Title: Sharing topics between Forums.
Post by: Rruchi man on April 19, 2024, 10:41:40 PM
There are more Nigerians on Bitcointalk than in this forum, so it is possible that most Nigerians in this forum are from Bitcointalk, but not all Nigerians on bitcointalk are in this forum. For that reason there may be a need to share some important topics that we have started in this forum concerning Nigeria to also our brothers on Bitcointalk, but if a topic is started on Bitcointalk, there is a bigger chance that that topic has been seen by most Nigerians, so no need sharing here to avoid spamming and repeatitive answers. What do you think about this?

There are users who are here and not longer on BTT or never been on  BTT so I would say bring topics from the other forum to this one is allowed as long as it's not a spam or low quality topics. If you're sharing a personal topic from the other forum no need to include the BTT link. Any topic attached with a link from BTT will be deleted.

Copying someone's else topics is not also allowed on this board.

You are correct sir
And again I would like to add little more thing here since you already finished up everything.
@Rruchi man you can get any meaningful information from whatever site and share here provided they have source link it won't be deleted and will be discussed here as well. What just happened here is, in as much we are trying to stand strong here mod and admins are also trying their best for here to remain a cherishable place where great information would be shared than just spamming.

I have read something like this on the rules of this forum and you have also corrected me before about it and I stopped doing it. But what if someone copied important information from many sources and Bitcointalk tooic or post is among, the person should not include Bitcointalk link which is not a good idea at all. Admin and moderators on this forum see it as competition and follow what is wrong. Although, it is their forum and we have to abide to the rules but that should not stop me from saying what is the truth.

I have known this on Bitcointalk since that if you are the author of a paper or an article or a write up or whatever, that you can post it without need of referencing it. Which is also not a violation on this forum. It is easy to know that you are the author of a post if it is from Bitcointalk as you provided the proof, like during teleporting or making use of the same username for the two accounts.

If you must copy paste original post from BTT to ATL you can do without including BTT Link just the original author ( e.g Source: Royse777- no need to add the BTT link.) and the post must be full, no redirect Link

The forum is only against dragging traffic from this forum to the other forums, if you make a topic I don't need to click a link to the other forum to read the full topic. Put everything here.

This tip is quite alright and informative. I was thinking since the forum frowns at plagiarism, it would be nice the author and link to the post is provided so as to avoid been striked by the Admin or Moderator for plagiarism. I remember early days of teleportation, I did paste a topic here which I already created on the other platform and it was worth the discussion. I had to copy both link and post here for verification and even doing that, I got attacked for bringing a topic already created on the other platform to this platform since I already pasted  and created it myself on the other platform, I could just do that without  mentioning that it was copied but I had to let them know so that I do not have issues of plagiarism and others because when the heat starts I would be the one to face it and not them.

This is my original topic from BTT I copy paste on this forum 3 years ago with a source Link; but in a very unique way that doesn't drag traffic or shown that it was cited to BTT. The topic is in full and the source link is also on it.

It's true that including the source of the topic used should be an important solution to avoid plagiarism. Maybe when there is a Thread report like Igebotz, it will be evaluated by the admin and not just be immediately punished because the admin will definitely also consider the account rank they have.

It is true that one needs to properly reference the source of their information as it bothers their works here if they are not the owners of such write up. Wisdom demands that you give honour to whom honour is due. Any write up that does not belong to you is not your own so in that case citation and referencing matters as to acknowledge the original author of the write. Anything outside that without  referencing is termed  plagiarism and copy right theft which is punishable here and also punishable by the law.
