Almost every tech giant cuts off their employees a lot to cut down their operational costs and this resulted in the emergence of AI which swapped the requirement of an actual human needed for the task and the trend will likely follow in the coming years too.
The condition remains the same in every field, an exception could be the medical field.
So as an individual how do you plan to have a secured job considering that every job is at risk?

The condition remains the same in every field, an exception could be the medical field.
Maybe for now the medical field is spared from possible huge job losses but with the emergence of technologies prodded by AI the time will come when this industry will also be facing its own headwinds. In the past many months, I always read news of many big corporations like Meta and Google who slashed their human resources as they faced some bleak future possibilities. And I think this trend will continue to be affecting many businesses all over the world most especially in USA. Indeed, we can say that the global economy is downsizing and we should be prepared the ill-effects of this continuing problem.

the answer is simple for me , try not to be an employee but try to built your own business/company so from this you will never be off against AI/Robots because you are now the boss and will serve your client.
this is the sad reality of development that we are now leaning towards technology and the human skills is slowly dying , because we are now fond of high or speed result than the traditional one.

Being your own boss doesn't eradicate the root cause here, let's assume someone working in a bakery and mastered baking now thinks in the future a robot could take his job and go out and start his bakery but still, the machines are going to make things to more perfection than an actual human with negligible maintenance cost than paying salary so as a business owner we can run the bakery with little to no profits if we decided to compete against the evolution.

So as an individual how do you plan to have a secured job considering that every job is at risk?
I think what's best is to invest in getting new knowledge on what's the trend and possible trend in the future. Have a vision or a choice of something you can learn that will still be needed even if most of the jobs are being replaced with AI. An expertise where a human intervention is always needed, that a bot can't do as it needs on-the-spot decision making.
-
This process is nothing new. Humanity has already gone through similar scenarios, from mechanization to industrialization, when new technologies expectedly implemented mechanisms to reduce personnel costs and/or increase labor efficiency. Similarly, the big language model + neural networks, erroneously called "AI", will replace some professions. It's called progress and development of the world. Unfortunately, due to such developments, some people/specialties may not be in demand. Taking into account that the modern world has become much more volatile, it is necessary to prepare for such events in advance - learn new specialties, build your business, form passive income, invest,....

Well, an individual can secure a job by acquiring new and unique skills that cannot be taken by AI for a while and I think that is the only solution to that. I've been reading topics that has the same concept as this one like AI taking over human jobs and yeah it's all have the same approach like the one I just said above.

Technically correct approach but lot of practical difficulties to be honest, imagine you are working in a sector that all you know for years which may suddenly replaced by AI and now you go on and pursue a completely different skill that even may face the similar problems in the next few years. As of now it's kind of confused state whether the AGI and ASI concept will become real but if we are evolving at this rate then it won't take more than couple of decades Max to see a complete transition that we never expected.

My guess is that the Government will intervene when job losses increases at an alarming rate. Why? Because by then, tax collections from the middle class (working class) will drop significantly and they will be forced to provide aid to millions of jobless citizens. Imagine no new money but with added expenditure. Governments don't want things like that to happen.

You have very correctly pointed out one nuance that everyone forgets about when talking about "AI will take over the world and take away people's jobs" or "technology will leave the world without jobs".
First and foremost, AI, in the full-fledged form of Artificial Intelligence, does not exist today. This means that AI will not be able to set a goal of enslaving "primitive bio-organisms like humans" :)
Second, no less important - a fully technogenic world (when people as a labor force will not be needed) will lead to the extinction of the human species.
Thirdly, power is POWER over people, with the reduction of humanity, power will lose its "attractiveness" and its "advantages".
Like what you said - a drastic reduction of the middle class is a disaster for the state. That means :
- lower consumption (= slower idegradation of the economy)
- lower tax revenues
- increased social burden on the budget
But there is a nuance here - this is a problem for developed countries. In totalitarian and similar countries, the government just needs a silent mass, whose interest in life will be only the question of getting food to survive. And this is not the middle class, it is the lumpenized majority.
So that's what you're describing:
- is really important.
- but it's only important in a developed community.

The trend does not limit only in one expertise, in every trend it includes every part or type of job that a human intervention is required as it is also part of the process in developing and improving in that certain field. Aside from that, there is really no such thing as easy in every sector or job. What every individual need to do is to keep on learning and choose for what we see fit for our capability.

Exactly. We humans are unique and that AI cannot take over as we feed them information to do exactly what we instructed them through commands. As you have said there is always human intervention in everything we create including AI. Without human intervention, AI will become outdated or obsolete.

one possible way to remain employed is to know how to use AI itself. if you can operate a machine to which this machine may sooner have an AI brain, i guess its best that you are the ones taking care of the brain itself.
blue-collar jobs may not actually be replaced by AI. i don't think they already have developed a bot that will wipe a window on fifth floor. but its time to learn new skills because plumbers, electricians and welders are the kind of jobs that will put food on the table.

I'll remind you again - but what is now called AI does not have the same artificial intelligence :)
It's just a tool that... IS CONTROLLED BY A HUMAN BEING. And it is not AI that can replace someone less skillful, but a person who uses this "AI" as a tool to improve the efficiency/quality of his work !
We should not be afraid of AI, but learn to use it for our own benefit ! It is just a new round of technology, which opens up new opportunities for us, and with the help of which we only strengthen our advantages. Just learn to use it !
PS Nowadays paranoia about "AI" reminds us of the fear of fire in primitive people. But those who "tamed" it and began to use it for their own good - got huge advantages over those who were afraid of it

If one door closes, another door opens. As humans, we must force ourselves to adapt to very dynamic technological transformations. Not all jobs can be replaced by AI. In essence, humans are created with uniqueness that has the complexity of different specifications, if that complexity is lost, the world will lose its attractiveness.
Because I am 40 years old, I am starting to map out what professions my child can do with the talents he has. Start providing training to them regarding digitalization of technology that brings digitalization to human life. Therefore, early preparation is really needed so that our children are not surprised by modernization in the next few decades and are expected to survive with the talents and skills that have been prepared.
Of course, information engineering personnel will be in high demand in the future, but of course the competition will also be very tight. Some professions that cannot be replaced by AI (even if they can be replaced are not entirely and the results will definitely be less than satisfactory), athletes, security, medical personnel, lawyers, law enforcers, bureaucrats, journalists, customer service, salesmen.

So as an individual how do you plan to have a secured job considering that every job is at risk?
Like the famous quote says, "The trend is your friend."
This is applicable in the market and it's a big help for us investors, but it can also help other people other things as well.
What's the trend right now? AI, right? Right now, many companies are using AI to maximize what they're doing with only minimal effort with minimal number of employees. What's the best thing to do to have a secure job? Leverage AI. Learn how to use AI in order for us to have a job. I know that this technology will affect many industries. From photography to video editing and we've seen tech sectors laying off many employees already because they want to integrate AI with their business because that means lesser employees and lesser cost.
Learning and maximizing the use of AI to our advantage for me is the best way for us to have a secure job. Right now, nobody is safe (aside from those that are in the medical sector) because anytime can lose their job because of this technology.

@bitterguy28 has said it all, being your own Boss is the best because you control whatever you are doing for income. Like the example that you gave, since @bitterguy28 is the Boss, he must have saved up to an extent that he can afford to buy a machine that will work in his bakery while he relax. Or are you saying that those robots will not have people who they work in their companies. It is only the employee that suffers by losing his job, and not the employer who will use AI to get his job done and make more profit.

With the technological advancement, more and more companies have started relying on technology rather than human. With this in mind a lot of companies have cut their work force. Although technological innovations have many advantages, they also have many disadvantages.

That's the way it's always been !
Those who first domesticated horses and buffalo - gave up the manual cultivation of fields.
Those who invented the windmill and watermill - gave up hundreds of hands of flour millers....
Those who learned to raise livestock - gave up the services of hunters ...
Those who invented the steam engine - abandoned those who were engaged in horse-drawn transportation...
Those who invented the internal combustion engine - gave up steam engines, steam boiler stokers, and other maintenance people ...
It's called PROGRESS, and it always will be. That which allows to reduce costs and improve quality will replace that which gives a lower quality and more expensive product/service

Even with all these, there is no how we can totally rely on the use of AI in some aspect of human lives and the economy because we still needs man intelligence in making some decisions in which a programmed device couldn't, we are free to make use of any AI build technology device and this is just to simply fasten our work done in most areas and this will definitely reduce the dependencies for man labour in many of the employment settings but it cannot be hundred percent effective as when man in fully involved.

That is why if technological advancement has something like a disadvantages that is where human intervention will play and that is I think we need to study and earn more knowledge on it to grab the opportunity to make money out of it.

So as an individual how do you plan to have a secured job considering that every job is at risk?
These artificial intelligence and machines that are taking jobs for humans will require people to maintain them and run updates, as they cannot do that for themselves. This means that some humans will still be indispensable, considering their skill set and specialty. My advice is that, as an individual currently working in the sector where you know that your job is threatened by replacements by AI, I advise that you start taking courses to improve your skill sets and turn yourself into someone that your company cannot do without.

Yeah right. Since AI is computer related thing I think that is also the best way to make an approach like acquiring skill related to it as we all know that technology is evolving and that is inevitable so for me electronics and computer related courses could still be good but with electronics this is where AI is mostly used especially in auto industry, mobile phones and other electronic related sector. There are actually vocational courses that offers practical and actual trainings depending on our preference like welding, plumbing, caregiving, cookery and many others.

You made a very good point about welders, plumbers, tailors, .... and many other professions that cannot be replaced by what is now called, for some reason, AI. POSSIBLY, when there will be a real AI, which will set its own tasks, getting rid of the unnecessary layer in the form of people, it will create robots - plumbers, and robots - welders, which will fulfill its commands and perform the necessary actions ... But that's another story :)

Well, you are right but there are things that we can actually change especially if it has already started, that is why we should not solely rely only on Manuel jobs or which we are unsure of how it will turn out to be in the future, which can make most people to be jobless, so its okay if we also involve ourselves in an online works because anything happen at anytime even now or in the future, so let's prepare ourselves so that we won't disappoint or feel bad when things doesn't go our own way.
-
One thing that AI can't do is the hard labor a business man can do. If you can find sources for raw materials and build your products or cook your products, then you are your own boss and your job will always be with you for certain.
Be a cook. I doubt an AI can emulate that especially when you look for sea food sources locally. Jobs that AI will not be able to take from you like owning a poultry house.
-
In fact, it is not the job that everyone has to do, so personally I will create my own business, then i will be hundred percent safe. But you can't control everything by robots if you want so the need for humans is and will always be everywhere. This is the sad reality of development that we are now leaning towards technology so human skills are not being valued. But the export of manpower will be certain and without human skills the world will be stagnant. So if we position ourselves best then it is possible to prepare ourselves in the right way.

Does it mean you will hire humans to do the hard work in your business?
For business man to really be hiring humans in his team means he really disapproved of the use of AI today.
A few years ago before AI wasn't in the mind of Elon, there were already robots operating in a Japanese companies. I didnt thought of it as AI but niw that I see its used, I think businessmen today will actually prefer them.
No unions to fight and they can work 24 hours. Hard to fight the AIs. The tech have existed long time ago.

That's right, government won't find funny or be happy about it when such thing occur because they will be needing people to do most of the work for them and even if they didn't say or do anything about it, the high rate of corruption will really affect people live including theirs, so that will make them to make them to look into the matter and also employ more of people than Al or robot.

Yeah as they cannot dictate AI and robots to do whatever they wanted to especially related to corruption and that is an advantage. Human workforce is prone to errors and of course corruption through bribery which is very common anywhere in the world.

The government has the chance to stop the development of AI because Elon Musk has a lot of things to do with it. They know him and Sam Altman whoeven worked for a government side job but the government encourage the development of AI.
If its going to take over the jobs of regular people the one that government will only care to collect tax I guess can center to one company, the one who owns the robots. Somehow these AIs are more reliable than humans so its not surprising.

Can you name a profession, where people were mass fired due o AI ? But dont call many from IT sector, as not every IT guys work is really that complicated. AI made it quicker and more simple. No wonder people got replaced by AI. Like conveyors and robots replaced manual assembly. For example not every company needs an employee in stuff, who will manage and print client receipts, as he can be replaced by script.
To many people wants to sit in the office, press buttons and put minimum effort to earn. Few wants to work and earn with their hands. This must be balanced. AI is to balance this.

If we are that smart we still have choices because we can acquire newer skills so that the risk of us getting fired from our job just because an AI will take over is not that severe not unless we do nothing. Just like AI that needs upgrades we also need it especially if it was work related.

Literally a couple sentences about "AI" as well. (in quotation marks for a reason) and IT, without the quotation marks :)
1. "AI as it currently exists is not real AI. Modern "AI" is more marketing than AI :)
2. "AI" is a huge, very fast database of KNOWLEDGE, with an AMAZING method of interaction, in the form of a large language model.
For whom is it really dangerous ? I'm taking IT now, as I've been in IT myself for 30 years :)
For people with low competencies working in positions that do not require high competencies!
For people who don't understand the advantages of AI as a Helper - they end up in a situation where AI replaces them.
And also people who are not ready to make efforts to "pump up" their knowledge and skills.
And this is a natural process. If you look at history, it is very similar to the situation, for example, in London, at the beginning of the 20th century, with Knocker-up - or "alarm clock people". As long as the population could not afford a simple mechanical alarm clock, this layer of workers was in demand. But with the advent of "AI" in the form of mechanical, affordable, cheap, alarm clocks, the Knocker-up simply disappeared, for lack of demand.... Now we are seeing the same thing, but adjusted for the 21st century.....

The best thing in other not to run helter-skelter in the future over job is not to remained ever employed by others, instead we should work to be self employed by ourself and be an employer of labourers, we can start from somewhere and from there we grow and move on, depending on others for employment could be disappointing in life as we may not be able to achieve our desired and future financial goal and freedom.
-
Can they deploy AI in war?
Because if they can it seen worth rethinking why they would need to draft. Using AI will not kill more men.
If AI is very effective, it should be used for argriculture and let thise robots plants and then people will just sit and relax on their lives after all products is easy to produce thru AI. Let AI do everything and the whole country will create a generation of lazy kids.

Being an employer rather than an employee may be the best policy that many try but not for most people. You may lack money or lack of planning. It is possible to implement your plan only through hard work. You have to change your thinking, you have to work harder and above all the humanity of doing something good for the society and the country.

Well yeah you hot that point but being self employed I think requires capital that most average people don't have so I think the best thing to do here is to acquire a special skill and then developed it for future proofing. Nowadays skilled workers are in demand depending on which field we are interested in.

Wrong , there is no more perfection in cooking than Human providing , i am a cook for how many years and i will stand by that .
yeah robotics can mass produce multiple times than human can bring but trust me , the taste and the quality will never be the same as how a human hand brings food to the table .
and also robotics will only appear if we human allows it to be, but if not then how can robots take over the job?
let them mass produce something that people needs but not the whole world will believe in that manner.

"AI," or more specifically a neural network based algorithmic model, like any tool or technology will be used in the military. Now my country suffers from external terrorist aggression from a neighboring country, so "swarms of drones" controlled by "AI" very effectively destroy the troops of terrorists, freeing our land. At the same time, the cost of such systems is many orders of magnitude lower than the equipment or manpower of the terrorist's country that they destroy. That also levels out the huge difference between the economy of my country and the aggressor's country, which is many times larger, both in size and economy, than my country.
The second side of the issue is to limit the development of technology in aggressor countries, so that they could not use this technology for mass terror against the civilized world. This is perhaps the most subtle and complex issue, because for such IT technologies it is not necessary to build megafactories or very complex production facilities, it is enough to have the possibility of "large-scale assembly" or production of all components for such systems.

This is actually terrifying when AI is used in wars but it also helps troops safer since unmanned equipments can be apllied with AI for pinpoint accuracy and less risk of soldiers controlling their equipments like drones and stuff in the battlefield. I actually watched some scenes from the frontlines in your country and it's scary.

There are jobs that AI will never replace human. Jobs that needs critical thinking to have good results on how to go about the situation at hand. AI lacks the brain to think. Tideous jobs should be replaced by AI and not jobs that needs intellectuals. Being self employed is the best and working online too is the best because AI will not be able to take over such jobs. However if AI start taking over some people's job, they will have other skills that they can learn to benefit from which AI cannot meet up with.

Well yeah humans are the one who feeds data for AI to work and AI rely on what is available data online so I think we still have an edge on the jobs that AI cannot do themselves pr something that is more complicated to them and still needs human intervention and that is what we need to improve so we cannot be replaced one day.

The really scary thing is that in the 21st century the world has allowed a new brown plague of Nazism and terrorism to grow, and much of the world continues to have economic ties with the terrorist country. Moreover, some countries with impunity supply weapons to destroy the civilian population of the country suffering from the aggression of a huge terrorist country and its satellites and "friends of world terrorism". Let's play the game of humanity when we solve the issues with real problems and not semi-fantastic ones. And the aggressor should only be destroyed, there are no other options to win and liberate their country. Therefore, AI technologies are very helpful and useful for people in liberating their country from aggressors and terrorists. This is a good and necessary technology

I agree with the development of today's technology we must catch up and update our skills on the trends so that we will not get behind because most of the industry is now using high technologies especially AI but human knowledge and experience are irreplaceable. Find something you are good at and try to use it as a strength and how you will use it today.
-
Keep on investing and acquiring more assets. As you save the now, they will save you in the future. At same time, continue learning something new because that is the way to adopt into such situations like this when every job is at risk tobe replaced by automation. Or learn a trade or skill which you think will never get replaced by an ai.
-
How about signature campaigns, do you think this jist of side jobs going to disappear soon when AI is already taking over the internet?
I'm just thinking this could be a big advantage to us than the people who aren't not in crypto since they have few options in earning BTC.
-
How about signature campaigns, do you think this jist of side jobs going to disappear soon when AI is already taking over the internet?
No, AI won't be able to do any harm to signature campaigns but surely those who aren't good at writing or have poor knowledge about cryptocurrencies will take help of AI to create posts and that could somehow be harmful in future because the AI generated content can be so human-like that no online detector will be able to detect that useless AI generated content as AI generated content.

People need to understand that tech and Ai can't replace every sector of existing careers although it's quite true that the future of most jobs is uncertain but there jobs of high relevance that would always require the intellects of human beings. Most people saying that the invention artificial intelligence will be downfall of humanity due to the potentials it has and stories they have heard about, well, all these all uncertain, we are yet to know what is going to happen in the future, these AI's might actually do more good than causing any harm to humans
-
I agree with you the investing and learning new skills are important, especially with ai changing things but still not all trades or skills are safe from AI in the long run. Even some hands-on jobs might get automated eventually. So, it will also be smart to focus on skills that combine both creativity and adaptability, things that AI struggles with,eg hand crafts, physical services, manual labouring skills etc. so that we can all stay ahead no matter how fast technology ends up evolving.
-

Never thought of this as something that AI couldn't replace ;D I guess it's going to be a battle between AI generated posts vs. AI detection tools.
Anyway, it's part of marketing and a lot of the stuff marketers do in the past would probably require just one person to operate.

The topic of Ai taking over in the future has indeed been a Topic of major concern and now people beginning to question their profession, they don't know if what they are doing can stand the test of time. That's why Diversification is important, don't just put your eggs in one basket, get involved in other things, learn new skills that cannot be replaced by robots cause whether we agree or not some jobs cannot be replaced by Ai. Some jobs would always need human intelligence so it's just a matter of putting yourself in a good position in order to be relevant in the future. All these might just be mere theories but there's a possibility in it

Yes its very alarming the AI is making a disruption in many industries. We may even find ourselves being driven by an AI robot, New graduates are having a hard time finding new jobs, and now jobs are being replaced by these AI, The humans are suffering because of the emergence of these AI, looks like an Armageddon scene in the Terminator movies.
The condition remains the same in every field, an exception could be the medical field.
We never know these AI are also evolving
So as an individual how do you plan to have a secured job considering that every job is at risk?
Everyone is at risk so I will try to create a business of my own that will not be touched by an AI
-
The world is changing and the narratives is changing to AI. What I will do is to better position myself and learn a skill that requires me not to be physical and be conducting my work, like a remote work. As the technological advancement is taking over the world, it is better to position yourself in a position that you’ll be needed in a field that requires your skill. The world might be changing but I still it very far from relying on AI only and sack most of the people that work from office on a daily basis. Technological advancement is coming but there’s still need for more labour in many sectors today.

Where are job and what kind of jobs will be available at the time of the transition? Alas, it is rather uncertain. Pretty much every tech company has been laying off employees en masse to trim their expenses in the past few years. This has brought about AI where computers substituting human beings in most activities. This trend will probably persist in the years to come.
-
There is no certainty in life and that is why we are having some people making it appears as if life is not bearable on them, we should not let the way things are happening around us affect the way we are taking life as a whole, there is no certainty anywhere, we have to do our best and expect the worse to come, jobs are not what we can also rely on like that, even when we are self employed.
-
So as an individual how do you plan to have a secured job considering that every job is at risk?
With the future of job's not being stable due to artificial intelligence taking over human jobs it's only advisable that people should come up with ideas and innovations that will fetch them money because it is very close to the time when artificial intelligence will virtually take over every where, any one who is innovative enough to think of solving a problem in his society will not only create job's for himself but also others. As human we need to creative and innovative in what ever that we do because the world is gradually getting to place where human effort in industrial environment will be highly reduced as these artificial intelligence can do more work than humans and even more efficiently than we do

I saw a video yesterday that China run Trial of road construction by completely automated AI system controlled all the machines and it seems successful as well and also they managed to do the same in operating the port so some countries are really pushing this AI to replace the human work force which is kind of terrifying.
Government should regulate some of the things as soon as possible or else the employees will be affected that will bring the domino effect on the country's economy itself.

i do not know how much people will be trusting buildings or roads made by robots but personally i would not be very confident in it either i still think ai needs some perfecting to do but it is in fact terrifying to think that blue collar jobs may be the ones to decease because of ai tech i can't imagine the kind of world we will live in if those who weren't able to afford high education be also deprived of job opportunities

the answer is simple for me , try not to be an employee but try to built your own business/company so from this you will never be off against AI/Robots because you are now the boss and will serve your client.
this is the sad reality of development that we are now leaning towards technology and the human skills is slowly dying , because we are now fond of high or speed result than the traditional one.
This is such a great idea and it is going to open a great opportunities for an individual to grow to excel, if an individual is self employed or businessman you will not competite with robot or Ai for job, and your business will be safeguarded from automation, rather you will the boss, you will control over everything, you will use Ai to serve clients or customer, and also you use it for your growth and development of your business, because it is obvious that future of jobs is highly uncertain, so it will be better for someone to act now or regret later, technologies has taken over everything, and it has made services and everything easier for the owners of companies, and industries, they can work faster than people, I wonder what will happen to the employers or workers in future.
-
Why do we think the future of job remains uncertain, its because we are too dependent of others to be the source of our livelihood, those working under other people will always have this fear in them, that what might be the end of their life when they got sack from the job they are doing, but when they look beyond that and focus on their abilities, they are doing to see how useful it is for one to make it happens as planned.

nothing last forever as they say. but its always the pension that matters for someone who aged already and the fear of losing their job is going to be real. the AI deployments aren't even their worries for now. but yeh having more skills will likely land a good job if they ever loses the current.
but its not the option for people in the governments of in companies that are linked to politics. employees are forced to become democrats because if they won't support the head, they'd lose their jobs.
-
My guess is that the Government will intervene when job losses increases at an alarming rate. Why? Because by then, tax collections from the middle class (working class) will drop significantly and they will be forced to provide aid to millions of jobless citizens. Imagine no new money but with added expenditure. Governments don't want things like that to happen.
The thing is we can't put our hope in government to provide jobs for us as government can't provide jobs and the intervention that your referring to because the issue of unemployment has been a global issues that has been there for a while with little or no effort by government to find a solution to the problem of unemployment in the world . The truth of the matter is that government is paying lip service to address unemployment matters so they can continue to use it as a campaign strategy for election purposes so people need to take their destinies into their hands by getting themselves involved in meaningful business that will bring money to them at the end of the day such business can be investment in the crypto market as it is a viable business that is profitable

On the issue of job government is trying their best to make sure that things get better but the truth is that population is increasing everyday and there is high demand for jobs so government alone can't provide jobs for everyone in their countries so both the private sector and individuals should take responsibility for themselves so that they can be useful to the society because if they wait for the government to provide job's for them it will it till eternity as government only can't solve the problem of unemployment in the society so people should acquire skills that will be of demand in the society so the can be meaningful engaged

Nice question bro. The answer to this question is handwork or you have a business of your own. I had an experience when I was working in a company we had a department where you just had to sit down and arrange noodles for the person that would park it to the carton and the Indian men there saw that the work was a bit easy so they had to drop everyone working there and installed a machine that would do that and there was three shifts when they dropped those people the total number of people that went home was 122 people imagine 122 people being jobless.
And we are about to see more of that with Elon musk's robots.
But when you have a handwork or skill no matter the situation you are safe.

people should rather than working for others develop the potential that are inside of them because one way that can be used in creating job's is self development which has to do with your creative skills because the truth of matter is that apart from artificial intelligence taking over jobs one other thing is over population the population of the world is ever increasing that there are actually no jobs that is available for people to work so people should look beyond job and start creating jobs for themselves

that is unfortunate this has been happening way before when machines were invented we could only imagine what can these new and highly more developed robots/machines can do in our places
so our best bet is ourselves make yourself stand out and special that no kind of machine can takeover your job unfortunately for some all they can do is the minimal physical work that can be easily accomplished by a robot so this should be a time where we also try and invest in our own skills
-
Its not just machines taking over jobs but what the news are saying was that people are not working anymore because they see wages are not enough to compensate their hard work.
Instead of working double time and find 2job because of the inflation and the economy, people are not working.
-
Nowadays AI is replacing repetitive jobs It’s wild how fast it’s happening, but it shows how important it is to focus on skills AI can’t replace. Its time we invest in our skills that AI can replace or keep up with the trends. The key is to keep growing
-
So as an individual how do you plan to have a secured job considering that every job is at risk?
Is to develop skills that will complement AI in the fields like Education and training, healthcare and social services, roles that require creativity, and innovation and originality.
Staying stable and continuous learning will do much good as you upskill and reskill yourself in any given training or courses that will enhance your skills and knowledge. Finally, being open-minded to learning new technology and tools would be of help also.
-

Agree. We will always feel afraid if we can't live independently with the work we create ourselves. In my country, most people too depend on the jobs from the government institutions. So, they have no idea to create their own jobs. Even though there are many things that can be done independently, there is no need to depend on the government or other people. I think the government also needs to play a role in making people aware of being independent. There should be a lot of skills training for various jobs so that people have the provisions to work independently.

Owning a large area of land and being a farmer is the safest job at the moment. Because despite the global economic crisis, we still won't have food difficulties if we are farmers. But unfortunately being a farmer requires us to have a large area of land. Meanwhile, land prices are very expensive. And to achieve this, of course we have to work hard. And in this case, currently it is not easy to get a job with a large salary. Because even in some industries, instead of adding employees, the existing employees have been fired and replaced by machines, then robots and now equipped with AI.
What is clear at this time is that we have to be people who have many skills. We should not focus too much on one area. Because even though we are currently working, to be safe, we also have to have a side job. Whether it's being a freelancer or whatever. But if we follow the trend, becoming a content creator is one solution for those who are working and want to earn additional income.

The internet however made people realized working is pointless because of inflation, they see their future not making it to retirement. They don't blame AI. I have seen those videos where people from China lying down protesting not to work.
However the mass lay offs we see every time on the news is quite often. Stories was that, stores are deploying robots already. One example was the rightrobot that serves food to restaurant customers.

But you can see that a lots of tasks that people perform today are being automated, with AI capable of doing them as well. I don't think AI will only replace jobs in the public sector, corporate world, and other industries, but also domestic workers, as they've developed AI powered robots designed for household chores. This is unbelievable, The world's rapid is shifting towards technology. We need to be prepared for an uncertain future, it is advisable for individuals to consider starting their own businesses. This approach will help them ensure stability and adaptability, even if AI continue to advance in the world.

I am confident that, while robots are gradually replacing some human jobs, such as the housework you mentioned, as well as waiter and waitress jobs in some restaurants in more developed countries, such technological advancements will be extremely difficult to achieve in the Third World.
The people will undoubtedly protest such development, and the government will undoubtedly oppose it in the provision of public services. Perhaps the private sector will embrace it in order to reduce operating costs, but as previously stated, this cannot occur in the public sector.

I don't agree with you that if developing countries decides to adopt AI into their societies that there will be problems like protests and public disgust concerning AI because the third world for no reason or maybe out of poverty is highly manipulative so the probability of government using money to short their mouths and the government will continue with their planned agreements by introducing AI into the society so it's not only restricted to only third world

I am not saying that the Third World does not need technological advancement or will not embrace development, but if development or AI denies people jobs or forces people to leave jobs, there will be a public outcry because people are already dealing with the problem of unemployment, and anything that exacerbates the already existing problem of unemployment will cause people to revolt.
However, revolting does not guarantee that the government will respond, as has been the case in the Third World, where governments are notorious for ignoring public outcry as long as it is detrimental to their own interests. Because the government controls the state apparatuses, it is easier for the government to ignore people's complaints and nothing can be done.

AI can bring progress, but if it takes away jobs, people will be upset and might protest. In many places where jobs are already hard to find, losing more to AI could make things worse. But the truth is, that governments often don’t listen to public complaints, especially if it doesn’t benefit them. They have the power to ignore protests and just go ahead with their plans.

Unemployment is becoming a problem among people day by day, especially in the context of my country. If I want to say this, then I must say that unemployment in my country is crossing the highest limit. Millions of students graduate from schools, colleges, and universities every year, yet the government is unable to guarantee them jobs. Moreover, corruption and political instability in the country are considered to be one of the main reasons for the unemployment problem in our country. Moreover, the unemployment problem is increasing in such a way that it will become more pronounced in the future.

the corrupt politicians are the least they think when it comes to the reason as to jibs being uncertain in the future. there are just to few job opportunities since the time lf covid.
i still drive for tourist. but i think thie job will soon be taken over if vehickes are going to have AIs where companies can set for auto pilot. AIs will be bad for all jobs.

Well, this same people who complains about the lack of available jobs will still be gullible and believe the politicians that will give them promises of a better future. It helps politicians to keep the people poor easily fooled ;D

If it ever comes to a point where no one can work because AI has taken over all jobs, I believe no one can be governed because security may also be left to AI, and the people will want AI to govern them. If you believe that a time like this cannot occur, I personally do not believe too that AI can take over 70% of jobs in a country.
The government, in her wisdom, recognizes that people need to work, so there will undoubtedly be limits on the influx of AI capable of denying people jobs. Also, if AI does all of the jobs, it will be difficult for the government to siphon money because the money will not be tied to anything.

many things can be true all at once yes there are definitely lack of opportunities and lack of jobs but also it is true that if there are things that are lacking we need to make something ourselves because otherwise there will be no future for us
politicians like to keep their supporters hanging because these people do not know how to vote properly they are promised a lot of things but at the end nothing ends up happening for real and they are left poor again by the very same politicians they voted to power

This is exactly what is happening in our country's context, especially the army says, and the administration says that jobs are never possible without the context of a political party. Because talent is not valued, even though our country has educated people, education is not applied, which is why no economic development is possible in our country. In my country, an educated unemployed population is constantly being created and education is becoming worthless day by day in our country. Since the government is unable to provide jobs according to the level of education, it is becoming uncertain what will happen to the educated people of Bangladesh in the future.
-
By looking on situation in my country, higher unemployment rates are only in small cities. In these cities mostly live elder generation, while younger has moved to capital and larger cities. The one of the problems with elder generation and unemployment (as I see it) is that they dont want to learn new or change anything. A person has been working in a factory and creating boxes for whole life, and he does not want to do anything else.

This literally happened here in our country which is the sad part because the masses never learned lessons and still keep on voting those corrupt politicians due to the bribery they committed during elections which unfortunately is a trap for most.

Political dominant people are always in trouble with their funding and they make a lot of promises before voting, but after winning they forget that promise. Politicians adopt different strategies for campaigning actions before voting. Moreover, a good politician never spends a lot of money in promotion. The bribery campaigns are now in almost all countries. So It is sad because people never understand their nets so they win an ineligible person.

Exactly, citizens have every right to cry out if their livelihoods are being threatened. It is their right to work to put food on the table, it is their fundamental rights to work and provide for themselves and their families the basic necessities of life. Therefore, they have every right to protest if they are being replaced by Artificial intelligence or any other things or tool and lose their ability to work.
But I also recognize that governments often ignore the concerns of the poor, especially if their demands don't align with the government's interests, just as you said. In countries with limited employment opportunities, citizens are already struggling with unemployment. If the few available jobs are at risk of being replaced by AI, the people will certainly resist and fight to protect their livelihoods. So in that case they have to stand firmly on their feet to protect for them to get what rightfully belong to them, or what is rightfully theirs.

i bumped into a robot the other day inside a mall. the robot's name is Robi. it never react when i said sorry to it but it does the job in promoting certain products inside the mall. after awhile i saw it again assisted by a super market employee and the robot was saying something like i need assistance to recharge me.
this is how it is for now. i thought to myself that in the future this robot will have a brain of an AI, i think its the one who will eventually going to help the old people shake their willy after peeing. maybe care giver will not be needed in the future as well.

AI is already handling simple tasks, like the mall robot you saw promoting products. Right now, it still needs human help, but in the future, AI could become much smarter and take over more jobs, even caregiving. This could be both exciting and concerning as it changes the way people work.

The involvement of AI in the industries is fast becoming popular and it should be a concern to man because with the way things are going AI is gradually taking over the role of man in the industries because virtually in all aspects of the industry AI is replacing man in their jobs because their AI's are programmed to be more smarter and better than man infact AI can do what ten humans can do in a day in less than an hour, government should come up with regulatory laws that will protect humans because with the way things are job security will be a big issue in the future

I just remember the movie I watched last night it's all about AI which I like the story but I can see robots in there powered by AI that works alongside humans which for me is at first very satifying to see until it transition to be terrifying if it was in the real world because AI is integrated with war machines, jobs and what's interesting is that they have emotions built within them or copied from the memory of a human though just a scifi movie but based on what I see innovations are way too fast but the use of AI to do bad things is a different story. Anyways, the title of the movie is "The Creator".

There is no any uncertainty about doing a job, it's all a matter of which kind of job and for whom is the job being done, quite alright I agree there may be uncertainty with jobs when we are employed to work under someone, but this may not be possible when we are self employed, except we also failed in doing that job by improvisation and effective management of the job, as we all know, each career in life comes with it own challenge, but we must be ready to take this up and work towards how we could make ends meet for our own sake by the work we do.

You're seeing the topic from a different view because within the context of what we are discussing here it about jobs that are being done by man which are gradually being taken over by artificial intelligence (AI) and not someone not willing to work or improving their selves . The future of job's in this twenty first century is becoming endangered because of the use of artificial intelligence in industry

when my relative said his son is taking an accounting course, i told him that the account jobs might not be there anymore in the future because AIs might take these jobs already.
he said, accounting jobs and bookkeeping will still be needed and AI will need those accounting personnel, AIs will need the ID card of the accountant to operate. i was surprise this is how they see it. do you think he is right?

I don't think that he is right because AI is a computer programme so it should be programmed in such a way that will operate independently with our the help of a human accountant that is where technology is heading, it will come to a time that society will not be in need of human efforts at the place of work but everything will be automated to serve our desired need and want

Well no matter has sophisticated a robot, it can never replace human beings, when you said you bumped into the robot and it didn't respond when you said sorry, this is because it lack emotions, it doesn't even know when it is hurt or when it is overused, anyways human being have a way of feeling when someone is hurt and disturbed and all of this has a way of influencing the way they act and how they take care of people especially the old individuals and since robot lacks this , I doubt if they can ever take over humans even with their growing advancements.

Well, an individual can secure a job by acquiring new and unique skills that cannot be taken by AI for a while and I think that is the only solution to that. I've been reading topics that has the same concept as this one like AI taking over human jobs and yeah it's all have the same approach like the one I just said above.
You are right, having a job that cannot easily be taken away by AI is just the best thing to do just as you said, because the way the world is going now, we are not sure of how the future might be, whether good or bad than it is now, is what we can’t tell, it’s only God that knows but I do believe that no matter what might happen in the future, whether AI takes over or not, God will surely see us through, he always makes way for the helpless, all we have to do is just to do our best and leave the rest for God because whether we secure job now for future us or invest, what will be will be, but in as much we rely on God, doesn’t mean we should fold our hands and expect Manna from above, things doesn’t work that way.

AI becoming care giver? Caregivers provide a variety of services, including emotional support. Can a robot provide the same level of emotional support as a human? Certainly no! And love and empathy are required for a care giving job.
Robots will only function optimally in industries due to the workload and the need for speed, but job specifications will always be provided by humans, making it impossible and unreasonable to have only robots in a factory. There will certainly be humans. Robots cannot replace all human jobs.

As an individual the only way to have a secure job and not to be embarrass by any institution is to be self employed and be the boss on your own, who have the power of authority to employed people to work for him and give instructions for the standardisation of his or her company or business. Also when you said an exception of medical field, i think there are other works that require human factor to be present? like the lawyers and electricians. When we talk about the lawyers a case in the court cannot solve itself unless by the present of the judge, defendant and prosecutor. So for that A.I cannot work in such aspect, same goes to An electrician, when an incident of power failure occur in a building it can never repair itself unless by the man power. Though actually A.I have taken over every other things in the world even inside our houses, office and on our roads but the only way to be secured is by self employed and be a creative person so you don't remain unemployed.

Honestly, This is really the way out. But it's not everyone that have the capacity to be self employed. Because the capital is very important in setting up a business and that is the main problem for some people and unlucky they won't be able to set up their own business due to insufficient funds. You said that Ai can't replace lawyers and electrician, I can't deny what you said, because Ai hasn't replace them yet. But what do you think will happen in future? The technology is advancing day by day, so what makes you think that they might not be replaced in the future?

Very correct, that is why its very necessary for every individual to always empowered themselves, just in case things did not actually move the way they plan, it won't affect them that much, they will always know how to scale through in times of problem and always take care of themselves without depending on the help of anyone.

lots of people plan their whole lives but if just one thing goes the wrong way they tend to get depressed and feel really down and hopeless the truth is that life will always be unpredictable 9 things out of 10 may turn the way you want to but there is always one thing that will not go well and that should be okay we should remain strong willed and we can overcome any adversity thrown our way

You must always have a backup plan for everything. Both in finances, work and even other things. And therefore I think the challenge today is that we have to be versatile people. We must have many skills that can be utilized to create opportunities for us to continue to be people who can work in all the fields needed on time. Being multitalented will be very helpful for our survival. And if we are currently working, outside of working hours we have to look for additional work to increase our income. Or we can also hone other skills outside our current field just in case. Competition in all fields is currently increasingly fierce. So, no matter what, we have to be superior to other people.

Easier said than done though. The pandemic gave rise to a lot of new virtual assistants that are working from home. Many stepped up to the plate honing marketing skills that they never studied or trained from their previous work. With the increase usage or reliance in AI the past couple of years, some of these virtual assistance were quickly cut off and replaced.

You are absolutely right mate. And I can't deny any of that either. because in reality everything is much more difficult than imagined and said. In practice, we often have to be so busy that we don't have any extra time to use. But because now is the digital era, in this digital world we have to maximize this to be able to help us in the future. We are not competing with AI and robots but we are competing with other people who are also adapting to this digital era.
