Title: How Do You View Young Female Sports Gamblers?
Post by: DragonF on March 13, 2024, 03:38:10 PM
Yesterday during the Champions League game between Arsenal and FC Porto, I saw a girl between the ages of 19 and 23 checking her betting ticket even thought she has the legal right to gamble since she is above 18years, it still appeared so awkward to me. I had so many concerns going on in my mind. I was worried that such a young girl would be gambling and also boldly checking her ticket in a viewing centre. I wondered how she gets money to gamble. I wonder what will become of her if she gets addicted to gambling. I also wondered if her parents are aware that she is into sports betting regardless that she is of legal age. I want to hear your views on how you perceive young female sports gamblers.

You would better post from what country you are from, because in my country, anyone who is 18+ is able to gamble, anyone who is 18+ is able to work legally (kids can start working earlier with the written accept from parents). So I see nothing extra ordinary from a 19-23 years old woman spending her money.

So what do you really wants to hear? That an adults gambles or spends money? There is nothing much to discuss actually.

We would better discuss, why you think that a person 19-23 years old must be under supervision of parents.

Reason why age 19-23 will still be under supervision of parents, because they are just crossing the adolescence stage into being an adult, they can still be supervised because they are just crossing into  adulthood, so they can still be under checked by their parents or guidance, to guide them on the part they have to follow and to succeed,as an  adolescent which just grow into adulthood. That's my opinion.

I wondered how she gets money to gamble.
I wonder what will become of her if she gets addicted to gambling.
I also wondered if her parents are aware that she is into sports betting regardless that she is of legal age.

And why do you are what others do?
I can already imagine how you stared at the poor girl who was just trying to have the same fun as you did and keep analyzing her!

Seriously, what 's wrong with people these days?
She does what she does and it's none of your damn business, how would it be if everyone would analyze you from head to toe and whisper around while smiling at each other, would still feel comfortable or you would run away?

Being 18 means he is an adult and when he becomes an adult he will have the capacity to make his own decisions. There are many girls who regularly bet for different teams. I have also seen many minors who sit together and bet for different teams, not only do they play online gambling but they play online gambling as well as various offline gambling. Maybe all the betting sites that have an option to confirm the age of 18 plus at the time of sign up, a user can easily confirm himself 18 plus and then make an account. However, even if the account is confirmed to be 18 plus, not all users are 18 plus.

We are living in modern times where a woman has equal rights to men, what men have and can do, women can do and have also, here in our country where gambling is legal it is not something to be surprised about, they deserve equal respect and its none of our business if they want to gamble and where do they get money to gamble or what will they become in the future, it's their life and they are responsible for it.

I'll give you some advice on this. Don't view women as another species or some kind of human that is different from men. View them as equal, if you see a woman enjoying his gambling activity, let her be and don't be concerned about what might happen to her. Be concerned about yourself and your own gambling.

They are not different from us. They can do everything they want and gamble as much as they want. If they get addicted, it's their own choice and it is not something for a man like me or yourself to be concerned about.

Personally I don't see anything wrong with female gambling as far as such girl falls within the age that's permitted to gamble and again hence she can control her limit of not becoming an addict there is nothing wrong with that.
I know that in different countries or environment people see this in different perspective but what matters in gambling is the ability of the individual involved to control the urge of always chasing loses and going for more.
Less we forget, most people see gambling as a fun, so are we going to deprive them such activity, gender should not be attached in gambling but addiction should be condemned in totality.

ii you have been attracted to a girl that somewhat behaves like you when you are a teenager, i think you will also like to be with her when you are a gambler yourself. she could be your kind of girl.

someone who acts like you, understands you and i mean that's a real potential that you will be a good pair. so i don't mind it. who knows she could be a real fan of the sport, maybe even an athlete herself.

Is that a legal age in betting though in that country? If yes then I don't think it's illegal, but if it's not then we all know that underage can't and shouldn't be betting. But in any case though, gambling knows no boundaries, including gender.

Not sure if you have been in a traditional based casinos, but if you did then you know that men and women are like equal, 50/50 playing together whether in table games or slot machines.

As far as young female getting into sports betting? again, we are in the generation already that they want to do everything that man can do, including gambling. So I'm not surprised by it.

Yeah exactly. I can even see minors placing bets on legal gambling booths and establishments most specifically in illegal gambling. Most of these women or youngsters are involved in "tongits" here in our country but it's more of a normal thing here. 😅

Exactly, what's the deal with looking at her like she has no place there?

It's the same attitude with crypto, I see tons of users asking themselves why there are no women in crypto but the moment somebody asks about women trading a lot start saying that it would be better for them to do house choirs than that! Common, it's 2024, if a woman wants to gamble it's no different than a man doing so, what's next, banning them from entering a casino or a sport center...oh wait...

Most of these women or youngsters are involved in "tongits" here in our country

I'm afraid to ask what tongits are, cause I have a feeling it's something unrelated by the sound of it.

When I will be putting this in thought "girls gambling as been bad" Is when the gambling board will add to their rule that a young girl shouldn't gamble because is against their ethics of seeing young girls gambling.

When that happens, I can then know what to say when young girls gamble. Before then I don't have any bad view to that since it's a common thing we see in our today's society that men and women gamble at the same time as long as they are above 18 years.

That is pretty much the feeling your post gave me. Now I realize in many countries a 19 year old betting at a sports book is legal. I also realize most girl gamblers I meet were not very ho more or less neutral 4.5.6's not 8,9,10.

Why do you feel she has a problem.

LOL, but yeah good question as the OP was attracted and give her some thinking.

Yeah, it's legal age for some countries so they can do whatever they want to do. And the last time I checked there are also sports that female follow, like volleyball and heard them as well putting in some bets. So I would say in this generation, it's the norm now. I even followed one account in X both females, giving sports betting tips, including multi-bet.
