Title: How to create signature images with BBC code
Post by: Ambatman on April 11, 2024, 02:39:51 PM
I thought of using my free time to learn a skill or something and I chose learning how to make signatures. Mind you, I'm barely a newbie like y'all started 2 days ago and felt like sharing the source am using for those interested in making their own signature.
Ngl,  using a image to code app is easier but it's not as sharp and editable like one created manually and this link would be leading to one such thread in Bitcointalk.

[LEARN] BBCode Lessons & Tutorials [+tutorial videos!] (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1727100.0) created by roslinpl (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=158505)

How to make bitcointalk signatures [ Logo and Images included ] (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2198076.0) by bilochoa (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=1164094) For automatic turning of image to BBC code.(unfortunately user isn't active anymore so couldn't really take permission)

https://orcaforum.kofo.mpg.de/app.php/help/bbcode (personally learnt the basic here)

Don't ask questions relating to BBC code and expect an experts answer am still learning just like you  ;D.
Well the floor is open for questions though
Those experienced can help us trainee out.

Hopefully this is the right board for this and if it isn't I guess I would have to trouble the moderators with helping me move it. Thanks.

Edit : Added portion below.

Signature making is a good skill, I hope one day you will fully expert it, some time ago I also wanted to learn some skills, and chose the creation of an ANN thread, I did some digging and found out good thread on Bitcointalk to get started but later I dropped the idea to some reasons. I also wanted to learn how to create a signature just like you, but did not spend time on it. Well talking about you, the link of orcaforum is not so helpful though, as I don't know about BTT but the tags that it has covered are not working here on ALTT and I can assume they will not even work on BTT as well.

And those tags are not the main things that we need to start making signatures, because those tags are forum based and I think you can only utilize them n that orcaforum only. Besides those BTT threads are good source so I suggest you to start from there. If you need any help you can contact Gladiatorcomeback I am not so sure but think he knows how to make one. (Not so sure but what's bad in asking him) Otherwise best of luck and please add more resources to this thread in future if you find any.

It's BB code or BBC, not BBC code.

And yes, i guess this the right board for this. Learning bbcode designs needs more practice. Actually there are some online tools that can generate bbcode from an image, say website logo. Although those popular signature designers like Jayce do it from scratch.

Sigh this is the reason i hate not been a senior member yet, owe you a karma. Thank you for all this. It's really appreciated. Will check it out. Still on the foundation, haven't started creating image yet. Will do add more resources that I come across and using.

Thanks for the correction. Yeah I came across some tools of that nature but according to rikalip thread, I think doing from scratch has an edge over this tools. I'm not in any rush will build a better foundation on the code before moving to signatures fully.

It's a nice idea you've got here op. Though it might take a lot of time and practice but you should be able to start small and then learn the mystery behind creating a BB code. I ones learnt or tried learning but then at some point I just stoped and learnt how to design avatar instead. And I'm pretty sure most people can do that its just a minor skill. But Nevertheless, keep it up.

Done with the basic of applying syntax and editing text color, boldness, table, position etc and have moved on to image making via ASCII. I was recommended this sites https://lvllvl.com/ and https://www.w3schools.com/charsets/default.asp which am starting to understand how to use them well. Barely drawed something worth sharing just some Boxes and shapes but definitely getting there.  :)

Haha, I hope you will become a Sr member soon and will remember to give me karma on this post (haha just kidding) you just know that your karma is automatically added to my account even if you did not send but your words are enough. ☺☺ And sorry to reply late actually I already read this reply a long time ago but forget to give reply today I am giving reply to everyone mention, and that's how I find this one and fortunately I also find that you added a useful post just today. Which I just check.

I am talking about it, Can you shed more light as I did not thought that signature need ASIIC words to create them. I am looking at a signature code and the knowledge I have tells me it have HTMl and CSS in it, and some text tags like the ones that orcafirum has in it and the ALTT and BTT provide us while writing a post. And I checked the text editor as well, that lvllvl it is totally new like it is not that famous either that it automatically comes up by writing similar keyword.

But yeah if write exactly the domain name then it will come up. The point is, who have suggested you these sites, not trying to judge but only trying to assume that a skilled person gave it to you or what, if yes then I will also spend time on it for understanding it. And I will be waiting for your first signature code.

It's a good skill once can learn especially when you're part of a forum where demand for such service is always high.

I recommend you to spend your time carefully to learn the basic concepts of it and also remember to watch some helpful YouTube videos if you can find those.

It's always time consuming task to learn something new but it's always worth the time that we spend on learning something valuable.

I hope one day we may see some good signatures created by you, and that day you'll get the appreciation that you deserve.

Nobody has acquired learning in one day and everything is a gradual process. Learning skill is one of the best in the forum, and most signature coding, website design and art work. But Op even though you are learning from online, you still need someone to help you out in some technical areas. So since you learning the basic aspect of it, I will advise you to contact anyone who is good to teach you the areas you still needed. And Royce777 might k ow someone that will help you on that. Don't give up.

Its something good to learn as long as you have passion and desire for acquiring the knowledge, this will help a lot as i don't even see many lately being interested on this, though you may need more time and careful study to get the required idea behind it, once you're done on that, it may be easy for you to continue with improvising on your own new ideas to those codes and that alone has been an added advantage on your skills.
