Title: USA seize $34 million worth of crypto assets.
Post by: Istiak on April 06, 2022, 07:32:43 PM
Recently USA has seized $34 million worth of crypto assets which was accrued by a scammer through dark web. He was using a service called "trumbler" similar to "blender" and "chain hoping" to cover his tracks. But Fed caught that suspect but there is no mention about who that person is.

My point in here is its not that easy to cover your track fully so scammers should be more careful. Also if regulation and tax implemented then users have to do KYC so this type of illegal activity should stop now.

The internet is the perfect environment for scammers to acquire assets, then crypto is the way they use it to launder money easily, especially through the anonymous transactions of privacy coins. Everyone should be careful and protect their own property against internet attacks!

Good to know that Fed caught the scammers, it's really difficult to track the scammers especially they using the services to cover it.. The scammers are ruining the image of cryptocurrency.
I'm really against the KYC for crypto but if it is for preventing illegal activities then I go for it.

Most projects dont need the KYC like they present it and at the end the private information are sold out. Sometimes I feel IDO would have given a safer platform for crowdfunding but the influence of VCs in the space is getting overwhelming on  delivery of the projects

I always get a bit chuffed whenever a criminal is caught, whether crypto or mainstream. I mean, they have caused a lot of pain and sorrow to hard working folks like me. So its a goos thing

In the coming years, am expecting that there can be more effective technologies that can go after these scammers, fraudsters which are now making cryptocurrency their preferred paradise of choice because it is becoming easy for them to do their tricks of victimizing people. Right now, because humans re greedy, people can easily be fooled to join and do things that can endanger their own finances. This has to stop and we must be helping the effort of the government to stop these people from inflecting more pain and losses.
