Trump Attacks Biden's Crypto Awareness, Says 'Biden Doesn't Even Know What It Is' at NFT Gala

Former U.S. President Donald Trump convened with enthusiasts of his non-fungible tokens (NFT) collection on Wednesday and announced to the audience his decision to accept cryptocurrency for campaign contributions. Trump also shared with the group that President Joe Biden “doesn’t even know” what crypto is. One of the many things Trump is known for and one that endear many people to his side is his entertaining way of criticizing Joe Biden, the presumptive Democratic nominee and his main rival in the coming November presidential election which is surely going to be an epic fight between two old men where one is still kicking and the one is obviously suffering from dementia. Surely, I have never heard Joe Biden talk about cryptocurrency and his many plans for the industry as he is mostly represented by salty Gary Gensler. Now, I am assuming that the cryptocurrency industry in USA is now seeing that Trump is a lot friendlier to it than Biden and I already see a post detailing why Trump can be better for cryptocurrency if he will win in November. In the end, may the best man win for the most stressful job in the world, the presidency of the United States of America.

Trump is fully aware of how strong the Crypto community is in the US, and he knows that Biden is not pondering Cryptocurrency, so he attacks him using Cryptocurrency to make him look good in the eyes of the community.
He makes Biden look silly with his statement. Imagine it as if everybody knows what cryptocurrency is in the US, yet you, as the head of the most powerful country, are ignorant of it.

Trump is on a good start to his campaign by wooing the Cryptocurrency community.

Yeah, when he become a President, for sure he had known crypto and if I'm not mistaken, could have accepted it during his campaign.

The presidential race is witnessing crazy files, and cryptocurrencies will be on the sidelines of voters’ interests, so I don’t think anyone will care.

Even if Trump is manipulating voters by making himself seem interested in cryptocurrencies and making Biden look like an ignorant person who doesn't know anything about cryptocurrencies, I see it as a positive thing.

This is great propaganda in itself for Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies when it enters the presidential race and the crypto-ignorant president becomes the laughing stock of everyone.

I believe that it is the beginning of a great moral victory, as in the past everyone was afraid to announce that they own cryptocurrencies, but today it has become a matter of heated debate to compete for the presidency openly in front of the media.

The thing is that even if he wins with the help of crypto as part of his campaign slogan, he'll most likely stick to the traditional financial system once he sits in office. Maybe he'll sign bills favorable for crypto once it's in his table but I doubt he'll initiate one. As part of the Executive, he just can't openly support crypto as fiat alternative.

I guess I better get used to the fact that this is how politics has always worked.

But does anyone know exactly what kind of things a second term of Trump would plan for crypto?

Certainly all the government-sponsored mixer attacks would stop, for one thing, but I want to know if there are any others.

I recall Biden sign or propose some regulation which related with cryptocurrency, so to me Trump is simply lying here. I understand why he did that since the other party create or propose regulation which restrict cryptocurrency usage or privacy, but it leave bad taste. And recently i just found out about Project 2025 which sounds very authoritarian, so i doubt Trump will respect privacy or self-custodian aspect of cryptocurrency.

It seems that many have forgotten how "friendly" Trumo was towards crypto at the end of his first term, and that he had a lot of bad things planned that the new administration rejected or at least postponed for a long time. Whoever will be the president in the end will not change much when it comes to the attitude towards cryptocurrencies, because in the end they are all the same, fighting for their positions and for as much power as possible.

The current population of US right now is around 340 Million (based on a quick google search). That's almost 40% of the total population that has an idea or at least held some cryptocurrencies. I'm not a voter from US, but I know that he's just using cryptocurrencies to boost his popularity hence, increase the number of votes that he will got come November election.

He's just using cryptocurrency to get more votes. We know how politicians work just to win. It's the same here in our country, but they aren't using cryptocurrency because they don't know it at all (or at least they aren't knowledgeable enough). Anyway, even though he talked about cryptocurrency in one of his rallies, I don't think that it will affect him and his chances of winning.

It's just a political move to gain more funds and more votes, I am quite impressed that the NFT edition of Trump has made him more than 1$ billion dollars. I mean that's a big milestone for a dude who is not into crypto. I know he has outsourced experts to make this happen but still it's a big deal in my POV. Besides I don't know on what factors he must be calling Biden's view a wrong one.

The news did not mentioned any, what do you guys think, I mean I know Biden is sticking the rules for crypto users/investors/miners. They are charging huge taxes, they are even implying tax on the electricity being used for mining. Besides taxes, and others strictness against crypto platforms what is bad that biden done and Trump is point towards?

this tells his motive. and he is gaining votes because it must be true also. however, Biden seem to have idea because he planned to veto the bill about banks as custodian of coins. 

not sure if Trump gets more donation from crypto though. he could fool people but once he sits in the office, he will be part of the government too which of course is not going to be a friend of crypto.

Trump is just another puppet same as Biden, and both of them don't care at all about Bitcoin and crypto, it's more likely they want it gone.
I think they are using him again like in last election circus, so we can expect big planned events again that will affect the whole world, maybe another big war, CBDC announcement or both.

I would have also supported Trump if the only thing he will put into consideration in in accepting bitcoin as a legal tender, i will personally on my own interest campaign for him, we don't want people who will only take advantage from the crypto community to achieve their personal desires, all we want is true transparencies and accountability, by now we need governments who will see the peoples financial privacy as a right and not a threat on them.
