I have 12 steps to first floor from kitchen in second floor.

so I am still  discovering just how many steps / flights of stairs I can do.

I did 13 minutes no rest . Up and down 33 flights it is not easy.  I will cap at 20 minutes which will be close to 600 steps.maybe I get there by end of junethe

Only 31 flights of stairs. I set a timer at 14:14 and I did a more controlled deliberate pace.

SO the time was a bit longer. I shut the ac off at 6am and did the steps at 10am. House is warm and no muscle issues.

I am near limits of what is safe for me. Knees feel just a bit creaky at  the 25 flight mark of steps.

I will add time to timer tomorrow.  15:15 wish me luck.

You ever try to do them backwards? It really works some of those not so often used knee muscles. Nice job keeping up the stepping.

I may do that soon. What I have found is the steps are harder to do than the stationary bike.

So I push breathing and cardio more easily. I was doing 23 minutes x 3 on the bike but it is 69-70 minutes a day a lot of time. The stairs are 14 minutes and I do 10 minutes on the bike after supper using exercise bands.

So I am doing 24-30 minutes vs 69-70 minutes and seem to get better results.

I hope to do 20 minutes on the stairs once a day  and maybe 15 minutes light duty on the bike

a 35 minute exercise routine with better results than a 70 minute routine would be nice.

In a magical world that follows my will I get down to 177-180 pound of lean body.

My wind improves the wife is inspired and starts doing steps helping her recover from her covid lung damage.

So far all of the bold type above is actually moving into truthful and leaving fantasy.

Oh I dropped my a1c from 6.7/6.8 to 5.8/5.9 weight is 192 vs 213 all since the beginning of this year.

I won't fully credit this thread as the reason why. But this thread is certainly one of the reasons why I am improving.

My wife has also started the steps and her lungs are improving.

So a combo if exercise and diet is helping me out.

I take a pill for my heart called Jardiance that is a big drug used for diabetics but also has uses for heart patients, it lowers A1c. Not sure if you need the drug, but if diabetic you might consult your doctor about it.

If you are doing some sort of exercise daily(even just walking) you will end up way overweight and in bad health.

As humans, we are advised to take up exercises at least three times a day to burn down calories that are not good for the body.

One age or body factor will determine the kind of exercise they will do to get the desirable results they want. Because the exercises that someone who's fat and wants to lose weight will be different from an old person who wants to stay healthy and eat healthy foods.

Without being told, everyone knows that the importance of adequate and regular exercise can never be overemphasized, the same way the body needs food, that's exactly how much the body needs exercise.
A certain doctor once said that each day a person exercises, he increases his/her lifespan, which shows how important exercise is to the human body.

I voted diet seems better for me because if you exercise and you neglect your diet all the good results that exercise will bring you will go to nothing as the loss of pounds during exercise will be replaced by a poor diet.
I have a friend who does heavy exercise but after that eats one box of pizza and a big size of burger and gulps a lot of Coke.

If I had to choose diet or exercise, maybe I would prefer exercise over a diet where all foods are prohibited and measured, I tried dieting but it didn't work, my body is getting bigger, but with exercise I feel the benefits of my body being denser and still eating freely. eat anything  in moderation

I tried to make some diet, but it seems like diet doesn't want me. :D Just kidding, but it's hard to diet especially if you know that the foods that you're eating are delicious.

As for exercise, I did try it a few years ago where I downloaded the app, followed the following exercises for 30 days, and nothing changed to me. As of this moment, I'm trying to do some jumping rope exercises, and I'm making a bit of a progress. Exercise works for me, but if you want to have better results, changing your diet to a more nutritious one would be better. Unfortunately, that isn't the case for me. :D

Excercise is a must for me as I do it to keep fit. I mostly sit for a long period of time and as such requires me to always engage in exercise to flex my muscles. I do use smart watch which keeps me alert. Whenever I sit for too long, I get alerted by the device on my wrists and it also check my pulse rate, and other aspects of my physical wellbeing to take actions. In all I take exercise very seriously to put my health in check.

Yeah I am adding time to my cardio. I climb stairs 40 flights in 20 minutes. Goal is to get to 60 flights in 30 minutes.

Voted for "Diet seems to work fine with me".

Gained some pounds lately due to some medications that I have been taking but resolved this by avoiding some foods or shall we say, eating the right kind of foods at the right time.

Exercise is massively over rasted for weight loss. Killing yourself on the treadmill etc is largely ineffective for weight loss as recent studies have shown.

Low carb clean diet and do some walking. I have lost 5 stone fairly easily. I'm an ex bodybuilder but had to stop due to injury so being almost 22 stone and having little muscle left was not ideal. Took about 18 months but if you do it over a longer period you are far more likely to succeed. There is no quick fix. Ozempic pens etc I would really strongly recommend people do NOT consider as there have been a number of people getting serious gastro intenstinal blockages from them.

Eat clean, non processed food. Low carbs is crucial, avoid foods with high glycaemic load, gentle to moderate exercise. Its simple as that really. Crash diets normally fail. If you lose weight too fast the chances of you putting it back on are statistically much higher.

Let me know if you need any advice. Used to run a bodybuilding/health forum so learned a bit over the years!

I did keto in the past, more or less trying to reduce carb intake and focus on fat and protein. Unfortunately, my immune system is acting up whenever I eat protein, and buying seafood for that is out of my budget. So I need to exercise regularly to maintain my health. On the other hand, I never got fat regardless of what I eat, but my stamina is definitely a problem so I wanted to fix that. I also tried hard to change my sleeping schedule since keeping myself awake at night has a bad effect on my long-term health too. CMIIW.

I do not practice dieting, but I do not eat everything. I also consume lots of fruits and local herbs.

I also take exercise and fitness very seriously. This is why every week I make it a habit to visit the gym three times, swim once, and then take a 45-minute non-stop run.

Exercise is very important because it keeps your joints and muscles moving and is going to improve your health and increase your life span.

I too have noticed same about protein consumption on my health and had to reduce my protein intake. More fruits I consume and more exercise I do.  I think I have stamina and I can be able to withstand a long time engagement when it comes to exercise, shock, pressure and some others. These I have long noticed about me and I do not take my exercise for a play.

That's right, exercise is good for everyone and also good for health, which help us not to fall sick and also help us to be fit or maintain our body shape etc.

That's why it's essential and advisable to practice exercise for our own benefits like it helps us to sleep well and can reduce depression as well help us to improve our mood, even prevent some heart diseases like diabetes etc. So doing exercise is very good for our body system.

I once asked an elderly man about their current health status and he replied me saying " sincerely speaking, if you want to live a healthy life, you must always take exercise serious" I began to wonder if an elderly man of such age could say such a thing, how much more about me that is a youth. After hearing him saying that to me I took my exercise very serious. I had to buy a smart watch to put myself on a check after sitting for too long.

As we all know, exercise burns down calories stucked up in the body as Nd other unwanted metabolism that can be discharged out of the body through excercise. It is good one inculcate exercise as a lifestyle so that they don't have issues with their health in the future.

Whether the results of exercise are worth it or not will be seen from a person's fitness every day. He can anticipate the work he does, because with a good portion of exercise, you can be sure that every day he will be able to do good activities and be able to work in a portion that can still produce good work. Good.
But sometimes exercise must also be measured by one's own abilities. There are those who are able to do sports that are quite draining, but there are those who are not able to end up reducing the portion of the load they do. Everything is the same and the results will still be useful for him whether there is a burden or not. The most important thing is that the activity is continuous.
