After the commotion that we have seen in recent days with the possible legalization of cryptocurrencies in India with a very high tax of 30%, now it is Russia that takes a step and instead of banning cryptocurrencies as we could read a few days ago in some news , now the finance minister, Anton Siluanov, suggests that the banks can sell them. The news changes course very quickly, as happened with the case of India months ago.
More information in the following article: https://www.coindesk.com/policy/2022/02/03/russias-minister-of-finance-suggests-letting-banks-sell-crypto-report/
What do you think the Russian government will do?.

I think that information of Central Bank of Russian Federation about forbidding of crypto was foolish. After that the president, Medvedev, some deputies, Ministry of Finance told that it is necessary to regulate crypto, but not forbid. May be they will let sell crypto in banks, but we will know exactly when we will see the new law this year.

We have new news about what I wrote in the OP of this thread. It seems that next February 18, a draft will be presented to legalize Bitcoin (and cryptocurrencies) in Russia. This is a complete change from the news we were able to read a few weeks ago that Russia was going to ban cryptocurrencies. It seems that the Russian government has thought better of it and has taken into account the large amount of money that they can receive in taxes each year if the draft is finally approved.

Yes, good news continues to come from Russia. It seems that the Russian government has found common ground with the Central Bank, and this bank also agrees to legalize the circulation of cryptocurrency and even recognize it as a means of payment. Apparently, this news will give an incentive for price growth in the cryptocurrency market.

It is possible, maybe the news of the ban on cryptocurrencies in Russia was a test to check the reaction of public opinion and possible statements by the governments of other countries, after the latest news I can't find another logical explanation. Anyway I don't understand that "strategy" on the part of the Russian government, if their intention is to allow banks to sell crypto they could have been clear from the beginning, but I imagine that with the current problems with NATO everything is politics and must be part of a plan.
