Title: Accessing the forum using Tor
Post by: Husires on February 01, 2024, 11:19:23 AM
today, I noticed that when I want to post anything, I get this error

It has been repeated twice, does anyone face the same problem? I use Tor and did not get such a error using other browsers.

Did you try to restart Tor browser and change IP address with new identity button?
Maybe for some reason they banned address you got assigned, but know there are other issues with Tor browser and this forum with signatures of some campaigns that are not compatible and they are showing twisted images.

I don't have a problem browsing, but when I post, I think the forum sets spam restrictions at the IP level and not at the account level, or are there restrictions on the Tor nodes? I don't know, but if the problem occurs again, I will report it.
Browsing using Tor is very slow. I am now on Firefox privacy mode and the forum is working fine.

Using Tor Browser feels very slow in my opinion because I am also using it now.
Tor Browser also provides a Signature display on altcoinstalks so it's not friendly to look at, I saw a lot of strange signatures.
My posts on the altcoinstalks forum were still safe and didn't experience any problems, I just had to wait more than 10 seconds to post successfully, this is the average I experienced using Tor Browser.

Then every now and then there is a warning from the altcoinstalks forum "Your IP has been used for posting, please wait 60 seconds", even though I haven't made the same post yet, strange isn't it?
After I waited more than 1 minute, it still couldn't post.
My solution was to immediately close the tab and open a new tab, then post and it worked.

But that's in general, not only on this forum. I've been using Tor for days now and I haven't encountered any problems, apart from a little slower, as usual, and I haven't got the message you got. Although seeing that masudginanjar also gets it from time to time, I guess it will end up happening to me too.

That is what I was telling you.
Tor browser uses different IP address every time you restart or click new identity button, and with that you are getting new IP address each time.
One of those addresses could be restricted in altcoinstalks forum, that is why I asked if you did what I wrote.
And using firefox privacy mode has nothing to do with real privacy  ;D

<...> I guess it will end up happening to me too.

I said it yesterday and it just happened to me. So far reopening the thread and copying and pasting the answer there has worked for me because otherwise there was no way.

honestly I've never had any problems, and I use Tor very often for many reasons (all legal)
I don't like being tracked, I don't like corporations minding my business, so I use Tor
I've never had any problems so far, maybe it will happen to me
Meanwhile, as advice I can give you to refresh the Tor connection by changing the IP using the appropriate button

I think while using Tor your IP might have mixed with some other person's IP that might have made a post on this forum. I do not really know how this is possible because the TOR browser assures full anonymity in this case. I don't know the exact reason but, using the Tor browser it must not be a problem to use those forums.

An IP is assigned in the bottom right corner to our post, and by using VPN we can change that, using TOR our IP is already changed to some country we have chosen, and that IP will be written at that position in our post. This means it should not be a problem. masudginanjar's post make sense.

going slightly OT, use tor and also use open source browsers
Avoid like the plague browsers like Google Chrome which are full of internal tracking and which do not allow you to take advantage of addons like uBlock (recommended)
if you really want a popular browser use Firefox
You should know that both Microsoft and Apple have sabotaged the performance of Firefox, google it

Depending... "desktop-laptop-tablet-smarhphone" I have used several browsers, including Tor, and the error appears, regardless of the type of browser, but I did not give it importance, since it is temporary, it disappears.

Babo, I think that trying to change the use of other browsers is like trying to change religion.

On the other hand, I think that each browser has its advantages, no matter how shitty they are, so just use it according to what you need.

well I'm glad
I was interested because sometimes, in certain contexts, tor is put aside a little
example, if there is a ddos attack then what happens is that the admins increase the protection on the cloudflare side and practically with TOR I no longer log in, the captcha restarts continuously and I can't move on

for this reason I replied and I jumped in since TOR is one of the tools I use a lot

I use Tor, but never experience such problem so far. But if that message is accurate and this forum become more popular, i expect user who use Tor would complain about such problem.

Babo, I think that trying to change the use of other browsers is like trying to change religion.

But many browser have feature to transfer data, which makes transition process much easier.

The best browser to use is Google Chrome. I was also using Opera Mini browser but there are sometimes when you are typing with opera mini, the write up would just disappeared and you would start all over again from the beginning. And there was a time I couldn't use it to open bitcointalk forum again so with that anger I deleted the Opera Mini browser app from my phone and installed google chrome browser and since when I started using it I have not experienced any error message again. Tor browser is good because the security itself is nice but it delay to open and it work with strong network and not weak network so if your see such error message then check your network and your IP address.

ok we're going OT, the thread was about problems regarding the use of TOR which in the end rarely happens
so if the author of the thread wants, in my opinion we can close this thread and mark it as resolved
to decide the pros and cons and which browser is better, it's best to open another thread
