Title: "Ethereum Killers" are becoming "Ethereum Supporters"
Post by: MrSpasybo on January 01, 2024, 06:53:46 PM
Few years we have discussed rivalry between Solana and Ethereum blockchains but Solana co-founder Anatoly Yakovenko said that Solana is now an “Ethereum L2 with the Wormhole Eigenlayer”. This means that Solana can be used as a layer-two solution for Ethereum, which could help to reduce congestion on Ethereum blockchain (Solana Now an “Ethereum L2 With Wormhole Eigenlayer” – Founder Says (https://coingape.com/solana-now-an-ethereum-l2-with-wormhole-eigenlayer-founder-says/)).

I was really surprised by this, because I always thought that Solana was Ethereum's most formidable competitor thanks to its high speed and cheap transaction fees. However, if we look back a year ago, when Solana was in crisis due to the collapse of FTX, Vitalik spoke optimistically about Solana and wanted everyone to give Solana a chance.

Some smart people tell me there is an earnest smart developer community in Solana, and now that the awful opportunistic money people have been washed out, the chain has a bright future.
Hard for me to tell from outside, but I hope the community gets its fair chance to thrive🦾🦾

We have seen Solana have Neon EVM, now Solana can become Layer-2 of Ethereum. Similarly, NEAR has Aurora EVM, EOS has EOS EVM, Ethereum killers are turning into powerful Ethereum Supporters. The world has changed a lot in the past few years.

To me, this is a good thing because blockchain community will be able to cooperate and develop together in a healthy way instead of criticizing and attacking each other. Investors will also be able to easily choose truly potential projects with good liquidity and useful products for users.

Do you prefer complete cooperation or fierce competition between blockchains in this market? Which do you think will be better for the development of blockchain technology and the crypto market?

It is certainly interesting to watch the development of blockchains, especially when there are a huge number of them.  But as for Solana, this is an excellent solution in the role of Ethereum Layer 2, this indicates a maturing ecosystem where projects can successfully coexist.  As for competition, I think the ideal would be a balance between cooperation and healthy competition between the two.  After all, everyone wants to look better than others and sometimes this is not healthy for everyone.

Competing in the crypto world will not solve the problem because there will be many new networks in the future. It is better to improve the ecosystem and collaborate between networks to make it easier for users to interact on each network. I agree with the opinion of the founder of Solana because it will make interactions on the Solana network grow
