I do not know what the current mods permissions are, but organizing the forum requires a lot of effort, which @admin may not be able to do. Therefore, I suggest adding 3 global mods be appointed to have all @admin permissions except:
- Accessing sensitive account data such as password, email, and IP addresses.
- Inability to appoint a new manager.
- Front-end access and inability to modify the forum code.
Thus, the administrator devotes himself to the back-end, while Global Mods can make modifications to the general appearance of the forum, such as moving topics, creating new boards, closing old boards, and other things that lead to organizing the forum better and faster.

I can not give karma yet, but if I re-visit this topic any time I am eligible to give out karma, I will give. This your idea is very thoughtful and it will help the forum to grow faster and get moderated very well so that scammers can not post any kind of phishing links without it being deleted as soon as it gets reported. It will help to keep the forum clean. I am not sure if the admin can do all this job alone.

Frankly, I still do not understand the forum well (it may be a silly suggestion), and perhaps the old members have a better point of view, in addition to the fact that the limits of our knowledge of the forum do not exceed two months, and the forum is several years old, but nevertheless, some quick changes may be useful, especially since most of the new members have Successful experiences outside the forum and they want to help.

@hugeblack, your suggestions are good and make sense, but I must say that what you suggest is already being done, not in the direct way you comment, but in other ways. Global moderators, like all types of moderators, have to work to ensure that the forum is as clean as possible of spam, scams, and that users get help as quickly as possible, among other things.
The president and vice president must monitor requests for new local moderators, which takes time to make sure we choose the right person. Global moderators are chosen by voting, and that is something that needs even more time. Global moderators already have the necessary tools to move, close, delete threads/posts, we delegate the rest of what you comment to the administrator, and he, with the necessary time, does it.
Everything will be done and move in the right direction, but for this we all need patience.
Thanks for the suggestions.

I agree as well.
Admin should run foruk administration, not forum moderation.
Move topics, delete posts , negative karma etc this is all moderators tasks imo.
Admin should be worried about forum development. Maybe he can even hire someone for especific jobs as well.

I apologize again, I do not know how the forum works since we have been here for only two months.
I know that the forum tends not to delete posts, but sometimes having a little useful content is better than a lot of unhelpful and little useful content. Also, some of the newly joined member have sufficient knowledge, so I hope there will be a vote to add 2 or 3 from Telepoerted to be Global mods, or at least they have permissions to move/edit/delete posts throughout the forum.
It is true that strict mods is bad for creating useful content, but some changes are necessary.
Again, we are still learning how the forum works and all these suggestions to improve the forum and not to change it or make it like any other forum.

You don't have to apologize for anything, don't worry.
Let me tell you that the number of posts that are deleted or moved is a considerable amount on a daily basis. I know there are teleported users with enough knowledge to be moderators, but that's not up to me. As I said in another of my posts, this is a somewhat slow process, we must monitor the activity of the candidates to be sure.
Anyway, you can write a suggestion in this subforum and see what the admin and other moderators think, I don't know, maybe it would be possible by giving minimum permissions, but I'm not sure.
My apologies for taking so long to respond.

I think the above listed tasks cannot and has not been performed by the admin alone. He must have delegated some of the moderators. What we don't actually know is how things work, but however it works, it needs more hands as here is rapidly developing both in trafic and in quality.
-
Another well thought out suggestion here, and to be honest, I've not actually felt the impact of the global moderators on this forum like I feel it on btt, admin seems to be the only one who is already all around handling all the stuffs that goes on and around on this forum, from moving topics, or deleting the ones that need to be deleted, to banning users who break forum rules, to wiping users karma who are seen to be abusing the karma system, to flagging accounts that engages in any form of malicious activities and so on and so on, admin does everything, and some time ago, I've actually wondered within myself what really are the task given to global moderators to handle on the forum? Or is the "Global moderator" badge the carry around nothing but a decoration on their profile?
We want admin to live long, and to actualize this, the work load on him need to be significantly reduced, just like hugeblack have pointed out, admin should distribute some this tasks to the global moderators, if there aren't enough global mods, I can volunteer myself to become one, distributing the tasks will help the admin focus more on what's really important on the improvements the forum needs, this is lead to a faster improvements and growth of the forum..

I think we should keep in mind that the administrator has a lot of work to do. The administrator can ask for help to do certain things, and whenever we can we will help the administrator, because that is what moderators are for, to help. Let's remember, as I have said on occasion, that we have lives, families, jobs, responsibilities... And that there are many things to do to improve the forum and many requests and suggestions from users, which is totally normal. No one should worry, when the administrator needs help to do more things he will find the right people, in the meantime let him continue working and get some sleep from time to time.

The truth is that you haven't said anything true. There are various moderators that move, delete, send warnings to users and do many other things. The administrator is the one who does those things the least. I understand that you can't see the moderation logs, and that you probably have a lot of imagination, but saying that the global moderator (or any moderator rank) badge is just decoration is disrespectful to many people who dedicate their time and effort to this forum.

Nice suggestion to reduce the stress of the admin and from what you have said, you must have a good knowledge about the moderation work therefore I appeal to the admin to appoint you as one for the global moderators in the forum. You are deem fit to carry out the tasks. And also we need people like to work with the admin. You are a generous person and not like some people that ignore users but you move along with everyone. You must be love by everyone in your compound. admin please grant his request. And I will put this thread in my watch list so I can receive emails from it regularly.to know what is going on here. You are one of the best over there. Take this +karma.

As I already said (in this and other posts) the selection of moderators, especially global moderators, is done after a long time when we talk about "new" users, in this case a teleported user. I am not saying that @hugeblack is not worthy of being a global moderator, he is a very valuable user for his contributions, what I am saying is that everything has a process of monitoring and following up on candidate users. After that time, @hair and I will propose new moderators (local and global) for the administrator to award the badge to the new moderators.

I am already a local mod, and if I chosen as Global, I will try to do the best I can, but since there is a process and it takes some time, it is better to respect the forum rules, especially since I do not know many aspects of this forum.

I'm one of those users who know you're doing good, especially since you are actively attending to the questions of some users, it only shows you are knowledgeable and willing to take action for the better of this forum. If ever there is an open spot and you get chosen as one global moderator, it means you are fit for that role ;) Good luck mate.

I have been assigned as a moderator in a very small board (technical discussion), which has zero spam , I have done nothing so far... We don't have too much spam here in altcoinstalks

We thank God for that testimony. Because there was discussing going on on the BTT.and some users over there were saying that altcoinstalks is the center for spamming and since you are a active participant here in the forum, you have more experience than those who are arguing vague over there. We thank God for your zero spam technical board. But don't forget they will occur when the board is populated. But for now the users in that board are few and when they are more then you definitely see more.

Although the spam is very small, there is very little activity as well.
I really miss technical questions like "" I am having a problem with a wallet. Please help me"

Spam is usually more focused on some specific subforums. I'm not saying that we never find spam in the subforum moderated by @bitmover, but depending on the type of spam, like new memecoins, the spam is concentrated in the memecoin subforum, it's just an example. We can also find spam that is posted in many subforums, but this type of spam is always easier to eliminate, since you only have to go to the list of posts of that user. The more activity a subforum has, the more spam it receives.

There are different types of spam, first is the obvious one to everyone, and other one is more subtle and created by members who are using AI generated and semi-plagiarized posts.
When you first look at them they appear to be fine, but cheking whole post history can reveal what they are doing to write generate more posts, that is usually for signature campaign.

Had to bump this one, was frustrating to read some of these comments regarding the perception of admin/GM roles.
I don't think we've ever concerned ourselves with being transparent over how the forum is moderated, but maybe we could do better to present this information.
I apologize again, I do not know how the forum works since we have been here for only two months.

Just to clarify, I can guarantee that no newly teleported members will become GM in a hurry. First users become Jnr Mods, as a kind of provisional measure, which effectively means they can moderate the forum but not moderate users with warnings and such. Secondly, they become a full mod as part of the modz group based on a successful probationary period, that usually lasts 6-12 months but can be longer depending on performance, which grants them powers to moderate users. Finally, they can become eligible for GM based on a GM vote, which effectively only ever happens for the top mod. I'd say roughly this takes 2-3 years minimum of moderating to become a GM, with Freemind probably being the quickest user to gain that status so far. Aside from freemind, the GMs have mostly all been around since 2017/2018, and it seems we currently have enough (aside from Jokers not being there quite yet (https://www.altcoinstalks.com/index.php?topic=297477.0)).

As Freemind already said, this couldn't be further from the truth. In summary admin is the laziest mod ever; rarely moves/deletes topics, almost never warns users or otherwise, even if handles some things personally from time to time, this is left to the GMs. Because admin is busy administrating and these tasks are delegated to global mods. Overall there is so much backend work that isn't seen beyond moving topics around such as warning logs, moderating users under misbehaving when warnings fail, giving out strikes to those who continue to misbehave as examples. Most of us have the ability to block users from posting using 3 strikes or spammer group, which is effectively the same as a ban (apart from Freemind lol, what is with that? [resolved]]). So the GM badge is certainly not decorative, even if some users do more than others, and it is taken anyway based on lack of activity (I only recently got mine back for example).
If you want to be considered to GM than become a jnr mod or local mod and go from there basically, and give it a few years...

The administrator has already resolved the issue of the 3 strikes (and also other things), I just saw it in the rights granted. I didn't have any problems with that anyway, I don't know if you know of a group called Under Review. And remember what my fists are made of :o

Yes I've just learnt of Under Review courtesy of Jokers explaining it to me, given it's the same result as 3 strikes or spammers membership group I realise how it's covered this in the meantime. 800+ members (state secrets) is certainly no small number of users who have been banned from posting that's for sure. You've easily beaten my contributions to misbehaving and 3 strikes over several years so congrats!
I've otherwise mainly caught up and see that you and Jokers have been main mods of the forum in recent months, good work to you both. I also wouldn't have expected anything less to be honest. The iron fist has otherwise prevailed it seems, there are perks to being President after all. Something in the air tells me there could be a new VP in town sooner rather than later as well.
Finally I'm glad that this forum didn't go soft against spammers and plagiarists in my absence. I'd like to think I wasn't a soft gm or president, so I'm glad to see standards are being upheld as well as raised here. it's otherwise nice to see that my suggestions and requests are being met so far, long may that continue :)

The truth is that Jokers is still a moderating machine, and I can also see far on the horizon that the time is not far away when he will have some badge that he hasn't had yet, personally I think he is an example to follow.
I had some health problems last year, but fortunately since November/December I have recovered quite quickly, I am now a new creature with better fists ;)

Very true. I'm also relieved to be able to come and back and not feel responsible for most of the moderating to be honest, the best thing I did was have a long break after becoming completely burnt out. I only hope that Jokers doesn't get burnt out here, as being a moderating machine often has time limits (at least from my experience). Hopefully I can focus some effort on helping to organise the forum and things instead, which is always what I preferred anyway. If I never send a warning to a user again, give a strike, or add a user to misbehaving, I'd be more than happy. Post-presidential roles suit me better now I think, especially knowing it's optional :)

Glad to hear you've recovered, sounds like the right timing for when the forum picked up again. Also if you think I'm overstepping my mark in anyway, just shout at me ;)
