimate your competition and fight till the last breath.

I think the main reason why he is always on rank1 in crypto currency is her price. Bitcoin is the biggest price of all.

Bitcoin has the comfort of not being a security first of all.. its also 10 years running without a single hack and very limited attacks on the network... some of its biggest flaws are also what makes it decentralized and secure.. Ethereum has several bugs, they had a bug last year that froze 300 million in funds until they fork again... Ripple is just LOL when it comes to dev team supply, and bitcoin cash is just a bandaid to bitcoin where its not fast enough for long term with all the negatives of being more centralized. I think bitcoin is number 1 and will remain there.

On what basis is the ranking. If ithis is perfect market cap and value,then Btc will always be ranked first per the current status of all coins. But there can be another ranking based of other factors such like say speed of transactions etc. In such cases I think some other altcoins will be ranked higher than btc

If I'm not mistaken the basis of bitcoin as the number one at all time was the authentication of bitcoin from alts. What I mean is bitcoin was the first created coin that deals to decentralized and virtual currency. Being the founder of crypto, bitcoin should be given respect at all time.

I would agree. being a liaison between USD and alts is Bitcoin's biggest use case.. a currency however it is not... atleast imo.. I still think we can go to 250k per BTC with it just being for alts and a digital store of value.

As bitcoin is the first of all the currency that has been made and he also controls everything like a brain and all its surrounding currency and also the altcoins that even drops him all down.And the other way the bitcoin is like a mother and the other currency is like a baby of the mother bitcoin.
