Title: Do you think ICOs will be declared officially dead?
Post by: Domithra on June 06, 2018, 10:04:21 AM
For ICOs to be declared officially dead seems impossible but regulations will be put on ICOs in order to check their progress to avoid the issue of terrorism funding and Money laundering. Even in the event of ICOs declared dead, there can be token sales. what do you think?

This is something that should be considered, crowdfunding terrorism and other illicit organisation without even knowing about it...
I think ICO teams and members should properly scrutinise. this should go beyond pictures and video but also to a security agencies knowing who they are and profiling them just in case they intend to misuse funds.

ICO scammers make away with thousands and millions of dollars without revealing their identity.

Not quite long i found out that a project i was promoting just disappeared into thin air after collecting over 500k usd.

I was furious because i just wasted my time

I think regulations on ICOs will help a lot. Many ICO turn up to be scams everyday and this declines the growth of Cryptos because this makes people lose interest and investors loose their money and lose interest in investing in other ICO. The stress of finding a credible ICO sometimes is a heavy burden

I don't think that regulations will play any roll in cryptos  development, rather it creates centralized ecosystem which is while the cryptocurrency economy are decentralized and can't be dead.
ICOs, is an unregulated means by which funds are raised for a new cryptocurrency venture. An Initial Coin Offering (ICO) is used by startups to bypass the rigorous and regulated capital-raising process required by venture capitalists or banks.
I think ICO will not be dead or declared dead.

I think purpose KYC in each ICO is to avoid the case you mentioned as action funding terrorism and money laundering.

No one has the right to officially declare ICO projects dead. And this will not happen, even if there was such an opportunity. I think that in the near future most states will regulate this process and therefore the popularity of ICO will increase. Already, France, Japan, Russia, and China have already announced the development of relevant regulations for such regulation.

ICOs won't go away for as long as there are more and more legitimate companies run by teams of experienced experts. A good example is VLUX - http://vlux.io/ (http://vlux.io/)

I dont think so. ICOs regulations help a lot in terms of digital currency. Althoug many ICOs are scammed there are still want to invest and ready to take risk in investing in every coin in ICOs. So i dont see any reasons why ICOs declared dead.

No, I don't think so. There are many ICOs coming out right now and some are really good if you only know how to choose the right one. Personally I'm into this green project called VLUX, a peer-to-peer energy trading startup. They'll be having their main sale next month and I'm excited. Find out more on their website https://vlux.io/

The fact that some ICOs are scams doesn't mean all ICOs are bad. There are good ones also. Its a matter of taking your time to search for the good ones. Some come with promising projects which must be supported to move to the moon.
