Title: AltcoinsTalks forum simple monthly report: May 2024
Post by: MrSpasybo on June 02, 2024, 04:40:31 PM
I decided to create a simple monthly report at the end of each month so we can track, compare and evaluate the quality of the forum.

I hope to have everyone's contributions so we can have better reporting in the future. Thank you very much!

Thank you for the wonderful efforts you make every month

Also, creating a summary to compare between the months is a great job to facilitate comparison and analyze data more easily.

Through comparison, I see that there is an increase in the number of new members, but it is meager so far, meaning only about less than 800 members for about 5 months, which is still a small number.

The biggest growth in the number of visits is around +139.65%, which is considered good and interesting.
In general, the statistics look promising, and I hope that we will make more progress in the following months.

Thank you again +1

From the data above, does it really mean that bitcoinGardern is beating Altcoinstalks by far?
Again, from Traffic sources, where does BTT traffic belong? Is it direct... To be fair, source from BTT is immense in the forum.

altcoinstalks has 137.8k and bitcoingarden has 16.8k, so altcoinstalks has 10 times more traffic. It's up to you how to count this data, but I'd not say that this data shows any excellence of bitcoingarden. ???

Slow growth which is what we can expect for another year unless a wave of new campaigns come to this forum. Then we might see some rapid growth while everyone tries to come for that $$$$.

I wonder why Russia is the #1 country? Seems like I see a few other cultures more than I see users from Russia.

No, from the data we see in the report it is quite the opposite, but I don't know how they do the calculations on SimilarWeb to show them in such a confusing way... If you look at the screenshot, you'll see that ALTT is getting a lot more traffic, among other things.

(https://i.ibb.co/18Qt00B/sim.png) (https://imgbb.com/)

The traffic that BTT receives is direct if I remember correctly.

Thanks again @MrSpasybo. +1.

Russian local board is the most active among all on the forum. Stats for Russian local board "298680 Posts, 23121 Topics", overall stats "1499830 Posts in 289094". So the fifth part of all posts are in Russian local board and moreover, topics there are more discussed than in general: around 13 posts per topic in Russian local board and just around 5 posts per topic on the forum overall. So this stats is not so unexpected.

I don't know maybe the admin or at least part of the people who developed this site is Russian? And I remember back then in 2018 when this site started is that there are a lot of Russians already.

And even in the other forum, the Russians are one of the biggest local group. But I'm sure there are local groups that are very much active, like the Philippine board wherein there are a lot of new members as well or at least teleported their account here.

As far as I know, admin is not Russian speaking. :)

As for the number of Russian speaking participants, there is enough statistics to say that there is a big percentage of them in many crypto related projects, some exchanges and other projects share this data where Russian speaking participants can give up to dozens per cents of traffic. So nothing really unexpected.

What happened in May? :o :o  Compared to April, although the number of new members, new topics, and posts remained stable, the number of visits increased significantly.

I see a lot of changes in this latest report, we have most of the traffic coming from different countries, and we are getting other numbers stable.
With nice increase in website visits I think we are slowly growing and we should see more quality content in future.
I think bitcoin mixing campaigns are responsible for this positive trend, and other privacy related services are creating topics here.

I believe something has caught the attention of the crypto community to AltcoinsTalks. The number of members + new topics + new posts has not increased significantly, but the number of views has increased by +140%, which could suggest that the views are coming from people who are not members of the forum. For example, right now we have 3793 Guests & 35 Users online. The number of Guests (people reading topics) is more than 10 times the number of AltcoinsTalks members.

Another possibility is that forum members are reading posts more diligently, while their interaction behavior has not changed. I hope that when the crypto market goes into a bullrun, the excitement of AltcoinsTalks will also increase, and many Guests will become forum members.

I wonder what percentage of the total visits were contributed by the shills (for the unaware, please refer to Lucius thread). The hired accounts need to meet their post quota too and their boss have to read them as well before paying right?

The percentage of visits from shillers is really low. If you look at the posts of those users (I seem to remember there are 3 users), you will see that they have few posts. I guess the person paying them will have to see the posts before paying, but I honestly don't know how that kind of work is done. Furthermore, following the latest warnings and badges that these users have received, their number of posts has also decreased considerably. Once identified, it is very easy to monitor their activity and take action.

I started to notice a good archive of the forum's results in Google searches. In general, let's wait for what will happen in the next three months and the results of the mixers here.
I wish the manager would share data on clicks on ads/signature links (I don't know if he does that), but it would show the true extent of the impact.

Mixers have been active on AltcoinsTalks and their impact on the forum's activity is very positive, the quality of posts has been increased. I hope that we will have more Signature campaigns from Mixers so that the most active members receive worthy rewards for their contributions.

I tried searching on Google but there are not many links to the AltcoinsTalks forum. Paying to be advertised more on Google is a good idea, but I think that with the current budget, it is not the top priority for AltcoinsTalks.

I would guess that many shill accounts are managed by the same user and the projects like similarweb will indicate them as a single user, so they are hardly making any noticeable impact in forum traffic. Anyway better to stop them, because their traffic and posts are of low quality.

I am not sure about exact SimilarWeb statistical methods, and this data is just for reference only. The increase in traffic suggests that the popularity of AltcoinsTalks has increased due to the quality of its posts or attractive events. In any case, we still have a lot to do to develop our forum, attract more users and create more value for the crypto market.

After many years, AltcoinsTalks is still alive and well and has become a competitor to BitcoinTalk instead of failing like many other cryptoforums. I think this is a great success for the forum and we are on the right track! Spam will always exist but it doesn't hinder the development of AltcoinsTalks 8)

Thanks for clarity. The way they actually displayed the data is actually confusing and could be easily misread.

Well, I also joined BitcoinGarden but unfortunately there is not much activity on that forum. As BitcoinGarden, many crypto forums have been unable to continue to develop during the crypto winter when members no longer want to discuss or share knowledge, another reason because they do not find any opportunities to generate income on those forums.

Currently, crypto knowledge has been popularized, not many people still have to go to crypto forums to get basic knowledge or learn how to create accounts and start investing. Crypto forums are just places for us to discuss market events together, share our views on the current and future market situation, and it is clear that many members are not really interested in that. I really look forward to the return of many bounty campaigns and bounty hunters, so that AltcoinsTalks can perform an additional function as a platform to launch promotional campaigns for potential projects in the crypto market, a channel for bounty hunters to contribute and earn rewards from their efforts.

This is a good reference for advertisers who want to launch a campaign here or bid on advertising ads on the forum homepage.
I feel that there's a lot of improvement in traffic, memberships, and, most of all, topics. We can achieve a lot more in a year if we continue doing what we are doing now.
I hope companies launch their campaign here to attract more quality posters.

I have only created this simple report so that we can understand the situation of the forum and assess the impact of events on the forum (campaign, airdrop, raffle...) and in the market (interest rate, bullrun, halving...) to the forum development. It would be great if the project teams and bounty managers could refer to these figures and make decisions to deploy their events on AltcoinsTalks, bringing benefits to all members of our forum.

I am really looking forward to unlimited signature campaigns, which will be a huge motivation for members to be more active, discuss more, and share more perspectives and knowledge. Perhaps that will only happen when the bullrun takes place and the crypto market has more new projects and more bounty campaigns.

You are really doing great work, the monthly comparison table of stat is also very helpful to idealize how much traffic this forum would be getting I mean everyone must be happy if this forum also grows like BTT as it's in the favor of everyone. And these stats help us see that. Although there must be a reason that traffic decreased in the April month.

There must be a reason for it who knows. But in May it increase as well. I sometimes wonder if these websites recorded multiple visits as well while the unique visits data should be shown as well. Because I really don't think we have 130K unique visitors on this platform monthly. CMIIW.

The creation of statistical tables and comparisons to increase the clarity of the forum data was suggested by AltcoinsTalks members, I only did my best. It is a pity that I do not have more specific and detailed data to better understand the forum development situation, but I think the SimilarWeb data is enough for us to trust. We have 130K visits, not 130K unique visitors in May ^^

AltcoinsTalks has existed and developed for over 6 years and continues to be the best alternative for those who do not want to use BitcoinTalk. I hope that this will continue to be true for many years to come, in the new phases of the crypto market.

You are right, without proper tools, you can't provide more details, but I think this visit detail is enough to know the progress of the forum. Besides Admin must have some type of dashboard for his own analysis. But this series that you have started to provide data each month is really great. I appreciate the efforts. I did not know the forum was 6 years old, but considering the age forum consistency is what took it to the point where it lies now.

If it would have given up like some other forums then we might not have an alternative. I am glad we have this forum. And I am very optimistic about it as well. Like in the long run like after 1 year this forum will have more than 500k visits I hope. Okay if not in one year then at least in the next 5 years it will have more than 1M what do you say? What is needed to bring that many visitors to this forum?

As an SEO content writer, it's a little hard to rank a forum as it consists of different types of data, but I might pull up with some articles (SEO optimized) to post here, so whenever a person searches for them, this site will show up. This forum is not recognized by Google algos completely, I said this because I used to search for articles or get help by writing "X X X + Bitcointalk" on Google and it shows relevant articles published on BTT (BY article I mean, a simple post as well) But it doesn't work out with ALTT.

Yeah, we still have a long journey ahead of us to continue to exist and develop. Interestingly, our admin and Presidents have never wanted to try to make AltcoinsTalks look like BitcoinTalk or compete with BitcoinTalk, we are just trying to create a user-friendly crypto forum where all voices will be heard and all contributions will be recognized. I am also trying to do what I can, one of which is to create simple monthly statistics.

Honestly, BitcoinTalk has become a major force in the crypto market, so the opportunities for other crypto forums to become smaller and less accessible to the crypto investment community. But the chance still exists, we are still here, AltcoinsTalks is still developing and at some point, we will see AltcoinsTalks presence more clearly on the most popular search engines when someone wants to learn about crypto investing.

I have realized that as well because when members of BTT teleported here they were finding it a little hard to adjust after seeing so many sectionsns, but with time admin made some changes but did not agreed to make changes coming from every teleported member. Because he made it clear this forum is not BTT and is not going to be. It has its own purpose and resources. Which I liked the most.

Because if we see from a marketing POV, its a good thing, if this forum is considered a child forum of BTT or a forum motivated by BTT, then we might not see big projects running there compaings here as well. And it won't be helpful for this forum.

I can't agree more with you, and yeah there is always a chance to exist, and so far this forum is doing great. Yeah with time, when people will create topics, this forum will be ranked as well. Maybe by the end of 2024 we will see some good results as well.

I can't agree more with you, and yeah there is always a chance to exist, and so far this forum is doing great. Yeah with time, when people will create topics, this forum will be ranked as well. Maybe by the end of 2024 we will see some good results as well.
What sets AltcoinsTalks apart is its user-friendliness. The voices of all members are valued and heard. ALTS are given more attention and have many child-boards for their communities, we have Court, we have a senate and president to work with admin to make important decisions for forum development. I have followed the development of AltcoinsTalks forum from the beginning and have seen the positive changes that our forum has achieved.

AltcoinsTalks was once very lively during the bullruns of 2017 and 2021, and I expect the same for this bullrun. I want to see more new members, more projects, more bounty campaigns, and of course, an explosion in the monthly statistics.
