One thing I realize with this ongoing debate on the use of big amount of energy by Bitcoin mining is that it depends on which side of the isle are you in. For people who are convinced that Bitcoin is revolutionary and can be contributing a lot of value for humankind, the gargantuan use of power to mine and confirm transactions can be justifiable. However, for people who sees nothing in value with Bitcoin this can just be another waste of resources which can be allocated to other more useful industries. Good to see that there is now a big trend for miners to tap into green and renewable source of energy just like what El Salvador is doing with geothermal-sourced electricity.
