Another tactic i've noticed are scammers trying to profit off the new craze of the day. The other day was bitcoin and it's meteoric rise and began seeing bitcoin derivatives with some sort of adjective after bitcoin. This one is trying to leech off the kitty craze with their own worthless crap and ofcourse, donation soliciting.
