Bitcoin is the best choice of course because it already build a foundation of trust among the people as the most trusted and most potential for sure earnings in which it doesn't need a commodity just to attract people to invest on this coin. Altcoin is a best choice too just ensure that the coin that you will going to choose is belong to top ranked in which most trusted too like ETH, XRP and EOS because there are some Altcoins that are belong to the crap level so choose well.

Looking at the market today and i think now is still the best time to invest through buying and holding profitable crypto while the market is too weak.
buying both alt and btc would be good to invest for now that the value is lower than last. so if searching for a exact time now would be great.

It's still a good time to buy, but a few days ago was significantly better. Nothing is set in stone where BTC is concerned, but it's possible that we'll never see below 7k again as well. You have to decide if you're willing to risk missing out.

The question that should be asked... is if you were willing to buy bitcoin or alts at 3-5X the current value of them, why hesitate in buying them at this price? I've talked to a couple of people today asking if they should buy Ethereum at 300 after buying it at 1000 during its bull run... the answer is obvious, yes you buy as things go down and avoid them when going up. People fundamentally do the opposite and only want things when others want them and are the first to fud when whales tip it over on them... learn to be brave and buy in times like this.. and learn to be cowardly when everyone else is rallying at all time highs.

I kind of agree.. the alt cycle can't start without Ethereum pump so its inevitable to be higher from now but buy cautiously.. ladder down with buying small from here with still heavy positions available for 250, 225, 200 in case we really fud out, but I think 3-4 months from now we can be laughing about sub 300 ETH.

The prices seem attractive for a long time and I bought some bitcoins on strong drawdowns. I'm not sure about altcoins yet.They fell strongly and potentially during growth they can increase many times.....but still, the main growth I think will begin with bitcoin and many will buy it and sell altcoins,then the growth of altcoins will begin.It's cyclical.This is my scenario.

The Bitcoin price is not really low/cheap today. But I think you still can consider buying some for the short term target. Bitcoin price move looks quite predictable, it is growing to reach better values. I'm no doubt to buy the Bitcoin in this phase. It'll rise as long as there is hype of halving news.

Those who have more money in hand should invest into low rate so that they will gainer in near future. Market can not go always in down as one time it must go forwarded so those who can wait for that time should invest instant now.

But unfortunately, it is not the time for altcoins with low rates anymore. 2018 should be the time that altcoins have very low prices. However, it is still a good time to buy some trusted altcoins before bullrun happens. Crypto market is growing fast currently, don't wait for a too long time till it is over already. :D

I would say buy both BTC and good altcoins, don't put all your money into 1 coin. With BTC try to add some low-cap coins this is the best way to diversify your portfolio.
