Title: Who has gambling restrictions?
Post by: Altcoin1998$ on December 27, 2023, 10:02:27 AM
Gambling is one of the most serious and harmful social problems. Recently it is seen that people of different age are addicted to gambling. Especially in the area where I live, usually school going students below 18 years of age are getting addicted to these harmful drugs. Although at this age they are not engaging in sports and entertainment, they are engaging themselves in serious harmful vices like gambling at this age. It is absolutely necessary to discuss and criticize the question of what class of people gambling should really be restricted to.

Where has restrictions ever been followed. Actions that are stated to be above 18 are still been practiced by teenagers. True mostly this time around. I've seen alot of kids gambling in such tender ages which is bad gambling such age can cause serious gambling addiction. Like in the area I reside there's some betting shops where you can bet in different games located there. Most time I will see student whose  are around the age range of 16 complaining on how they have lose their cash without even having good understanding about gambling. While some will give experience gambler to gamble for them. Where as gambling are for people that are matured with good sources of income. That have other things they are doing not putting all hope in betting. We'll know that betting not something you encourage children to engage with.

Is there no law in your country prohibiting underage students from gambling? I find it concerning that a 16 year old student can bet at a shop. It's possible that the owner is letting these students gamble for profit. In our area, students are strictly prohibited from gambling, especially if they are wearing their school uniform. The authorities will be notified, and the owner will be held accountable for any offense committed.

even if there is restriction it will not work as long as its done online, the gambling will still go on for those underage. casinos are not asking KYC if the amount off funds they have in their account is not as huge as for the mandatory KYC. i have no idea how much that is  but having $500 afaik the casinos will not ask the KYC. for kids, its safe to assume they could bet within this amount without worries.

but the local casinos that has apps to be downloaded are spreading widely and users can play using the local digital currency too.

In my area, if an underaged student is seen gambling in a shop, both the owner of the shop and the student would be arrested by the police, I've seen over two cases where it happened, so that's made it impossible for underage to just walk up to any shop and start gambling.

Gambling is one of the reasons for the decline of society. Many people have lost their money, wealth and dignity through gambling. I still remember when I was in high school, some of my friends would save money to go home and win the lottery in hopes of getting a bike. And that gambling festival lasted for about five months. They used to win lotteries regularly and walk home on their way home. Even the midday meal would cost up to Rs. By which they had to face many losses and indulged in unhealthy competition. It was later banned by the government. That's when I realized that this addiction can actually be of any level. Another incident happened with one of my uncles. He gambled and lost in the game of cricket. Later, as he could not pay, the creditors came to his house and started vandalism. There are thousands of such examples, through which family and social damage has been caused by gambling.

Gambling has become a perplexing situation in society this is even more worrisome when one considers the negative reactions of people when they lose. These reactions take the form of committing suicide, transferring aggression to people around, and even destroying items.

When one considers these issues and the implications of gambling in society it becomes glaring why gambling restriction on children is important. Children here implies minors who are below 18 years of age. This restriction connotes that it is illegal for a minor to gamble and this restriction should be appreciated by all and sundry.

Reasons will suffice here: first, children are not yet mentally developed enough to accommodate the pains that come with gambling; furthermore, a child doesn't have financial stability yet or any source of income thus, a dependant which means if a child ever gambles he is using his parents or guardians money or sometimes using money that was given for a purpose to gamble; also, any addiction developed during childhood is very difficult to control so it becomes bad for a child to be introduced to gambling early in life, lastly, gambling by a child can make the child involve in behaviors that will be disturbing to society like stealing, alcoholism and drug.

Summarilly, since the child is already restricted from gambling by State policies, it will be imperative if the old (70-above) can be restricted since they are easily prone to heart attacks, and at that age gambling can easily trigger shock and that becomes a danger to their health.

Gambling is now so popular in the society that even the children now do it without thinking otherwise. As a result of this, many individuals who engage in gambling exercise now become the shadow of themselves in the society that most of them run into debt and some commit crimes just to make sure they are well to do and have some funds for gambling. However, It is pertinent to know that most societies does not allow casinos to run on their jurisdiction while some do but with clauses attached to their existence which has a restriction to age bracket liable to gamble.

However, online casinos are not left behind as they too are another arm or wing of gambling as they are mostly crypto integrated. They have kyc policies that are used to checkmate their registered members when it comes to region and age limit for gambling. But i do not think kyc solves the problem of underage gamblers online because one can pay for somebody to do kyc for them and after scaling through, they continue with their gambling exercise without the casino knowing. So in that case the local betting or gambling store can be able to do the age restriction while gambling and lastly, in my country, there is no law against gambling but there is age clause attached for the gambling organisation to take note of.

I think, there is, in countries where the rule of law functions. You will find a rule of law prohibiting underage kids below 18 not to get themselves involved in gambling. And any gambling house that tries to allow underage students to gamble will find themselves to be blamed if they are been reported or caught up with that kind of act.

In my locality, an underage kid won't try to come close to a gambling house, where his seniors are since that would be disrespecting attitude which will result to beating him ups involved in gambling. And any gambling house that tries to allow underage students to gamble will find themselves to be blamed if they are been reported or caught up with that kind of act.

So any betting shop owner who does that because of the minor profits to get will result in the government closing the betting shop.

When it comes to keeping to the restriction of children on gambling, bookies have always abide by the restriction and they do this by ensuring that underage children are prevented from creating a betting account. When a child declares a false date of birth such a child can be held liable for misrepresentation and there are penalties for misrepresentation because it becomes a fraud. For shops allowing children to gamble, such bet shops should either be closed down or the manager should be arrested because State laws prohibit children from gambling. Sometimes, children appear bigger than their age hence it becomes difficult to even tell if the person is below 18yrs and you don't expect a bet shop manager to inquire about every gambler's age and this is one of the impediments faced by bet shop owners in a bid to restrict children from gambling. Also, asking someone to help you place a bet doesn't mean that you are a child. You can be an adult and even solicit assistance during gambling.

I am thinking there is also a possibility that underage children also engaged in online gambling.. I believe that
online casino protocols for underage  could be easily bypassed by them than these physical bet shop because they might recruit somebody to do their KYC for them and after which they continue their gambling and nobody knows what is happening.

I believe this is a major challenge faced by online gambling sites but they can not say it out because they would just assume the account belongs to an adult not having the knowledge that it belongs to an underage gambler who is hiding under the identity of another to gamble on their website.
I was looking at the fact that casinos should look into developing a mechanism to detect an underage gambler with their gaming patterns. This should be able to help fish out those sets of gamblers who are gambling under adult identity.

The rate at which underage involved themselves in gambling IA alarming because it can ruin their future since they are not working but still in high school. There will be a lot of negative effect on them, like stealing to gamble and they will be prune to addiction. In my country the law that prohibit underage from gambling is not active as there are online casinos that makes it very easy for these high school student to participate in gambling. As parents and adults, we should be the one to caution these our children or younger ones about gambling and we should not also gamble in their presence.

It is good that children should be restricted, and made not to play any gambling game when they are still below the age of gamble. This mistake is what some parents do which later makes them regret ever introducing their children to it.Some of them will introduce their children to it indirectly and they won't know, the indirect way of introducing their children might happen when they gamble infront of their children, their children will be learning, but they won't know, but the day they come in contact with a cell phone, that is when all they've ever watched their father or mother do will come into play in their brain.

i think there was a question off how these casinos today are designing their logos or their promotional banners because they tend to make it attractive to the children's eyes. an example of this is that their logo includes a cute stuff toy or a cuddly bear which a kid will likely click if its shown on their ads on their tiktok pages.

casinos however are just not aware all the time of which users behind the keyboard are to be restricted.
but i think its only the kids that should be restricted. although the Muslim countries are already blocking themselves for its not allowed in their religion to gamble.

There are of course restrictions on who cannot participate in gambling. Strict legal measures should be taken to ensure that especially minors and those involved in education related activities cannot participate in gambling.  Moreover, if any guardian participates in gambling in public, especially in school-college premises, they must take punitive action.  If a child participates, he must face punitive measures including fines under the Child Adoption Act.

On the other hand, this will be difficult to stop, because access to gambling is now very easy, someone only needs a cellphone to start accessing gambling sites. On the other hand for the bookmakers they will not think too much about it, because even though there is a ban on gambling for them children, they can still access it without anyone's knowledge. And for the bookie himself, anyone who gambles will benefit them.

The role of parents is very necessary here, logically, children who have not worked can get money from where? yes definitely from their own parents, and in this case parents must provide supervision of them. The problem is that today's children are smarter, even though they gamble on their cellphones, they can still hide from their parents.

It's harmful, especially to underage, the government should protect the youth this is a corruption of minors. if I encounter this I will check our country law's about this abuse and if the establishment is violating their compliancy and terms they should be liable for this, a gambling premises should have a sign that minors are restricted, if there is none, there's a possibility that the establishment is illegal so it should be taken down.
Minors should not engage in gambling if adults see this they have to report this to authorities and the authorities will call their parents
to castigate them, the youth is the hope of the nation if they indulge in gambling the hope of the nation will crumble.

That's true. It's either the establishment is illegal or maybe they just focus on making money rather than doing the right thing and helping the younger generation avoid gambling. The best thing to do on this is to report the establishment and have the authorities deploy people to regularly check not only the said establishment, but all establishments around the area if ever the minors have tried to gamble. This way, they can see that people are monitoring their activities and they might face consequences if they happen to continue gambling even with their minor age.

I don't think there is any specific age limit for gambling. I have heard many stories of people who have taken up gambling as their career after retiring from their jobs to support their children and other expenses. School going students in the area where you live are getting addicted to gambling which is not good news for your area. If a good student gets addicted to gambling, he will lose focus on his studies. If one by two all the students of the area get addicted to gambling like this then in future you will not see any highly educated boys and girls from your area. If you are upset about the matter or if you feel that the children in your area are getting too addicted to gambling then take responsibility of your family to try to get them out of gambling and power. If they get addicted to gambling without focusing on studies at the moment then their career will not be good at all.

This is not correct. Children are limited from gambling. Some laws have considered gambling by a child illegal and in bet shops if it is obvious that you are a child, you will not be allowed to gamble unless you appear older than your age since it is difficult to ask everyone who comes to gamble his age before letting him gamble. This notwithstanding, the law doesn't support a child's gambling.

Gambling creates anarchy in the society. It has many harmful aspects. In the beginning people take it as fun but if they get any kind of profit from it slowly it consumes people and at the end of the day it takes a horrible form. When a gambler gambles regularly it eventually becomes one of the causes of his addiction. It can be seen that families who are in poverty still cannot give up the game and put pressure on the family in various ways to raise money for gambling. But in developed countries it manifests differently. There it is fully legal in certain regions. And since they don't think it's immoral there, it doesn't have much impact on those states.
