Title: Russian government official calls to legalize mining ‘as soon as possible’
Post by: Freemind on March 28, 2022, 05:06:14 PM
Shortly after statements by a part of the Russian government that the country would accept Bitcoin as a payment method for oil and gas, a representative of the Russian government says that it would be necessary to create laws and allow mining of Bitcoin and altcoins as soon as possible. Something that a sector of the government did not like very much.

What is your opinion on these new statements?.

To reduce the risks associated with the introduction of cryptocurrency in the country. I have long believed that mining is allowed in Russia. Neighboring countries, take the same Kazakhstan, are engaged in mining operations, where mining is taxed. Earlier, the President of Russia, Putin, said in his interview that bitcoin could be considered as an asset investment. These are positive trends to consider bitcoin, for the benefit of the state, to the same users of bitcoin.

Good news, after we heard  the Russian government accepted bitcoin for gas and oil payment, we're hearing about this.
Russia government will legalize mining, It's nice to see.
I think the big country such as Russia do well.
Hopefully other countries will accept and legalize bitcoin and altcoin too.
It will have good effect for crypto market.
Because I think crypto is the future technology, why we must refuse it.

Bitcoin mining can be a good alternative way for the Russian government to get the funding it needs for the war. Though this is sad to me as this will never make Bitcoin palatable to the taste of some, I always remind myself that Bitcoin is apolitical and amoral or agnostic meaning it will not decide which side is right or wrong in any issue. Let's hope that after the wat, both Russia and Ukraine can become active partners of the cryptocurrency industry and not just at this time of difficulties and extraordinary times.

I don't know what others will think, but I think the Russian government is doing this so quickly out of necessity. The sanctions that Russia has received from many countries are causing the country to fall into an economic crisis that can last a long time, that is why the government needs to sell oil and gas accepting any type of payment and legalize crypto mining, so as not to be completely isolated. If they finally accept payments for services in Bitcoin and approve crypto mining, we will see how far the value of Bitcoin can go.

The appeals of individual officials in Russia mean nothing. They will do what their tsar Putin says. And he says a lot and contradictory, and does even less. Therefore, in fact, there is no good news regarding cryptocurrency in Russia. No one is going to use bitcoin or any other cryptocurrency to accept payment for Russian oil and gas. It was also an opinion that was immediately refuted by the Central Bank of Russia. Under the conditions of unprecedented international sanctions, when Russia is faced with the task of preventing the outflow of capital, no one there will legalize its free circulation.

If the Russian government finally legalizes cryptocurrency mining, you may be in some kind of trouble with your good friend, China, we all know what the Chinese government has done since 2013 against Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies in general. If now the Russian government approves mining, they may receive more international sanctions as many countries could claim that the Russian government wants to use cryptocurrencies to avoid all existing sanctions.

It's a welcome step by the Russian government even it will help to increase the mining in Russia even Russia is doing this because of lots of sanctions on his country so they are looking for more revenue so they will hopefully legalize mining.

Of course, because the Russian government must immediately be able to overcome the embargo which is expected to be prolonged, of course this is one of the steps that must be taken, although many may not agree because of the problems that triggered the mining.
you are right mate that this is one of the Russian ways to be able to increase income if it is needed so that it legalizes mining.

Separate appeals of Russian officials mean nothing. There, the Central Bank takes a tough stance of banning everything related to cryptocurrency. Considering that these events took place in March, and now it is already July, that is, almost four months have already passed, but no action has been taken after these calls, and I think that there will not be. In Russia, there are problems stronger than cryptocurrencies, and they are connected with the aggression against Ukraine and the international sanctions that followed after that. The Russian economy is more and more flying into the abyss. Let's see if there will be up to cryptocurrency.

I agree with what you say, but in this case both things have a point of union. The Russian economy, contrary to what the Russian media would have us believe, is in very bad shape and will get worse in the coming weeks/months. When all countries apply 100% sanctions against Russia, a possible escape route could be cryptocurrencies, that is why they have not yet made a decision about it, and if the Russian government were to eventually accept crypto in one form or another, the country could face new sanctions.

it seems that all countries, especially the European Union, really want to embargo on Russia, but there are still many European countries that are dependent on Russia, this is what makes the European Union countries split into two and not at all unanimous to do that.
Indeed, in a situation like this, there is a lot of dependence on both Russia and Ukraine, if the two countries also find it difficult to carry out their activities, it is certain that many countries will be affected.

Russia with oil, gas which is mostly shipped to Europe, and Ukraine with wheat where currently the shipments are not going well because Russia closed the waters of Ukraine.
actually it is the ego of each country's leaders who do not see the suffering of the civilian population affected, and it is clear that the people who are most directly affected are the Ukrainian people and this will probably also happen to the Russian people later.
it is more important to sit down together to resolve the ego in order for peace to occur.

crypto will probably sort things out in russia but keep in mind that they have a supportive partner too, namely china which has always been the US enemy in trade. Russia feels confident that China will help them even if crypto can't solve the problem.

The Russian economy continues to fall, and over time, this fall will only intensify. Sanctions continue to gain momentum, and therefore the attitude towards cryptocurrency will change there, and I think not for the better. Cryptocurrency enables citizens to get away from the harsh measures that are being taken and will still be applied in the Russian economy. This will determine the attitude of the Russian government towards the cryptocurrency itself. Therefore, I do not expect the adoption of laws there that would ensure its free circulation.

yes, you are right mate, it is natural for Russia to legalize mining because Russia is a country that we know as a fairly large crypto user. but we also know that previously Russia had refused and did not allow it, but now there is a change. Is this because of the effect of their intervention that made European countries embargo?

it could be that Russia has to prepare itself if in the end they are affected by the embargo, so they have the option to re-legalize their mining.
it should not be because of the embargo but because they are natural as a developed country and there are many crypto users so that the state is obliged to provide facilities for its citizens.

we'll see what happens next hopefully this doesn't change and stays consistent.

It is possible that in Russia they will not yet prohibit the mining of cryptocurrency. It's not there yet. Now about 85 percent of the entire Russian army is located on the territory of Ukraine, and this army is being defeated by the Armed Forces of Ukraine and its people. In the south of Ukraine, units of the 49th and 22nd armies of Russia, numbering approximately 25,000 people, were actually surrounded. They are pressed against the Dnieper River, and the retreat bridges are under the fire control of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. This happened due to the fact that Putin's ambition did not allow him to give the order for a timely retreat on this sector of the front, and instead he ordered to strengthen the grouping of Russians. But Putin cannot repeal the laws of war. No matter how many troops Putin sends there, they all end up in a mousetrap under fire control, without a supply of ammunition and equipment. Therefore, the Armed Forces of Ukraine allowed the Russians to transfer additional troops there, removing them from the Donetsk and Izyum directions, and finally destroying bridges and crossings behind them with precise strikes. August promises to be catastrophic for the Russian army. Unlike Russians, Ukrainians fight professionally and inventively.

Since Russia is becoming more and more isolated from the civilized world with the strengthening of the imposed sanctions, it would even be logical if they would ban cryptocurrency at all so that capital would not leave the country uncontrollably.

Perhaps the reason for the extravagance of energy payments is one of the right reasons, as we know that mining requires a large amount of electricity, resulting in a lack of environmental friendliness.

This is a positive update for cryptospace but then again, right now that country does not deserve the benefit that comes with this technology. It's sad that they can actually do it because no body can stop them from utilizing decentralized finance.

I do not think that in Russia now there will be time to devote to the issue of cryptocurrency mining. Now, after the unleashing of a pro-haat war in Ukraine, the actual military defeat in this war and the imposition of international sanctions, which all together lead Russia to an economic and political collapse, there is an urgent question of what to do next and how to survive in this most difficult situation created by them.
Cryptocurrency can be given attention there in terms of its complete ban in order to avoid the current drain of people and capital from the country. Every month, citizens are now withdrawing more than four billion dollars from Russia.

It will actually be a boost to the crypto community to enhance the acceptability of the technology. I think they are doing this to salvage their economy which is at the edge of collapsing as a result of the war with Ukraine. The sanction on them makes them think of alternatives to salvage their economy.

If Russia resumes its crypto mining, and crypto trading, the demand for crypto coins will increase again in the virtual market. This can be a potential good indicator that crypto prices will soon come back to normal, or, it may go in a gradual bullish trend after the recent crypto fall, as the demand will become at par, or increase compared to the supply.

it seems that the Russian government has issued a law not to accept crypto to be able to carry out activities there, obviously this confuses crypto users there, because we know Russia is a country with the largest crypto users.
because the law has been enacted, there is no other alternative and any acceptable reason, because violations will be subject to sanctions. we will wait for the latest news from Russia after the implementation of the ban takes place.

In Russia, there are now big global problems associated with a military defeat in an attempt to occupy Ukraine. After the successful counter-offensive of the Ukrainians in the Kharkiv direction and the encirclement of the 20,000-strong group of elite Russian troops in southern Ukraine, where the invaders were cut off from the supply of ammunition and equipment and pressed against the Dnieper River, Russia's image is falling and the prospect of Russia's surrender in this war is becoming more and more clear. Russia is threatened with disintegration into separate republics. What Russia tried to do artificially in Ukraine can now really arise in Russia itself. And this means that the Putin regime may not be up to cryptocurrency.

The Russian government has always sought to prevent its citizens from using cryptocurrency in the country. In the case of cryptocurrency mining, something similar can happen. That is, the people can be deprived of the right to mine, obliging them to perform various licensing actions that will only be possible for certain categories of privileged classes. At the same time, in the draft law, the central bank is trying to prohibit the use of mined cryptocurrency in the country. It is necessary to expect when the government will change in Russia, because under the current one, people are worried about the rights of citizens only in words.

I think Russia has a very large crypto community and the government will not prohibit miners from doing activities in the country, from the available data, Russia has more than 10 Bitcoin ATMs and Bitcoin Tellers https://coinatmradar.com/country/177/bitcoin -atm-russian-federation/ this is good for ease of transactions, ownership of Russian gas and energy is also very large, so it's good if miners get a place that can support energy to drive millions of GPUs as a mining tool.

I was confused with the title that Russia is set to legalize cryptocurrency mining soon and yet the remarks by Evgeny Grabchak, the Russian Deputy Minister of Energy, was made during the first national conference of legal crypto miners in Irkutsk in Russia itself. So is cryptocurrency mining illegal in Russia at this point? If it is illegal, why are there legal crypto miners? If it is legal, why the call for the legalization of crypto mining? And this is not the only time I have heard of crypto mining in Russia.

The bill on the legalization of cryptocurrency mining has been submitted to the State Duma of Russia. In principle, cryptocurrency mining can be legalized, but the Central Bank wants to introduce a number of restrictive measures, including banning the use of mined cryptocurrency in Russia. As far as I know, now the issue with mining has not yet been regulated by law.
But now global events are taking place in Russia that are connected with the war in Ukraine. Perhaps there will be no time for cryptocurrency mining.

Legalizing Cryptocurrency mining which of course is an additional tax for the state.
Regulations made in Russia will certainly be like that because the more mining, the more income funds.
I'm on the fair side, if Russia blocks cryptocurrencies, yes, yes, and if they legalize it, go ahead because cryptocurrencies are decentralized.

I don't believe Russian government will legalize bitcoin mining, I think Russian will follow China and other that banned bitcoin mining.
Maybe Russian will accept bitcoin as payment but not for mining.

I don't think it will be legal to mine russian mining, but for payments it can be said yes like elsavador, but we'll see the results of the russian government's decision in this case, we all hope that everything will be resolved peacefully without any war like today

This is good news in terms of the legalization of mining, that's just what kind of coin to mine when the market fell, and not only the market fell and the price of video cards, too, and that's good.

Russia is currently facing many problems due to the attack on Ukraine, due to which they are also facing sanctions from all over the world, its government is now on its own so it would do anything possible to stay financially strong.

What is your opinion on these new statements?.

it sounds good, but I think It's impossible to happen.
I don't believe russian government will legalize bitcoin mining.
Russian and Chinese are the best friend, we know Chinese government against the bitcoin mining and refused it.
So I think Russian government will be.

Not only that but what will they be mining for while Ethereum has now closed their mining and switched to other networks, whereas if you want to do mining then only Bitcoin is left which might be a bit profitable but must be reconsidered with the high cost. There are and the results are obtained because it takes a very long time to get the capital back.
