A place where the Indonesian people can learn about the many potentials of Bitcoin and what it has to offer
I believe with innovations and projects like this, we will probably see more people in the crypto space soon...

A very very good idea. It doesn't really require much neither, a small space and then you promote it online for that nation or at least people who can go visit, and then you just let it be, nothing else is required. Hell you could even tell people they can bring in their own stuff if they want to, its really such a good thing. I have to say it snot going to be just this nation, we are going to see these bitcoin hubs in al l nations, I am sure this isn't even just the first one, I am sure others have tried it. I wish there was one where I live, maybe there is but I haven't heard, it would be nice to gather with other bitcoin people.

Indonesia is known as a crypto-friendly country and its people are very interested in the potential of owning crypto as an asset. As far as I know, crypto cannot yet be used as a substitute for fiat in payments, but crypto trading activities in Indonesia are very active thanks to the existence of a clear legal framework. This has helped Indonesia to be ahead of many countries in the ASEAN region, so I am not too surprised by the existence of Bitcoin House in Bali.
I hope Bitcoin House will become a symbol of financial innovation, promote the popularity of crypto in investment and help BTC gain wider acceptance. When crypto is just an asset class, there will always be winners and losers in the short term in the market, but it also opens up opportunities for blockchain technology to be applied early and bring huge benefits to Indonesia.
-
I may not be so interested in BTC houses or hubs, but it is a good thing, it shows that the number of people interested in BTC is increasing and that we are on a good path. I do not know a lot about Indonesia, but if i was a visitor to that country, i may be worried about my safety and security after visiting this hub, take note that people wrongly think all bitcoiners are rich, so i hope people, especially foreign visitors won't become a target after visiting this place.

Good to see Indonesia embracing the many possibilities of cryptocurrency most especially Bitcoin. And with this Bitcoin House in Bali, people will be expose to Bitcoin and how they can take advantage of this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to help create their financial future away from the unnecessary control of the usual financial institutions and the government. This is an interesting piece on cryptocurrency and Indonesia (https://rue.ee/blog/crypto-in-indonesia/#:~:text=Regulation%20of%20cryptocurrencies&text=As%20of%202021%2C%20cryptocurrencies%20are,money%20laundering%20and%20terrorist%20financing.): "The Indonesian government, in particular the Ministry of Finance and the Central Bank, has a policy to establish clear rules for cryptocurrencies. As of 2021, cryptocurrencies are not recognized as legal tender in Indonesia, but they can be legally traded and stored. The regulation aims to protect investors and prevent the use of cryptocurrencies for money laundering and terrorist financing." With this in mind, I am sure there is really a bright future for crypto in this country and be the leading force in the ASEAN market.

I think the title can be a bit misleading. From what I read, this is a community program dedicated to Bitcoin and crypto education in general. The government does not launch or manage this project[1]. You can use their space to learn, create, do P2P trading, etc. A very useful crypto hub that helps spread Bitcoin or crypto adoption in general. Still a good thing to have, just not as grandiose as some people might think. CMIIW.

What project? In Indonesia we cannot pay for coffee and food with Bitcoin because the government strictly monitors its citizens so that they do not make transactions within the country using currencies other than IDR. So I'm sure, there would be no crypto transactions here if this was an official event.
What I am with Bitcoin Indonesia will only provide education regarding Bitcoin, so people who want to know Bitcoin can go to the Bitcoin House. That's not bad either, considering that this can also increase knowledge for people who are still curious about cryptocurrency and especially Bitcoin. I hope that the government will also start to wake up to several innovations regarding Bitcoin and cryptocurrency in the future, so that regulations can start to be a little looser.

I did a quick search if the country has banned the use of cryptocurrency for making payments and here's what I saw on this article (https://www.bitcoininsider.org/article/117061/cryptocurrency-payments-are-now-banned-indonesia):
Indonesia’s central bank has cracked down on the use of cryptocurrencies for making payments. The announcement was made by the bank’s governor Perry Warjiyo during a virtual seminar on June 15.
I think it's pretty obvious that they don't want cryptocurrency to be used in their country as a way of making payments, and I wonder if the Government will do something about this "Bitcoin House Bali" that just opened. Of course, there's a chance that the article that I shared has wrong details in it (hope not). It's a pretty good idea of course to teach other people the benefits of Bitcoin and crypto in general.

People don't have to move on to Bali if their country is Bitcoin friendly they can do their own through their initiative, here in our country we have places like this, but it's not a house it is more of a restaurant or gaming hub.
Countries can set up their Bitcoin like museum or knowledge it will not cost that much and an do done through donations, its good for countries who are in the stage of Bitcoin adoption, the more they see the Bitcoin logo the more the Bitcoin is getting branded and get into the consciousness of the people.

I do not understand why I cannot find any info abut this so called "Bitcoin House" besides the social media post above, which has the exact same content as the OP.
The house does not even look like a real building, but just a 3D model of one.
Does anyone have any actual information about this thing and where it is located?

I find it's weird the tweet says it'll show many potentials of Bitcoin when Indonesia doesn't allow Bitcoin as payment method. So i expect they refer to investment or asset when they use word "potentials".
-
Yes, Bitcoin or crypto in general is legal in Indonesia, but as a commodity asset, it is not legal or prohibited if used as a means of payment. And various events or crypto activities in Indonesia are growing very rapidly. And the rules for cryptocurrency II also exist and are very clear. So that we as Indonesian citizens already have legal protection regarding this. And you no longer need to be afraid to talk about cryptocurrency, as long as you don't just use it as a means of payment.
And Bitcoin House Bali makes a lot of sense. Especially in Bali, there are lots of people, both domestic and foreign, who come there. And this is also one of the attractions for introducing crypto, not only for native Indonesians who come to Bali to travel but also foreign tourists.
I also read about this news and it is indeed very good, and is also supported by the government. This is not just a Bitcoin house for crypto activists, but its target is also for the general public, to provide education or knowledge regarding crypto, especially Bitcoin, building community and development. other.

I didn't even know BTC payments is illegal in Indonesia, i have checked and you are correct, i initially even thought that one would be able to spend BTC on certain things which may be sold in the BTC house, but i was wrong.
Maybe the house is simply to discuss about BTC, how to buy it and store it for long term returns. There is limited info about this BTC house, let's hope there would be more info sometime later.

Something like this? https://x.com/btchousebali/status/1796574076833812812
I do not expect a permanent or a registered address. From what I noticed from the pictures, it's just random places (house/restaurants) where they decide to meet up.
-
I do not think that the project is governmental, but rather an investment idea for someone who noticed the increase in the number of people interested in Bitcoin, so he started a commercial activity called Bitcoin, which might attract some people to go to that place in order to get to know others or make some deals or other things.
The interaction on the tweet is good, which means the idea is successful.

Aside from their Twitter account, they also have a website[1]. And from quick digging, i found out they create list of past and upcoming on eventbrite[2] where tweet shared by OP talk about event located on "Jalan Kayu Manis Kec. Kuta Utara, Bali 80351 Indonesia"[3].

So an education hub platform (Bali) introducing libraries made in containers? I think the hub is totally new as Twitter has few followers and it was made in January of 2024. So this project is pretty new and considering the efforts they are making I think they deserve more. Although the Bitcoin News channel has supported them and spread the word about them.
We need more support like these to support this as knowledge is power and without it, many people will be like donkeys, they will either work like donkeys or either don't work like donkeys. Overall, the smartest way is to work with knowledge. I can't manage to go Indonesia just to know more about it, as its a local thing for locals, I don't think foreigners are going to be there and if they are expecting then that should not.
-
If there government could allow this then they are not far from adoption because I believe that when this positive move is being created it's very easy for the country to accept bitcoin as a means of legal tender.
Anyway it's to educate people the more, to me I would say it's better they add it Into their scheme of work to have it as a course study or subject to teach in school with this it would allow young teenage to have vast knowledge about bitcoin and the entire cryptocurrency and blockchain itself.

BALI is an island that is well known throughout the international world, many from other countries go on holiday or do business there so that when Bitcoin digital currency technology is applied to purchase certain transactions it can make things easier for tourists who are on holiday in Bali. But they also have to understand the risks of using Bitcoin if it is used for transactions. Apart from unstable price movements, Indonesia also has no clear regulations regarding Bitcoin as a legal means of payment.

- Do you mean that there are many crypto communities in your country, but your government is not that supportive of the cryptocurrency or bitcoin that we are talking about? Do you also mean that there is not a single private business sector in your country that accepts or recognizes Bitcoin or cryptocurrency?
Don't you have a local exchange there known as Indodax? which is also a regulated exchange platform that can be considered there at the moment, am I right?

This shows that your country is still friendly with bitcoin even as it's not legal in your country and yet you people have an open placed for Bitcoin and any other blockchain related event center. This wasn't applicability with my country and is much harder over here.
