Even without checking the video, it's obvious you're lying. You need regular computer or smartphone to run internet browser, which means that website use either CPU or GPU to perform mining. Pratically, you cannot mine Bitcoin using either CPU or GPU. So that means CryptoTab is either a scam or actually mine altcoin.

The thing is that because many people are looking for ways to earn free bitcoins, they may actually believe that there is a browser they can use and be awarded free bitcoins for using the browser. I really don't trust all these things because I believe that Bitcoin has too much value right now for you to find some real place where they still claim to be able to give you free Bitcoin. If it were before when Bitcoin just came into existence, I would doubt less.

Once upon a time, it was really something that was promoted a lot and believed in by many - but as you say, there is no BTC mining with personal computers, so it is questionable what that program actually does in the background while someone is surfing. What is certain is that what is happening certainly does not have a positive effect on the condition of one's computer in terms of the load on the working memory and the increase in the temperature of the device.

I wonder how this works hmmm.
I still remember the time when I heard this years ago and to my curiosity, I also tried installing this with my old laptop (no important files or anything crypto related files on it at all).
Didn't wait for too long and I removed it immediately after a minute or two. I heard a noisy sound inside of my laptop and whenever I hear that, I know that something huge is running in my laptop that it requires lot of memory. Anyway, I don't also think that this is a good way to earn Bitcoins. You might earn some, but what are the costs? I don't know though if it's a scam or not because the browser extension itself doesn't ask for money from other people. Might as well ignore, or avoid it.

Yeah, laptop (especially old ones) shouldn't be used at 100% cpu usage all the time.

You run fake ads claiming that users can get income from just keeping their browser open, you trick them into installing and using a browser that also pushes paid search results to them, you use their CPU at 90% all the time to mine monero, and when the user finally quits because he realizes he will not make more than 1$ a month even with the latest gaming laptop you get all his earning,s it won't be much for one user, just a few cents but multiply that by a million who got tickets and there is a bit of revenue. Add all the income from pushing apps and search results and ads to him and this is how this thing will keep going forever.

Most likely you had your laptop on performance setting and it went full CPU usage, and full fan speed.
Anyhow unlikely that the earnings would have covered your power bill, a Ryzen 9 would rarely earn you 40 cents a day.
