Large-scale Ethereum hackathon ETHWaterloo has just concluded. The creator of Ethereum, Vitalik Buterin, made an appearance in his former university town of Waterloo, Canada, and offered his thoughts about one of the ecosystem’s most interesting phenomena, tokens.
“It is an established fact that ninety percent of startups fail,” said Buterin when moderator William Mougayar asked if there is too much emphasis on tokens in the ecosystem right now. “And it should also be an established fact that ninety-percent of these ERC20s on CoinMarketCap are going to go to zero.”

There has been a lot of ICO's recently. Their websites and whitepapers read well but if you ask would I need that product or in what way is this different from the existing product many fail to show a real need.

i agree with Vitalik...the rate of emission of ico is very fast from last few month..we need ico that has ability to give something new to this world

It is not as he has seen the future, it is already happening. Presently ICO value has changed from what it used to be, it is now been abused as a means to lure money from big investors. Now airdrop is taking the place, what investors only need is to do due diligence in their research. Personally, I do ICO no more because they no longer fulfil their promises and ICO has become a better means to hold investment from growing.
But still, some ICO will still be a success because of the notablesupport to the project such as HEXTRA...
80% of the ICO can fail easily now.
