An ancient Ethereum (ETH) investor has transferred 9,518 ETH, valued at approximately $36.33 million, to Kraken. This event has raised eyebrows among Ethereum whales, although the volume needs to be more significant to sway the market.
The Ethereum transfer originated from the initial coin offering (ICO) phase of the cryptocurrency, where the purchase price was a mere $0.31 per ETH. According to Look On-Chain, a prominent blockchain analytics firm, this transfer is part of a more significant holding bought during Ethereum’s genesis.

Although I do not encourage hoding altcoins, this example shows us how a correct investment, even a small amount, may be enough to change your life. Therefore, instead of spending your money on unnecessary things or buying meme, AI, pumpdumpcoin, it is better to focus on currencies that may have a future and continuous development, and then you will find your investment portfolio growing well in the long term.

I think every token is good if it can bring profits to investors. BTC is the crypto king, of course it is the best investment, but ALTS can also bring bigger profits in bullrun. For me, besides BTC, ETH is a crypto worth investing in for the long term, even investors can hold ETH from a cycle to another cycle.
ETH ICO investors have made big profits. I myself heard about ETH ICO in 2015 but missed the opportunity because I underestimated the power of smart contracts, similar to when I missed the BNB ICO because I didn't believe in the potential of CEX tokens. Anyway, I also congratulate the wise investors who invested in ETH in ICO and held it until now. They've made a huge profit for their faith in ETH!

This is an amazing reason why HODLING can really make someone really so rich. But there are a lot of factors at play here. One, one must be selecting a project that will not go scam or fraud, just like Ethereum or Bitcoin, for that matter. Second, the timing has to be right. This guy (that is assuming he is not she) made his move during the early days of Ethereum when the price was very much negligible. Well, in this case, there is always that element of luck as nobody can be able to buy something he does not know...and he trusted the people behind Ethereum at that time most especially Vitalik Buterin. Right now, it is so hard to determine which of the new altcoins will really make it on the market as the competition is getting stiff everyday and there are so many shit ones sprouting all over every now and then.

At the end of the day, it's all about risk. How will you handle the risk of investing into something new. Risking some few bucks just to buy a new project might change your life like what happened to what the OP has shared to us.
I mean those who bought at the ICO of ETH didn't know that it will grow up this huge. Same with BNB. Nobody knows that BNB will be this huge. Same with those who risked their money buying new tokens on DeFi, on NFT, etc. Holding a token for a long time sometimes can be good, because we don't know if the token we are holding will be as huge as what ETH is right now, or not. The investor risked his money buying ETH on it's ICO when nobody trusts the project since it is a new one, and now he's getting the fruits of his risk. A huge amount of money by holding a coin for a decade.
What's the lesson? Continue to buy tokens from new projects because maybe 1 or 2 of them might be as huge as the top coins that we are seeing right now. Just lower your expectations because any new project can be a scam project. :) Like what OP said, don't buy meme coins (or shitcoins). :D

Yes, but at that time ICOs were not popular, or at least they were not a long-term investment. Many sold ETH at prices between $100 and $400, which still represented a good profit. Therefore, the best investment for these new ICOs is to get your capital back quickly once reasonable profits occur. Hence, all subsequent gains are free.

Bitcoin and Ethereum are rare coins that were a successful project. Anyone who bought them early at a very cheap price was lucky. There are also a few Altcoins that occupy the first ranks in the market. Other than that, most of them are failed or scam projects.
The problem with the initial offering of any coin is that there are fears and uncertainty, especially as a result of the huge number of SCAM projects. How will you be able to know that this is a coin that has a great future and will achieve tremendous growth in the future and is not a scam or a failed project?
That's why we hear a lot about people getting rich as a result of buying in those early days because most of the projects were real, but we rarely hear about this these days.

I think it's not just a wallet and there's more than one user behind it. Have you noticed the tendency that when such wallets wake up = instant volatility on the market.
P.S. As for me, it happens far from nothing and someone is behind it. I don't believe in trivial coincidences, especially when it happens on a regular basis. It's another manipulator, anyway. 8)

Coins that have a significant innovation difference compared to bitcoin are certainly worth holding for the long term. But, it's hard to find innovative projects like ethereum these days, I mean maybe their good news is buried by thousands of shills of shitprojects in all channels so we don't notice them.
