Title: When is bitcoin halving?
Post by: Mr. Allcrypto on March 21, 2024, 12:04:56 AM
What advice will you give to people who do holding, during the upcoming bitcoin halving?
From my research, it has been roughly estimated that Bitcoin halving will take place April, which is next month, and we know that during that time the price of but coin will reduce, and most people will loss their bitcoin if they did not sell it before that period.

Who told you about that? Never know people knew about it already.

If you are referring about the recent dump as price will "reduce" i don't think we should assume such things when bitcoin can increase 2-4k overnight based in the past few days, even it's now back at 67k after reaching 60k.
What i'm saying is nothing is sure about the price. It might dump or even increase another ATH before or after the halving. About of getting loss, stop-limit to usdt or any stablecoins is the best way.

Bitcoin halving happens every four years, where the amount of Bitcoin that are mined is cut Into half, though they are designed to control the supply of BITCOIN. I believe in the next Bitcoin halving there would be a bigger impact on the movement of Bitcoin and altcoins as a whole.

This usually happens after the halving (at least it happened in the past), because people always considered it an event that would cause the price to rise, and when it doesn't happen in the first few weeks after the halving, they start selling disappointed and the price goes down. It is also my opinion that the summer and annual vacations in the Northern Hemisphere, which occur approximately 2 months after the halving, also have their influence on the price, because then people buy much less, and sell much more cryptocurrency for travel expenses.

Bitcoin halving happens every four years...
~snip~

It would be more accurate to say that the halving happens every 210 000 blocks, which is on average every 4 years - so in 2020 we had a halving on May 11, and today's estimates show that the next halving could be April 18, 2024, which would mean that it will happen 3 weeks earlier, that is, in less than 4 years.

It is nice that we do not do without history in the cryptocurrency industry. It has so much happened in the past that before the halving or during/after the halving, there is always a significant price dump before the rice in price again, I do not dispute this. However it is important that we consider that at certain point in time history do not actually repeat itself, take for example since the creation of Bitcoin, a new all time high has never been met before having. But this time around even before having there was a new all time high in the price of Bitcoin, this is a good indication that many things have changed in the market compared to how it was when bitcoin was early created and discovered. It is still best that we keep our minds open and prepare for the worst and even the better. This is my little input.

Behold, Bitcoin is a reputable crypto coin and not like the alt and the Meme Coins that goes dump and disappears when the market has gone extremely low that Investors are scared of investing in it further.

Bitcoin is an opposite to that only that when the market price goes so low like during the halving season,  it it only optioned that the values of investors holding will be so depreciated which by mean the market grows up high again, there the depreciated values of Investors also pumps up high.
So in this case of Investing and hodling in Bitcoin, there is absolutely no lost of investors funds at their continues holdings.

Of course, past events can be a good indication of what may happen in the future, but it was quite expected that the approval of spot ETFs would lead to a significant increase in price, given that funds have to buy BTC in order to issue shares in funds. Therefore, it is important to learn from the past, but also to understand what the future brings us, because only those who adapt will succeed.

Don't be silly nobody is going to lose any coins, only miners will mine less coins.
Halving should happen in the end of April but nobody knows the exact date and time.
However, we do know that halving is at block 840,000 and while I am writing this we are currently in block number 835,690.

There isn't really anything that you should do aside from holding. We all know that the price should go up a lot during this period and if we are right then we should all be making a profit. However, that doesn't mean that we are going to make a profit right away, it could take months for us to start making a profit. I know that its going to take some time, but as long as we give it a good amount of work, then we should not be worried about it at all. Just buy and hold for months, over a year maybe, or at least just about a year, then you will see it peak and maybe start considering selling.

Yes, you’re right. The halving will happen sometime in April. The block reward will drip to 3.125 bitcoins for miners. And no, the price will likely not decrease. If anything, the scarcity could trigger a hike and might even result in an ATH. Anyway, BTC is a long-term investment. So, I would definitely recommend HODLing. But only invest what you can afford to lose (that’s crypto 101) You can also look into automated trading and portfolio rebalancing to maximize your gain (check r100K!)

I only consider the BTC Halving as a milestone for the start of a new cycle, meaning that it can be seen as the start of a bullrun. Of course, at any time, we will see BTC price increases and decreases on multiple timeframes, I wouldn't be surprised if BTC price drops 5-10% right after the Halving, that's normal for the market.

What we can do is continue to follow the market to determine price behavior going forward. BTC's new ATH just before the Halving is still confusing, many people even believe that the top of the whole cycle could come in 2024 and 2025 will be the year of downtrend. I think we will have a special cycle with a lot of speculation and pressure  8)

Right now, my strategy for my BTC is just: HODL :)

Wrong, no bitcoin will be lost during the process of halving. Actually, it's just a quick update on the network and once it's done, it seems that everything is normal again but this thing is affecting all of the miners as their rewards have been lesser than of the normal. If you are a long term holder, you don't need to think a lot of it, relax and wait the price fluctuates positively as that's the common effect of it once the halving is done.

You are the only one who knows that not everyone, since the majority of us knows that once the halving starts bitcoin will increase more than it has, and in months it will begin to give a new ATH. However, this time around, we have seen another dimension of bitcoin giving a new ATH before halving and we can see more of the bitcoin price during halving. However, sit back tight and see how Bitcoin skyrockets during the halving.

It's sure confusing for many people, but for years we've been having discussions (me personally on BTT) about how spot BTC ETFs (US) will affect the price - and some kind of general opinion was that exactly what happened and just will happen in this and next year. I think that we are far from the maximum for this cycle and that the price of BTC today would be much higher if we did not have Grayscale in the equation with its massive sales that are still happening.

It is also very likely that this and every subsequent halving will have less and less influence on the price, because realistically miners will receive less and less rewards, and thus the impact of newly mined coins on the market will be less and less. In the next four-year period, we are talking about only about 450 BTC per day or 13 500 BTC per month - and spot ETFs in the US have swallowed such amounts several times in just one day.

Before the upcoming bitcoin halving I would advise those holding bitcoins to wait until the upcoming bull market to invest in bitcoin. For example, those who bought bitcoins at low prices may still be holding their bitcoins, but most have not sold their bitcoins, waiting to hold on to the upcoming bull market. People who invest in Bitcoin I think are not afraid of dumping market. They invest in making future plans more successful. I have been holding bitcoins and I have been increasing my bitcoin investment constantly using the DCA method. I did not sell my bitcoin investment in this upcoming bull market I held my bitcoin investment waiting for the upcoming bull market.

Isn't it obvious? just continue to hold and then accumulate even after the block halving. Don't sell if not necessary, or what till the price hits $100k at least in this bull run before tinkering of selling some of your hard earn bitcoin for profits.

From my research, it has been roughly estimated that Bitcoin halving will take place April, which is next month, and we know that during that time the price of but coin will reduce, and most people will loss their bitcoin if they did not sell it before that period.

So you saying that the after halving, the price will go down? Quite the opposite, after halving the price will slowly rises, it might take weeks or months before the bull run will actually start. And when it does, we might see parabolic rise this year.

People are not going to sell even after halving, they will continue to hold as I have said and will time the market to the top before they sell.

Just HODL.

Yes, it's going to be in April, but we don't know that exact date of the halving itself, so if you see some estimates, it will be +/- on that date or the time itself.

What will reduce is the supply itself, and if we look at Bitcoin's past history, after the halving, the price tends to go up and increase ten folds.

Lol, you are absolutely wrong bud, 1 bitcoin will always be 1 bitcoin, regardless of its value in dollars, and 0.5 bitcoin will always remain 0.5 bitcoin regardless of its value in dollars as well.

One does not lose bitcoin can holding, but can only lose bitcoin by selling it, the primary here is bitcoin, while the dollar value is completely secondary, if the dollar value of bitcoin drops below your initial buying price, rest assured you have not lost your bitcoin as long as you hold and did not sell, you only lose when you panic and sell.

When the price of bitcoin drops below your initial buying price, the best strategy is to use the DCA strategy to acquire even more bitcoin at prices cheaper than the price you both your first bitcoin at, and keep holding it and wait for the sun to start to shine again, for after every storm(bear market), the sun always will rise again and shine(bull market).

It should start this year in April. You can obviously see the growth of money and bitcoin at the beginning of the year, and the big expected breaking of the record is just coming.
