Title: Is it normal to wait for six months for a bounty reward?
Post by: Domithra on July 03, 2018, 05:53:41 AM
It depends on the rules and plan of the whole bounty program. That is the more reason why you are required to read thoroughly and understand the rules of the bounty program before you attempt to do it. It becomes normal to wait for six months for bounty payment when it was stated in the bounty program but abnormal when the otherwise happens.

If this is indicated in the bounty conditions, this is normal. But when they begin to delay payments without any reason for this, when they come up with new excuses, it is very bad and unpleasant.

Yes it will be normal if it clearly stated on the Bounty conditions. Since the participants willfully joined the campaign, thus, they must patiently wait. But usually, Bounty rewards are given 1 month after the campaign ends.

I notice that more and more often the ico founders began to change the rules and extend the terms for 1-2 months without increasing payments. There's nothing you can do about it.

More times bounty managers do not keep their words with the distribution of their tokens. They normally fail their promises made for distributions. I am still waiting to receive a payment for a video campaign I did in February 2018. But most of the managers are straightforward and keep their words, some of them even pay weekly.

Six months or more is not good to wait because it is simply the project is not in good process that decided to reschedule the payment.

Before I join the bounty I will read the rules but I did not see any bounty that stated that their payments will be distributed six months after end of the bounty or ICO. It's a delaying tactics from the team to prevent bounty token being dumps after the distribution which is not fair to the bounty participants.

Yes it is good to read the rule before joining bounty, but remember that most projects extend the ICO durations there by making the bounty campaign time very long but not a six months period. However, i think six months duration before bounties are paid is just an excuse to avoid bounty payments and it could be a sign that such projects are scam or dump coins /coins.

If the bounty didn't give any specific date and they state the tokens will be distributed after ICO, thrn it is normal. But if they give a specific date and they are delaying, then there is something wrong.

This is clearly not normal if the bounty manager hadn't mentioned during the bounty program that the payment will be after 6 months. You got two scenarios here -

(i) Some weak projects come up with an idea of locking the bounty and airdrop tokens to avoid big market dumps after listing of the coin/token in an exchange. This is done for the benefit of the early investors and the team in mind.
or
(ii) Wantonly delaying the distribution process so as to avoid the payment. So most probably the project is trash or scam.

If its the first case, then you might get atleast something for the work you have done. If its the second case, don't even bother to receive the payment. But in both cases, it's not a good sign of a good project.

More probably it depends to the group or manager who manage the campaign. The system of payment sometimes went more than 1 month to 3 months but if the promised did not do then there will have extension it can be 6 months or above. If 6 months of waiting will always happen then it will become normal for those who are always victim of promised.
