Title: Have to buy a lot of furniture, advice?

Moving from a furnished appartement to a non furnished one. I have to but everything apart from the fridge and oven. Seems to be very expensive, any advice to save?

I am thinking of buying the minimum now: bed + mattress, sofa + small table, tv + its table, then wait for end if the year sales to buy everything else. But even at 50% off these will easily cost 5000-6000. (prices from Hudson bay.)
