On Feb. 1, 2024, Valkyrie Digital Assets, a cryptocurrency asset manager, revealed in a Form 8-K submission to the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) that it has selected Bitgo to provide custodial services for its spot bitcoin exchange-traded fund (ETF). Didn't Bitgo one of the parties blamed for the Bitfinex hack in 2021(?)? Has their custodial service improved since then? From some news that I've read, they always seem to believe that they are not at fault and that their system works correctly whenever a security incident is involved. I sure hope they don't allow a withdrawal from an API without any limit anymore after the Bitfinex incident. It would be better if the holding is set up with multi-sig or something even better. But who knows what these companies are doing, you should never rely on them anyway.
