Most beginners start by using the official wallet, and it is very frustrating to say the least. What do you think ?

same here..wallet sync really takes too long.  This part of etherium should be well focused...otherwise all is good with etherium

that's normal for beginners, and I think it's also safe enough to store the ethereum they have for beginners, and that's good to do.
