Title: What role do NFTs play in weddings?
Post by: martinnura on March 27, 2023, 12:21:31 PM
Weddings in the metaverse are becoming a big deal now! And the decor, the digital food and even the wine are all NFTs. This is something of a revolution, given that it completely takes away the massive cost of hosting a regular wedding and the accessories can be bought on several NFT marketplaces.

Weddings in the metaverse are definitely a unique way to celebrate, but what really stands out is how much personalization and creativity can be put into it. While virtual venues, NFT accessories, and even digital food and wine are making waves, there's still a lot to consider for those who want to add a real-world touch.

Well, when I read the title, I envisioned a broader range of NFT applications in weddings: marriage certificates, wedding videos, and family photos tokenized and stored on-chain. However, I was quite surprised by your mention of decorations and food. I don't think we're quite ready to have fully-fledged, serious weddings in the Metaverse. People generally prefer meeting in person, interacting, and playing games to create joy and offer blessings to the bride and groom.

NFTs may possess unique values, but they can't replace the traditional values that directly involve human interaction in the real world. We should use NFTs effectively to enhance our quality of life, not let them drag us into a monotonous digital existence.

This is not a revolution but it's destruction of social presence and those weddings in Metaverse are just crap and nothing else I believe. I know the cost of hosting a normal/traditional style wedding are somehow reduced but I think it should be called as virtual wedding rather than a physical one. There's nothing termed digital food, it's just a term used to make fool of us and nothing else.

I also believe that the current Metaverse is primarily a fun experiment for artists and celebrities to reach a wider audience. Its current monotony won't capture the interest of most brides and grooms.

The Covid-19 pandemic isolation highlighted our need for real-world social interaction. Social media, Metaverse, and NFTs can be great tools but can't replace our tangible experiences.

No, they are not!

And when I took a look at the website I saw this:

An excellent example of banging your heard against a wall for paying even a penny for such a piece of ******!

As of now, I am not seeing a huge market for weddings in metaverse...there can be a demand for this but it is not yet that trendy but who knows what can be in the future, right? Maybe a metaverse wedding can be more appropriate if we can go back to the lockdown days in the Covid-19 days...or maybe an addition to the real physical wedding to enhance the occasion and make it more memorable. I agree that even if we are already technological advanced right now, we still prefer person-to-person interaction especially an intimate occasion like a wedding. And as to the NFTs that can be generated out of a wedding, I am just wondering if there will really be a demand for that outside of the people who are connected to the wedding...but maybe this can be good for preserving the memories but not for commercialization in a big way.

Yes, it's now a fun and profitable experiment for the artists and celebrities and nothing else. So much FOMO about NFTs was created in last bull run but now the NFTs aren't that much popular. Some scammers made NFTs and taken away money from newbies investors or from the greedy ones. The NFTs won't be able to replace traditional wedding setups and we all should understand that.

Virtual weddings are interesting, but it’s hard to see them fully replacing the real thing. There’s something about the atmosphere, the in-person celebration, and sharing an actual meal that’s hard to recreate digitally. It’s a cool idea, but maybe not quite the same as a traditional wedding experience. NFTs could make for unique wedding gifts.

Oh My Ghost, this is very unfriendly to me, this is beyond my thinking because how can we have a wedding but in the Metaverse which is digital! How can we interact with each other in real life and touch, for example shaking hands. This is not sure for me.

And the decor, the digital food and even the wine are all NFTs. This is something of a revolution, given that it completely takes away the massive cost of hosting a regular wedding and the accessories can be bought on several NFT marketplaces.
If the decoration or decoration that is beautiful to the eye seems suitable to be present in NFT but for food or drinks like Wine, how do we get the taste of the Wine? I have concluded that for a digital wedding in Metamverse, for now I will not agree. Thank you.

Yeah, the bride and groom will want to receive direct blessings from everyone in the family instead of a Metaverse wedding. I like the idea of using NFTs to store memories on the Bitcoin blockchain, similar to the enduring meaning of diamonds on wedding rings.

I think we could also use crypto as a wedding gift. For example, I would lock $1000 worth of BTC on the Bitcoin blockchain and give the two keys to the bride and groom. They could open each part of the wedding gift together after every 10 years. That could be a pretty interesting experience for them, if this had happened 10 years ago, they could have both become millionaires ^^

And a lot of the ones that made that gift will have ten years to think, well these two have become real pricks lately, we always argue with them, they talk shit behind our backs, so how about we just empty their damns wallets and let them have a surprise 6 years later when they think they are millionaires?  ;D

I think the whole idea of NFTs in weddings is fascinating, especially in the metaverse! It’s wild how people can go all digital for their big day—like, you could have an NFT wedding suit or tuxedo, which is actually kind of fun to imagine! I recently came across some stylish wedding suits from Gentleman's Guru (https://www.gentlemansguru.com/product-category/wedding-tuxedos/), and it got me thinking: would a digital version of those suits ever catch on in virtual weddings? Honestly, if the cost of hosting a wedding in the metaverse keeps people from breaking the bank on traditional wedding accessories, that could be a win. Not sure how it all balances out yet, but it’s cool to think about the possibilities. Thoughts?
