Misconduct is a major problem in Nigeria, and it's affected buy a wide range of areas, from education to politics and businesses. Corruption are common, and there is no accountability for those who practice misconduct. Many people feels there is a culture all that allows bad behavior to go unpunished. One way to solve misconduct in Nigeria is by increasing the transparency and accountability. Like there focus on the information about government spending, should be made public. There should be strict enforcement of anti corruption laws. Additional business should do well as to encourage ethical behavior, educational institution should also promote ethics and integrity. Are there other way to address misconduct in Nigeria?

Call it misconduct or corruption it's one of the greatest problem of the country as there's no respect and regard for for the rules of law as people can do anything and goes cut free. Corruption is at it best with public office holders not been accountable with fund's that is allocated to their offices generally speaking misconduct is what is even making the economy of the country to be in a bad shape because there is no good people who can improve the economy of the country as all that those in public offices do is to loot the common wealth of the nation
Misconduct in Nigeria can only be corrected when we have strong laws and institutions that everyone will be subject to and punish offenders of the nation's law because the truth of the matter is the present laws in the country is too week and lack the capacity to sanitize the country

We all pray for better governance for the country but to this scenario it will be very difficult to try and eradicate corruption. Trying to put end to this corruption will really benefit the nation and the citizens in general but it will take a very long period of time to stop it . Bad governance and economic crisis are very bad situation to the country every body are really trying to get their pocket filled and forgetting why they were put in that position it very painful and citizens are suffering the consequences which ain’t supposed to be that way .
We really are praying for upper respiratory to come and help this nation filled with corruption and incompetence and serious punishment should be brought to consideration as the OP said .

Corrupt practices have assumed a worthy foe in Nigeria and threatened the wasps nest of the economy and the general populace’s leadership credibility. It is imperative to enhance the enforcement of fair and firm laws and institutions that should be used to prosecutorial violative and bring accountability of all the Public Office Holders. Therefore, through developing a legal system, there is a possibility of bringing a new and negative impact by practicing integrity for the future generation of the country.

I will not generalized, but I will only say 90% of Nigeria citizens are involved in one misconduct act or the other. is not only rich people that go against the law, poor people also do the same. The image of the country is at stake, a lot of citizens are committing crime day by day, by involving themselves in unlawful act e.g corruption, bribery, kidnapping, extortion, money laundering, examination malpractice, arm robbery, drug addiction, discrimination, human trafficking, child abuse, fraudulent and so on. Especially now that we are experiencing bad governments, it is going to be difficult For this country to develop, improve and recover economically because governments also plays an important role in corruption.

This is peculiar to many countries, it just differs how deeply citizens of such nations are involving themselves in it. With statistical data and evidence, there’s no way you can be so sure that about 90% of the Nigerias are involved in misconduct. I disagree with that number even if what you’re saying is true about some Nigerians. The state of the economy can be the reason for that but also poor upbringing and environmental factors, peer groups can influence that to happen.
Especially now that we are experiencing bad governments, it is going to be difficult For this country to develop, improve and recover economically because governments also plays an important role in corruption.
The government may be contributing to the current state of affairs in the country and also will have a major role to play in tackling it. But things like this are better tackled from the grassroot when the bigger tier of government may not have much effect on even though they’re also corrupt and would not want to be blamed for anything. The Nigerian government are showing that they’re trying their best to make things work accordingly, we can only hope that they do the right thing and get all things straight on deck.

There should be strict enforcement of anti corruption laws. Additional business should do well as to encourage ethical behavior, educational institution should also promote ethics and integrity. Are there other way to address misconduct in Nigeria?
Many rules are usually made in the country; the problem always lies with enforcement because officials in charge of enforcements of these laws are always corrupt. Misconduct in Nigeria will begin to stop when people begin to see that our leaders, who are in charge of leadership in any position they find themselves in, are upright and leading the way they should. Our leaders do not set good examples for us; this is why it has been difficult for them to preach ethical behaviour to us.

When there are transformations, it is only reasonable to expect that the change will be led by great leadership and integrity. This means that when our leaders determine to be honorable and practice the principles of integrity, they encourage corporate and appropriate behavior. It is far easier to develop a corporate culture that is law abiding if the leadership is honest, has integrity and is operating in the best interest of everyone as opposed to just the company. By this partnership social justice may very soon be as we all wish to see it, a future where we all are able to tangibly feel the difference.

And what they've preferred to do is to, is to force these laws on the citizens. The truth is, it will be a very difficult task to enforce a general law that will govern every man in this country, including the people in power. You know, one thing about this country, once you have money, or you know somebody in government, or you are part of the government, then it automatically means that certain rules doesn't guide you. A little example is how official vehicles blow past traffic lights while others are patiently waiting, which doesn't sounds like a big deal at all, but it's actually part of the lawless attitude we are talking about.

Firm Fairness is one of the biggest steps towards more justice within this nation and small but long strides are being made everyday in the protection of citizens and our rights. It is a prerequisite of legal certainty that we all have the right to equal non-discrimination. As simple as adhering to traffic signals, it is appreciation for the law, and creates even firmer base of disciplined society.

It would be very difficult to fight corruption in this country when virtually all the agencies are manned by the loyalist of our leaders and are dancing to the tone of their paymasters. They are answerable to their bosses in different ways so they ought not to fight the system that put them in place.
These are the reasons why most of these enforcement agencies are just not proactive in situations that needs to be attended to with matter of utmost urgency because most of the cases reported are somehow connected to their bosses or anyone related to their bosses which their bosses are in one way or the other involved in. I have witnessed someone saying that they went to report a case in the station and they were told that they should not bother to continue with it because it is bigger than them because of the names mentioned. With all these, how do we fix up the nation when at this point?

We as a country is currently this way due to the fact that we have weak institutions as a country because the the law is weak and non-existent in the country over time people have grown with that mindset and it has become a lifestyle and culture in the country for us to be misbehaving and doing things upside down until we come to the point where the law will be strong to hold people to accountable we can't have a society that will be under sanity and decorum

Leaders of tomorrow keh ?, When the same people who has been in government are still the same people we are seeing now. Politics in this country has become a profession, as those in power don't even want to involve themselves in other things outside that. I think this is a reflection of why the youths don't want to get skill, but rather see fraud as a reigning means to survive, which is not in anyway too different from politics. No moral values in this current society because the government who ought to show good examples are toying around.

I agreed with your facts that the leaders who ruled yesterday are still the same faces we see ruling today because youths are not being given opportunities. However, this shouldn't be the reason we give up that youths won't take over one day because our fates are not meant to be the same, and if you're not careful, the youths who are misbehaving now will have an opportunity to rule one day. Just imagine of how the country will change negatively.
How will youths learn skills if they do not have support? Many youths today have no desire of learning skills because they believe they will only make a small amount of money. Instead, they are all focused on how to become millionaires overnight, which has led many of them to engaged in fraudulent activities.

What you see I child do is learnt from his elders and parents while growing up so our youths have become who they are all because of our so called political leaders has been doing over the years imagine one person stealing billions of naira with properties all over the country and investment abroad with his wife and children schooling in the best schools in the world and when they come to the country they move about with security personnel who intimidate innocent Nigerian so the younger generation too will have to look for a way on how they will survive and make money and live their life's like that of the politicians so nobody should blame the youths on what has happened in the country as they has only learn it from the political leaders from the country while growing up

Corruption are common, and there is no accountability for those who practice misconduct. Many people feels there is a culture all that allows bad behavior to go unpunished. One way to solve misconduct in Nigeria is by increasing the transparency and accountability.
It is unfortunate that, as you mentioned, corruption pervades all sectors of Nigeria, and everyone sees opportunities as a means to accumulate wealth, giving the impression that corruption is the only attitude passed down from generation to generation. This has given the impression that those few who do not engage in corruption are viewed as fools and thus are not celebrated.
Everyone wants to be corrupt in order to survive, which explains the country's high rate of misconduct. Nobody is held accountable for his misconduct, and those who are forced to be accountable after holding a specific portfolio are forced to do so not for the interest of the country, but rather to witch-hunt an enemy.

Misconduct is a very serious problem which the country is really suffering from. Inorder t address this issue I believe that strict disciplinary committee should be set up. No own should be above the discipline. The rule of law state that everyone is equal before the law, so therefore everyone should be equal is one engage in misconduct even if it it the president of a country he or she should be severely punished.

Welcome to 9ja the home of bribery and corruption. Even if a disciplinary committee is set up it still would make no difference because the right will still be able to bribe their way through in extreme cases, they may even pin the case on a less privilege or poorer citizens.
With the way the country is I don't think misconduct is something that can easily be dealt with in the country.

When bathing, the water is poured on the head, and it flows down the body to the feet.
Handling corruption in the country should start from the leaders in the country, from the President to his Vice, governors, councilors, chairmen, Senates, even down to the military sector and all other government officials outside leadership (like in the educational system, health sector, power sector etc.) of the country. If this new body can maintain its stand in checkmating the proper functionality of the entire bodies that needs checking. When the citizens see proper punishments given to those in power, they will adjust to every new rule given them, with failure to these rules, punishment for such failure will be implemented.

This is the first step for a country seeking to progress and rise above corruption. Corruption is on the rise because corrupt people have government backing, so corruption will always exist. Even when people are appointed to fight corruption, they only appear to fight corruption or target opponents of the current government.
When individuals in government are willing to bring about the greatest happiness of the greatest number, then every other unit will work well because when people are happy, they function better and commit fewer crimes, including corrupt practices.

The law is against the citizens of Nigeria and the politicians can do anything and go free. And what causes the misconduct is the misappropriation of funds and nepotism. Those who are ready to develop the country and ready to work in the country are not accepted in the institutions to develop the country and those who are really ready to work and speak for the country are tagged as bad legislators and when can see that in the present National House of Assembly.
For Nigeria to come out from this mess. APC have to be removed and the present leadership. Akpabio is not for the citizens but for the executive.

In practice, I agree that Nigerian law is geared toward the poor. I have seen the rich break the law and not be prosecuted, but the poor are treated differently. When it comes to the poor, the law is clear; when it comes to the rich, however, it is interpreted to protect the rich.
In Nigeria, politics has been misinterpreted. It is now a money-making channel rather than a channel for national promotion. In fact, even when a leader is doing the right thing, some people are frustrated because they do not have access to the country's treasury.

Truly politics is misunderstood not by the people but for those that called themselves the politicians because they believe that since they have become a politician they can never be the same as others and will no longer be touchable and that the purpose of there work is extortion, however in as much as two party is our problem removing them cannot also solve any problem because there so many other parties to join and continue there deed from there so is very hard to run away from those people.

It is bad that people going into politics only for selfish reason. This is why regardless of the change of government things still continue to go bad. Politicians have this mentality that once they attain the position of leadership, it is their turn to syphon public wealth at the detriment of the masses.
Even if leadership is rotated across parties, it changes nothing because the mindset of all politicians are the same. Politicians will always sugar coat their speech to make them appear different but on winning it is still the same kind of leader we have always had.

Like seriously, talking about disciplinary committee in Nigeria. When it comes to setting up disciplinary committee in Nigeria even the system of government need discipline. And if the disciplinary committee cannot hold the government accountable, what is the point of disciplining the citizen. The government can bribe the disciplinary committee to silence them, even if the government is guilty. They only have the power to discipline the poor who can't offer them anything. But what can I say? "INJUSTICE" that is another name for Nigeria. All this is an act of misconduct.

Exactly, the issue of misconduct can be address from the top to the bottom, from the government down to the citizens. If the government is well disciplined then the citizens will also learn from them. Because the government sets the tone for the country and also contribute greatly to misconduct in the country, yet they feel superior thinking that no one can hold them accountable for their mistakes, because they have what it takes to shout their mouth. If the leaders didn't engage in illegal activities, than the citizens would be less likely to participate in such activities as well.

We can have this discussion all the day but nothing will change in the country because is a national problem to our society and out of 100 percent population of the country 80 percent has it, misconduct is not even only about looting money as the politicians in the government is doing but about the way of life's of some people, stealing other people's belongings, lying to cover their bad deeds, using other people's identity to disguise themselves, there are so many other things I have not mention yet and a lot of people has it.

When people are happy and every necessity of life is made available, the rate of corruption in the society will reduce. When there is job for the masses, everyone will be busy, doing something, and at that, no one will have the time or chance to think or do things of ill report. Bad eggs are always found in the society, there will be crimes, but at this little pace, it can be easily tackled, but for the government to follow the laws which they laid down is a problem, and which is affecting the people of the country.
It is certain that corruption cannot be stopped in a country, cause even in developed countries today, they still have corruption in their system, but it is not made public for other countries to easily see or figure out. The leaders of the country knows exactly what to do for this country to be well recognized amongst others, but their self-centeredness has blinded their eyes against anything that is good.

There is a saying that says, "change begins with you"; the change we clamour for begins with us when we do the right thing as it is done. You are right that we are talking about the leaders when individual amongst the populace, things are going wrong. Everyone is acting as if they do not care and do not bother about societal values and ethics. All you have said is not far from the truth, and as long as we take the bold step to correct this impression of all these doings, things would still be the same ay in the country.

It is true that every person plays an individual part in becoming the change that is needed however this, of course does not work if society is moving in a different direction. When values are not valued or practised properly in the society, it comes as a shocker that leaders will also turn a blind eye to their role in achievement. This confirms that changing the mindset of the client is something that has to be done collectively so that each action leads to a significant change. To make a nation progress, a country demands actual support from one and every individual citizen.

very well in some aspects every individual or citizens of the country needs to play a vital role in our nation. We rise by lifting others that how the saying goes right. If we try and help each other and not cheat ourselves then the stability we need in the country will be very achievable. But we try to take advantage of ourselves by rising the goods and services we rendered to each other which is a very big mistake that affect the economy and bring many negative results to the nation. The government are also to be blame and they are the heads of the negativity happening in the nation but the citizens also hold big responsibilities too. If we really need to achieve something beneficial for the nation then we have to start with helping ourselves and be our brothers keeper and lookout for them and rise them with us.

When we take advantage of ourselves and our lapses, how do we expect the change to occur, because definitely there must be a payback in retaliation, and this is the case in our nation. If we as individuals would take it amongst ourselves to make sure things are done properly, calling the government to order, making sure due process is followed without cutting corners, I think we could get something meaningful out of this struggle to liberate our nation from this menace.

The thing is that if individuals decide to help each other there will be peace and harmony among them but the reality is that what someone is doing for another person is not always sufficient to make the person cope with the challenges of life and this is where government comes to play.
There are basic things expected of the government and when the government is not providing these basics people are affected regardless of what they benefit from other citizens. Issues of road, healthcare, electricity can cause instability in the country.
