Title: Pakistan to investigate Binance for multi-million dollar crypto scam
Post by: codehash on January 09, 2022, 01:14:08 PM
Pakistan‘s Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) reportedly issued a formal notice to crypto exchange Binance in an effort to identify links around a multi-million crypto scam in the region.

The government of Pakistan started a criminal investigation after receiving numerous complaints against an ongoing scam that involved misleading investors into sending funds from Binance wallets to unknown third-party wallets. According to local coverage, the FIA’s Cyber Crime Wing has issued an order of attendance to Binance Pakistan’s general manager Hamza Khan to identify the exchange’s link to “fraudulent online investment mobile applications.”

Victims of this should act fast and report their case to [email protected]. Please be careful of who you invest your money with. Most investment companies out there are scams no matter how legit they seem.

I am sure that Pakistan authorities can get the cooperation they can be asking for Binance because this is one platform that has nothing to hide. Let's hope that this can be an eye-opener to Pakistan people that anybody can be using any exchange for scam purposes...maybe they should be implementing a more thorough KYC requirements for people who are using the platform so as to weed out scammers and evil people away from the system - though admittedly this is hard to do than say.
