Title: What's your take on people who says cryptocurrencies have no practical usage?
Post by: Shezcute Abbie on February 19, 2024, 01:45:10 PM

It surprises me that some people still do not see the practical uses of cryptocurrencies. While there are cryptocurrencies without real-world utility, many cryptocurrencies and blockchain-based services enable practical, everyday usage. For example, online payment platforms like Ivendpay support multiple cryptocurrencies, giving users more options for making purchases. This provides flexibility and convenience - customers can pay with their preferred currency. By accepting various digital tokens, merchants also open their products and services to a wider customer base. So in many ways, cryptocurrencies already have practical applications for payments, purchases, and real-world financial transactions. The growing adoption of services like Ivendpay demonstrates the real-world usefulness of cryptocurrencies beyond speculation.

You cant blame some people because of their ignorance, they never give it a trial to attempt on cryptocurrencies and have a little taste on how its important on this perilous centralized economy system of fiat, for someone who don't know what he is missing out, he cant value that particular thing until he discover the benefits and try out with the benefit of doubt, those that were always found in this category are the ones not ready for taking decision, instead they are busy running away from taking risk.

I opened a thread in order to explore cryptocurrencies' usage that goes beyond trading:

Beside trading, what's the point of cryptos for ordinary people and businesses? (https://www.altcoinstalks.com/index.php?topic=315042.0)

I think when you talk about practical, everyday usage you are addressing ordinary people and little businesses.
One of the reasons why people are not aware of the practical uses of cryptos is that within crypto communities focus is more on making money than on potential benefits of cryptocurrencies for society or economy.

People who doesn't know about it, hesitant, uninterested, one sided, and has this tunnel vision with centralized assets does not really care about the practical uses of cryptocurrency. One day these kind of people will realize how stupid they are for ignoring the potential of cryptocurrency. We have already witnessed how profitable and useful crypto is in the present days so how much more in the future right?

Absolutely! I really can't wait for that big day when their eyes will be opened to the numerous usage of crypto. The space is evolving on a daily basis so you can imagine what the future holds in store for us.

Well said, the community needs to be more informed to and see the use of crypto and its adoption. And these cryptocurrency creators too need to do proper marketing for awareness of these good cryptos. For example, I've seen Bitget announcing the listing of this coin you mentioned if it meets the required liquidity, I think they can do more by going out louder to make their potential known to the community. That can't be enough to carry the whole people along.

First of all: I have never used Ivendpay so I don't have any experience or reviews. Check out the reviews and be cautious of new applications in the crypto market!

Back to the problem: now that the internet is popular and Google is still maintaining a free policy for users, everyone can search for information easily on many websites or Youtube in many languages. If a person really wants to learn the uses of crypto, he will find that information and does not need our opinion.

On the contrary, if he does not want to learn or simply does not want to believe, he will deny everything. In this case, I won't care, I won't explain to someone who doesn't want to understand. He has the right to his own opinion, his cognitive development has no emotional or financial impact on me.

People who say crypto has no practical use are people who don't know much about crypto. if he has entered the world of crypto and he starts investing, then he will say crypto has practical uses...
Crypto is now widely used by people for transactions in payments or transactions between companies because crypto is so technologically advanced... I'm sure all companies and even countries will use blockchain technology even though there are countries that don't yet allow it as an online payment.

That's right, people who say that are very stupid because nowadays things are getting more sophisticated, why do they want to continue to be like that and don't want to look for lots of new technological updates in this day and age... if people are familiar with crypto, it is very likely that it can change their economic life and not only that. also know about technological advances in this world.

People who hold this opinion are usually from privileged backgrounds who have easy access to banking and traditional finance. They've never had to jump through all kinds of hoops just to transfer a few hundred dollars to a family member in a different country. It's easy for them to be ignorant and just smugly dismiss the needs of a great percentage of the population. Being able to access and transfer your own money without needing permission from anybody else should be a fundamental human right. With compliance standards becoming increasingly stricter it might just be a matter of time before people come to understand why Bitcoin is so important, and hopefully they will not have already given up too many freedoms when that happens.

If you check the crypto market, half of investors don't know what they buy, some just buy coins because there friends say they should buy and they believe it will go up in the future, some don't even know anything about the team or about the product behind what the coin they bought and I don't blame them, the quick money in crypto makes them lazy to when do normal research.

However, some products are not user friendly, aside from buying and selling, many coins don't have much to offer. Even the merchants only allow buying and selling and that's all. Sometimes, even the products are very costly because the merchant are taking advantage of people, instead of them to sell normal price, they charge higher which discourage people from using them.

They are still skeptical about crypto-currencies and that's why they don't understand the importance of crypto-currencies. The ones who don't use something can't really understand that how powerful that thing is. Those people won't be able to understand crypto-currencies and their use unless they don't get involved in crypto-currencies themselves.

For example, online payment platforms like Ivendpay support multiple cryptocurrencies, giving users more options for making purchases.
I have never used that platform personally and I haven't heard about them at all but I can surely say that I have used crypto payment gateway life BitPay and they have really allowed me to purchase many goods from online stores. If you are a domain investor or want a web-hosting for your domain then with the help of BitPay you can purchase such domain name from Namecheap without any issue.

Yeah Bitpay too! I've used Bitpay at some point, I checked them recently. I think you should check out Ivendpay as they support various cryptocurrencies. They've got a native token too (IVPAY) currently trading on Bitget.

We have all of these yet people still close their eyes to them.

This too is an issue to look out for that's why I said that the usage of crypto is subjective to the crypto in question as not all of them have something to offer. I'm just debunking the falsehood surrounding crypto in general.

You can bet that I've heard this same opinion from people who aren't from a well to do background. They just believe that crypto in general have no real usage. You can't even convince them lol

It's not everybody that's aware of the crypto world so you don't have to blame them for that, speaking of the pratical usage how can you understand something when you don't have it or use it so it will look less important and of no value to you, people who have the opportunity to get this ideals are from rich home those who have the privilege and are exposed to things .

We can not expect all people to have the same mindset and conviction most especially with something relatively new like cryptocurrency which unlike fiat money can not be seen, touched and feel. To many people, cryptocurrency is just an idea floating on the air with no solid background behind it and whose value can be questionable. I am sure it can be taking decades before we can see majority of the people really adopting cryptocurrency for their everyday lives and not just an investment vehicle like what Bitcoin is now. And yes, you could not blame people as they are not educated of cryptocurrency plus most likely they heard of their government and even banks giving off warning for people not to get involved with cryptocurrency as this can be possibly scam and fraud - undeniably this is a big black eye in our industry as greedy people are now congregating in this industry to victimize people not to mention the big hacks in big crypto platforms by other countries like North Korea. In conclusion, cryptocurrency is open to all regardless of race, age, sex, economic standing but may not be for all people.

Ignoring those kinds of people, don't waste your time with that kind of person either, because you also have no obligation to explain crypto to other people. Besides, we know more about it than they do. In short, we're the ones who saw it; we're the ones who discovered it, not them; we're the ones who will benefit, and neither are they. It's that simple.

Just work on the interest you have here in cryptocurrency, as long as you just pursue what you see as good in this field of the crypto space, honestly, dude.

All i can say is they're either naive or ignorant. Although if they read intentional news sometimes, they should have encounter news about practical cryptocurrnecy usage. For example,
https://www.businessinsider.com/afghanistan-women-turn-to-cryptocurrency-to-feed-their-families-2022-1 (https://www.businessinsider.com/afghanistan-women-turn-to-cryptocurrency-to-feed-their-families-2022-1)

And since you're talking about online payment, it's worth to mention cryptocurrency is good alternative for people who don't have access to international payment.

Yes, when a person is not interested in cryptocurrencies and the crypto industry in general, it is difficult to explain and prove something to him. Many people have conservative views on many things. As a rule, they are not interested in new things. But now you can buy a huge number of goods with cryptocurrencies, even taxes are paid with cryptocurrencies.

I will answer your question. To begin with, I have been in the cryptocurrency world since 2013, i.e. I know, I participate, I understand what it’s about.

But the most interesting thing is that I, for example, am partially of the opinion that for practical use (as a fiat currency for daily use), the situation and prospects for cryptocurrencies are not very positive.
Yes, I agree that solutions based on blockchain technologies can be used where banking services are poorly developed, unsafe, expensive, and slow. But in this case, using classic cryptocurrencies is also not a very good option. A simple question - you went to the store and bought groceries for, say, $10. Are you willing to pay $10 for products and $30 in network commission? Therefore, here we need to talk about tailored solutions, with a simple method of use, low commissions, high speed

For me, cryptocurrency is an investment asset that can provide additional income.
