One of two biggest events in the history of humanity that we recently encountered are surely affecting and can be game-changing the blockchain and cryptocurrency and I am talking on the pandemic and the ongoing invasion of Ukraine by Russian forces. These two will have far-reaching impacts on the blockchain and how it will be utilized for different purposes. Hopefully, the changes can be be for good and not for the other way around.

Any war leads to mass destruction and killings of people. Russia, after unsuccessful attempts to quickly seize the territory of Ukraine, began to use the tactics of general terror: it destroys the civilian population and destroys the settlements of Ukraine to the maximum, that is, it conducts a complete genocide of the Ukrainian people and Ukraine as a state. Everything that can be taken out is plundered and taken out from Ukraine. At the same time, Russia is gaining the audacity to officially declare a note of protest if shelling of ammunition depots and oil depots located near the border regions of Russia is carried out from the territory of Ukraine.
The general impoverishment of territories will certainly affect everything, including cryptocurrency. How deep it will be, only time will tell.

Without a doubt, blockchain technology will continue to develop during the war unleashed in Ukraine by Russian aggression. In Ukraine, with the help of this technology, various information bases are now being actively introduced, allowing the Armed Forces of Ukraine to receive information online about the movement of Russian troops and equipment, report missing people, damage caused by Russians, and so on. But in Russia itself, probably, the problems are already more serious, and it will probably not be up to blockchain technology. I do not think that they will count the amount of stolen property in Ukraine. Russians may soon gradually forget about laptops and iPhones. High technology may soon be unavailable or limited to this country.
