If you have holdings of bitcoin in the long term, you should also have a timeframe for when you plan to sell it. If you don't have a sales target, your wait as a holder may be for naught. Instead of having an income, you will lose it because of the greed that exists or that we introduce into our behavior.
Because there are others who, when they see it rising, act on the greed that they think will continue, which is usually where they fail most of the time.

By talking about the 'state' of bitcoin I had originally understood it to mean something broader than price, such as usage, adoption and regulations, for example. But since with the 'state' of bitcoin the OP is referring to the price, I will tell you that I think the peak of the bull market will be in the mid-100s and I agree with gunhell16 that it is better to have a temporary plan for when to sell. For someone who starts buying bitcoin now I would recommend at least a couple of cycles, and even then you can consider not selling everything, because so far and since 2009 there is nothing more profitable than bitcoin (which could change).

This is quite true with crypto investors who are new or who have neglected to know the thing they are getting into. All the information can be found on the internet and just getting into this forum can surely give one a feel of the market especially its many ups and downs. Just like anything in life, there is an entrance door and there is also an exit...knowing when to go in and when to go out can spell a lot whether one can experience the many benefits of cryptocurrency or be stuck in a position which can be so hard to get out without incurring loss. Though because we are dealing with Bitcoin and is very volatile, it can be a little bit difficult to figure out at what price will BTC peak in the bullish season and when it would be best to convert it to cash or sometimes other coins, if possible. In business - and cryptocurrency is a business - one must deal with an exit plan as without it is like planning to fail. As for me, I am predicting that there is a big chance for BTC to hit more than $100K this time around and if I would decide when to go maybe at around $110K. Now, of course, I can be wrong, but it is better be wrong and still make a good profit rather than be right and yet not making anything at all.

Let's first see how much the price of bitcoin hits ATH during the bullish season. By looking at that price we can predict the bottom price when it is bearish. Looking at the current price movement of bitcoin before the bitcoin halving, I think bitcoin will touch $75K during the halving, possibly if that happens bitcoin will touch the ATH at $200K. It is possible that during a bearish season the price of bitcoin will be around $ 30K.

None of us knows what the upcoming bull run price will be or when will it be because after the bull run, the price of bitcoin begins to decline gradually throughout the bearish season that will last up 2-3years until when the halving season starts.
That's why we are all advised to have a set price to sell our bitcoin at a high price because the moment we miss selling our bitcoin when the bull run is over, we won't see it again(the bull run), till another halving season(4 years) comes.

You are talking about when the bull run ends, so what previous price are you talking about, since you cannot be talking about the all time high. I am having a hard time understanding you, though when the bull run is over, BTC price will start dropping, but i don't know how low it would fall and what price it would be then, just wait until the bear run.

I literally can't find this as a direct question. If I may ask, how do we know when the bull market has ended? Because during the bull market, especially after halving, we usually get a new ATH of Bitcoin price. We only start to notice the bear market when the price continues to drop significantly.
The appropriate question should have been: what would be the ATH during the bull market. Certainly, we can't tell the ATH during a bull market, but there should certainly be an ATH.

As for me, I am predicting that there is a big chance for BTC to hit more than $100K this time around and if I would decide when to go maybe at around $110K. Now, of course, I can be wrong, but it is better be wrong and still make a good profit rather than be right and yet not making anything at all.
Yeah there really is a huge possibility given that it is just the beginning of the first quarter of the year but price is rallying and currently hits more than $60k. For my personal preference I would like to TP at $100k if ever it will reach that price range and I am good with that possible return.

It will depend on the peak of the bull market.
During the last cycle back in 2021-2022, the market went down to as low as 77%.
Whatever the peak of the bull market will be, I expect that the market will go down to around 70%-80% of its peak price. Of course, this isn't accurate, and I just based it on history, but one thing's for sure, the lowest point at that time will not be the same as the one that we saw 2 years ago. I also think that the last time we saw Bitcoin at $20,000 will be the last time that we will be seeing it at that price again. We might not see Bitcoin going as low as $20,000 anymore.
TBH, I'm a bit surprised, and I might believe what others are saying now that we might surpass its past ATH even before the halving even started. :D

Yeah, bitcoin will touch new ATH at bullish season next year. We didn't know how much bitcoin will touch new ATH. Because many predictions about it. When will the bull run end? of course after bitcoin touched the new ATH. Bearish possibility will occur next year. But we should focus on the ATH that Bitcoin will reach before thinking about when the bull run will end. Lets see.

Every person will have a different opinion and prediction about this and their predictions will be based on several factors including their carried out research and analysis, gut feelings, market sentiments that they can see and observe, and many other things that one might think about when they are creating an opinion or making a prediction about the future price of a cryptocurrency, especially Bitcoin which is always the talk of the town.
If you talk about expectations, of course we expect the price of Bitcoin to be in a better position than the previous all-time high because we have waited a whole cycle for this and we deserve to see something epic, but if you talk about reality, we can't know.

If you want to get an idea about BTC price then you should not ask about when the bull run will end, instead, you should ask when the Bull run will start and when BTC can make its ATH before the bull run ends. And talking about the last statement of yours, I am agree with you because considering the previous patterns of BTC price, it always surpassed its last time ATH in the next bull run after the halving. But this time I think BTC will make a new ATH before the halving.
But that's not it, BTC will make a higher ATH after the halving, many predicted it can touch $100k and I am one of them, but few says it can touch $150k as well. Actually I am started to agree with this prediction too. ETFs, halving, and other factors will drive the price of BTC to new heights and we should take some entries to make some profits. Although DCA and diversification are better option for a newbie to do to avoid risks.

Why should we talk about the end of the bull market when it has not yet even started, we needed more time till we see the way we go forward from now till the bullrun and then we begin to analyze on the aftermath of the bull season, for now, more speculations and discussions were centered towards the upcoming bullrun, so we may safe ourself the pace of waiting and concentrate more on speculating towards the bullrun then we go from there further.

No one knows that what will be the price of bitcoin after Bull season and at which price the Bull season will stops and bitcoin will not grow more. We neither know about the most lower price nor know about most higher price so in such situations if we planned a target to sell our bitcoin then it will be beneficial for us.
Most of the people loss the opportunity just because of their unawareness about the initiation and end of Bull season. We just know that bitcoin is in Bull season but what will happen next is unpredictable even we don't know that price will go further higher or will stop here. So take the advantage whenever your target get achieved and you feel that now you can easily get huge profit from your investment.

This question is subjective to different opinions because we all have different believe to how Bitcoin has been since we know of it existence but I'm certain about Bitcoin that it will always remain bullish even after the bull run because even in th last bull run, Bitcoin didn't crash until Chinese and other unnecessary ban that invited fear into investors mind.
If people don't sell most of their Bitcoin, it can remain about the previous all time high which was believed to be a round $68k but we know that many would sell, they will not allow the same mistake of last bullrun to happen again, they have the chance to get out with profit or even with other investment.

With institutions and fund managers holding most of the bitcoin supply after the coming bull run, I do not expect bitcoin to drop very lower from its potential new all time high, not to talk about it droping below it's current all time high which is still around $68,000 for some, and $69,000 for some.
If lets say that bitcoin manages to create a new all time high price of $150k in the coming bull run, and after that, we enter a bear season, with most of the bitcoin supply held by fund managers, institutions and governments around the world, I do not expect the price of bitcoin to drop below $100,000 to $90,000 all through the bear season, infact, I am expecting the price of bitcoin to relatively become far more stable than it has ever been after the coming bull run.

When the bull market starts dipping we all know what to expect in terms of price speculation and I believe that the price is definitely going to go lower than what we have seen and I would even prefer withdrawing my coins and saving the money by getting another fixed asset like land which has the massive tendency to increase in value so I will not be tempted to touch it and then use the capital plus the profits and purchase Bitcoin when it's low again and do what every crypto enthusiast do which is to buy the dip and hold it and only God knows how long.

If Bitcoin price should go down, there are plenty of traders that will make money from it because they trade futures mostly all the time. It's not all the time Bitcoin price go down people don't make money, only the holder get affected with this but some traders like even the margin traders does make money from this advantage.
If Bitcoin price doesn't go down, even the new investors will not have the opportunity to buy Bitcoin at lower prices. We are still in the beginning of bullrun but I will continue advice anyone holding to be selling some portion of their Bitcoin when they have the opportunity, nobody die if they sell Bitcoin with profits.
