Post by: bosshyip on July 04, 2018, 06:31:43 PM
The U.S. government is seeking to forfeit 4,000 bitcoins that were seized during a crackdown of vendors on darkweb marketplaces - an amount that worth over $24 million as of press time! That's an enough amount of Bitcoin to fluctuate the market. What do you think?

I think they should burn the coins rather than dump it into the markets. However, they will probably auction it off and raise funds for their treasury department

What I know is that two men, Ryan Farace and Robert Swain have been allegedly manufacturing drugs and distributing them through the darkweb marketplaces in exchange for bitcoin since November 2013 and June 2017. And so far it is allegedly believed that they've accumulated 4,000 bitcoin. And in cases like this, even if it were physical cash, it would be confiscated. And anything you owned can and would be confiscated.

Agreed.. the source would definitely help in this case because I'd like to hear more about what happened and when.. as far as fluctuating the market you'd have to think they'd have an auction or some OTC deal where they won't be unloaded at market price on an exchange.
