The term hype projects refers to High-Yield Investment Program (HYIP)[1], which is a type of scam whose purpose is to exploit your greed by making you believe that there are ways to make a quick profit and you will believe these methods. In the end, you will discover that your money has been stolen, and if you are very lucky, you may achieve some profits when withdraw your money first and foremost, but do not forget the moral impact of supporting such projects, as the profits generated for you mean direct profits for the scammers, so stay away from any project that promises you a quick profit or a golden opportunity without offering anything other than promises.

this should be moved to Scams and Phishing (https://www.altcoinstalks.com/index.php?board=84.0)

and they most always are based around COMPOUND INTEREST which means the "potential" to make quick and big profit is immense but if you study the logistics of them they are totally unsustainable.

where is your interest coming from?
its coming from the poor souls who join up after you with the money they put in hoping to make just as much money as you.

this also means you are paying the interest for the guys who joined before you.

these HYIP sites dont last long, they pull the plug as soon as the scam becomes saturated and just before the house of cards implodes on itself.

you see they put in a small amount, enough to pay the initial people who join and soon when they get more members it kind of is self sufficient up to the point of the implosion leaving everyone bar the initial few high and dry.

stay well away

new members feed the scam

stay well away and feel guilty if you join one and make money because if you do someone lost money.

Is it about investing in a certain website that gives a higher return around 20% above on a daily or monthly basis? If so, this is a scam. Don't ever try to invest your money in any website that has that kind of offer.

Or if it's about investing in a hyped-up cryptocurrency project that offers an investment program or sells their cryptocurrency at a presale value, then it still depends. Investing solely because a project is popular is the same as gambling. Such an investment decision is made based on other people's suggestions without any research to confirm whether it is a good project or not.

If the project makes any promises that you will achieve a quick, guaranteed profit of 10% per day or 20%, then it is scam, even if it is a cryptocurrency project, because simply if it is guaranteed to obtain these profits, why does it not take a loan of 5% and return the profits?
All High-Yield Investment Program projects are a scam, no matter how different the final form of the project is.

What I mean by that is the type of startup project that offers a pre-selling value of their tokens the same as ICO in the past.
I wanted to clarify that what you have added to the above statement is about my first question, which promises unusually high returns and is likely a scam. Aside from that, it's important to be cautious when considering any investment that promises high returns without a clear explanation of how the investment generates such returns. If the project lacks transparency about its purpose and how it can offer an interest rate that high, it's best to avoid it.

The fact that a project has an explained "story" and a meaningful excuse for how it will earn money for investors also does not provide many guarantees that it is not a scam. Scammers are so skilled and intelligent, they adapt very easily and there is no problem in creating a transparent platform.
Very often fraud is not on the first layer, but only later on on a side step.

I haven't because I found hyped projects as projects that are full of scams, that have no utility to offer, other than promising profit returns that can't last for a long time, only to use hyping as a way to attract investors to their project.

One's the hyping is gone, the project dies immediately because it has nothing to sustain it in the crypto market in the long run. That's why I choose to avoid hyping projects because of that
