Title: Water great idea! Bitcoin mining heats this swimming pool
Post by: crypto samuel on April 08, 2022, 10:08:00 AM
A Bitcoiner has "pooled" off another mining innovation. The 'waste' heat generated by mining Bitcoin (BTC) is used to warm his swimming pool.

Bitcoin enthusiast Jonathan Yuan had kids who “love swimming, but the year before [he started using waste heat], they barely ever did it because it was always too cold for them.” Fortunately, he was interested in Bitcoin mining and understood that Bitcoin mining emits a lot of heat.

Yuan told Cointelegraph that he purchased a “heat exchanger and setup some ASICs,”  (application-specific integrated circuits), and subsequently managed to keep “the pool above 90F all summer.”

The process works by immersion,  which simultaneously cools the ASICs while "reclaiming that waste heat and putting it to practical applications such as heating living/working spaces, pools, or anything that could benefit from up to 60C/140F of heat."

This is actually a very good idea as the waste product of the crypto mining which is essentially heat can be utilized for another purpose which at the end means nothing is really wasted. I think I heard of the same thing before...and this is very useful in places which can be cold as people would love to be heated or in this case to swim in a pool with acceptable temperature. What is amazing is that these days people are finding ways to use resources that are available for their own good.

Previously, there have already been reports that during the mining of cryptocurrency, the generated heat was used as heating for heating batteries. Yes, this heat can be used for any consumer needs. Why just release it into the atmosphere when you can use it to good use. Miners should think about this.
