Title: Geoff Kendrick: Second Trump Term Positive for Crypto

Standard Chartered Bank’s head of FX Research and Digital Assets Research, Geoff Kendrick, believes that a victory by former U.S. President Donald Trump in November’s U.S. presidential election would be “bitcoin positive.”

We think that a second Trump administration would be broadly positive via a more supportive regulatory environment. Trump initially opposed crypto and bitcoin during his presidency. However, he has launched several non-fungible tokens (NFTs) since leaving office. Last month, he described bitcoin as “an additional form of currency,” noting that the crypto has taken on a life of its own. In addition, he has acknowledged bitcoin’s popularity.

In between the two famous old men - the other still energetic, kicking and fighting while the other one is walking like a robot and sometimes lost in speech and stage - it is actually Donald Trump who had not done a lot of damage to the cryptocurrency industry and seems to be friendlier. Now, in case there can be a miracle and if the current polls can be true, come January 2025 there can be the 2nd term for DJT and maybe the cryptocurrency industry can have a bigger and more active voice in the decision-making process of the White House.

Although I do not trust American politicians and their statements, especially presidential candidates like Trump, the general climate may be different this time because many changes have occurred since Trump’s last presidency, and his view of cryptocurrencies has differed since that time.

I hope that his victory in the second period will be positive for the cryptocurrency industry and Bitcoin in general. Over the past months, the US government has put excessive pressure on Crypto and imposed many strict regulations and accusations in a way that greatly harmed the Crypto industry.

Recently i just found out there are many criminal cases charge against Trump. So this speculation might be worthless if judge decide Trump is guilty and receive prison time. And while i agree his 2nd term might rise cryptocurrency price, i doubt he'll ever plan to respect privacy aspect of cryptocurrency.

It is on one hand, absolutely crazy, and on the other hand, absolutely sad that the classified-doc stealing insurrectionist is actually more friendly to crypto than the current president of the united states!

This hurts to decide. It's like being forced to choose whether you want to die by being hit by a bus or by being set on fire.

I will only join those who are skeptical about what politicians say in an effort to gain power, and I think that we all have the right to doubt what one of the candidates for the US presidency says. The fact that he made a complete U-turn from his previous statements causes optimism among some, but for me Trump is still a man who can wake up in the morning and say something, and already have a completely opposite opinion in the evening.

Regardless of who the new US president is, we should keep in mind that people change, but that the main policy guidelines remain mostly the same, especially when it comes to the protection of national interests. One of those interests is certainly their domestic currency, and any other currency that would ever be a threat to it (including BTC) will not receive friendly treatment.

Here's some more positivity from Trump -> https://x.com/WatcherGuru/status/1788371259287327136

I wouldn't be in their shoes with that choice, because I feel a bit sorry for Joe, who is obviously an old and sick man who simply has nothing to look for in politics, while on the other hand, Trump has so much negative weight on his back that it is not at all clear to me how can be a candidate for president.
