My answer is No. 99% of coins on pump.fun are not legitimate. The best way is to wait for the coin to get stronger before trying to invest.
What are your opinions? Has anyone here been lucky with any token from pump.fun?

I don't even know or heard that site , is it from solana network? because if not then why posted here in Solana section/sub forum.
and can you share more more details here so we don't need to check the site because I hate clicking or entering sites just like that.
and also since you are confirmed that this is not a legitimate then why need to share here in this platform?
-
Why do you ask if the answer is not valid according to you, this is clearly a meme isn't it? I just heard it now, this is nothing better than meme coins all of it is just a trap never buy or invest it, there is no good advice to buy, love your money do not make any purchases on unknown memes

It's like a decentralised launchpad on Solana network. Dev won't be able to remove liquidity after adding some amount of coins to liquidity. When the coin get to a particular marketcap, The liquidity will be automatically burnt and people can trade on Jupiter and so on..
I started using it not up to a month and all I've bought was scam coins lol. Although, $Mother was launched there and it went like 1000x. Few memecoins also.

Yes, it's a meme. I've seen people claiming to have made huge profits with proofs. I was thinking maybe someone could give me tips on how to get legitimate coins from the DEX. At times, we need to ask question like this.

Visited the website, and what I'm seeing is a bunch of animation on the top left, and they are probably bots. No, they really are bots. People claiming that they are making huge profits? Are you sure about that. Care to please send some screenshots here because from what I'm looking at their website, it seems like their site is being created by a grade school. Not attractive at all.
As for the legitimacy of the project, I don't think that it's legit like you said, and it's a meme coin, so it's a no-no for me already. As for the newbies here, please don't waste your money and invest on this one. There are other projects out there that are better than this one. :)

Aha... it's very unlikely that a platform that is not so well-known has such dense activity for transactions... really my eyes can't escape focusing on the animation that changes color and moves around on the left of the page... I hope there are no more victims for this website, because I am becoming increasingly suspicious of the way their business works... this is clearly very suspicious, because the website is not handled professionally, I am sure the business model is not handled professionally either. It's better not to believe this than to risk your assets in a suspicious place.

This is actually my first time to hear of such a site and just by hearing on its name, I can already sense that this can just be for pump and dump coins and nothing more worthwhile. Now, don't get me wrong, I know that many people can be making money with this idea and strategy but of course, there will be risks associated with such a crypto investment option. That is no matter how the site seems to be telling us that it can be safe, there is nothing further from the truth. Of course, this can be a biased review so I am not advising anyone to follow my assumption but if anyone is willing to try this platform one has to be careful and must not expose a lot. Good luck, people.

A lot of meme coins are being created because of the bull run to decieve investors, and some people will fall for their trap and will be rug pulled. This is why it is not good to see new project as a means to invest because most of them are pump and dump projects. Think of investing on a good coin that have survived the market. Avoid new projects during the period will help one from being scammed.

What you mean about getting stronger?
Hype build up?
Liquidity is building up?
Actually it is really that hard to make yourself that making up such decision on dealing up with coins on their first launch or get listed on DEX or whatever platform it would be.
You wont really be able to know whether this one wouldnt really be ending up on a rug pull but since the thing that we do have in mind is that we are pertaining
about having that 1000x gains or 100x then you would really be taking up such risks and this is why despite of the danger on which these new projects new launching
then there would really be those people whom do really love on dealing up with these things.

Don't buy coins that are already hyped, because this can make our assets trapped there, unless they are Top coins whose fundamentals are clear.
In Cryptocurreny, sometimes it's like gambling, analysis is often wrong and doesn't apply, but it's the luck factor that makes us rich.
If we want to try to buy it, we can do that, but never cry if our money suddenly disappears.

Simply reading that should be enough to keep people from visiting that site again...
How it works: Pump prevents rugs by making sure that all created tokens are safe. Each coin on pump is a fair-launch with no presale and no team allocation.
Furthermore, the design reminds me of the Internet of the 90s but without that being the intention. Nowhere is it explained how this supposed "protection" that appears in the pop-up when loading the website is carried out. Without a doubt, one more place to which we should not connect our wallets and from which it would be better to stay away.

Reminds me of a time when a scam clone website of bitmain had a big red announcement claiming that the others were fake and that they were the only legit ones. Crappy websites will always try to ensure the clients that exactly what's going to happen is not going to, which we all now how it will end in reality.
Also:
step 3: sell at any time to lock in your profits or losses
Wtf?
The best way is to wait for the coin to get stronger before trying to invest.
That can also mean you're going to buy at the top so not the best strategy if you're looking only for shirt term profits either.

I got rugged so many times on that site though I make a few gains as well but most of the time I got dumped by devs as it is very common on that site someone will jeet you maybe devs or whales so beware. You need to get the best luck in there as things will happen very fast so make trial and error and work on your strategy to outsmart others trying to get your funds out. For now I refrain from investing on that site but some people are profitable there there are fast and smart so yeah I got a lot of shitcoins in my wallets right now from there hahaha

Are meme coins and shitcoins legitimate? All these meme coins are nothing buy a product of pump and dump coins with nothing valuable for people, they don't have anything serious to add to people and nothing specifically and special to do as projects, just pump and dump and nothing more, that's what all meme coins are doing even the one's you call legitimate ones.
If you know what's bets for you, buy other altcoins that offer something unique to the investors, atleast you will know that you are not investing into something bad and worthless. All altcoins are not different actually but one is better than the other, stay away from meme coins.

Actually this is the first time i am familiar with such sites but the way their trust talks are presented may not be safe. I'm not bashing anyone for following my guess but the crypto world is different because if your money is scammed you will never get it back. There are many of these ideas and techniques people are making money from so we may have disagreements. Moreover there will be risks associated with such crypto investment options, so it may be foolish to assume that they are 100% safe.
-
You ask and then answer it yourself, it looks funny.
If your real goal is to educate people not to buy the coin, then change the title to "pumpdotfun coins are not worth buying", that would be more suitable. You just need to explain why it is inappropriate and should be avoided.
-
I had to check the website for myself to see what is obtainable there but I am not comfortable and convinced about the whole settings. This is my first time of hearing about such website. If such website renders such services, how come it is not that popular?
I see a connect wallet option which makes me sceptical about the whole stuff. I think OP should properly do an elaborate explanations about the website and their services rendered so that we do not make any mistake.

I am not familiar with this site, OMG the site has around 6 million users and the layout of the site is just so unsophisticated. It looks like a spam site but after seeing the traffic there I think its either a hidden gem that is kept hidden from many people or its really a spam site that no one give a shit about it. Overall, the site also contains adult content.
I really fear clicking on any link so for instance, I will not, but if you want to know of any legitimate way to buy coins especially meme coins then before buying them search about them, investing in such coins is not so profitable as things can go wrong in a matter of second because Meme coins are highly volatile. SO please avoid such risky trading.
-
Investing in such projects requires that the answer for most of us be “do not invest” and that you have logical reasons for investing and are lucky to achieve these reasons. Otherwise, do not invest.

- It is no longer good to buy coins from pump.fun because recently that platform has been exploited several times by hackers, not just once, so it is no longer safe to invest there because most of them are just meme coins.
But if you want to stop gambling, you can do it there. If you're willing to throw money away, go ahead and invest in that platform because it's your money that will be used there.

Exactly. Do not invest in the end we will lose with memes it is not investment advice, there is no get-rich-quick scheme in investment.
When someone asks me if investing in memes is good, I will not be then what I say is why not choose bitcoin, you don't need to think about high prices because someday the price can be higher than now.
-
All the advice says it is too risky the name of the domain connotes that it's a pump and dump and we all know that when coins or tokens are marked pump and dump the probability of losing is high and gaining profits is low.
Go with the fundamentals when looking for coins or tokens to invest, investment should be profitable and not risky only gamblers go to this kind of platform and they have enough funds to lose.
-
Hmm. I don't know what pump.fun is but I know that there is something like mint.fun as well. Maybe it's the same? It's like the NFT version of it. There's nothing real and it's copied IMO. I have yet to try pump.fun though but I don't think it will be a good idea.

The language used and the way of speaking is totally focused on users with less experience, and on that "website" they say exactly what these new users want to hear, that everything is going to work perfectly and that they are going to earn large amounts of money with the investment, and practically without any risk of loss. I hope no one uses that website or connects their wallet, but unfortunately it will be too late for some. There should be a blacklist for sites like that, the more users knew about the websites added to that list, the fewer users would be scammed.

You absolutely understand me better than anyone here. I swap different shitcoins to shitcoins also. If I think one will be better than other, I sell and swap to that. But Tbh, I've never been lucky. Haha.
I just can't take my eyes away from doing try and error hoping to get lucky one day. But all I do have in mind is I'm burning some money with hope and I've always been right so far. I know I'm gonna be wrong one day.lol

Some meme coins are legitimate. Examples are Dogecoin and Shiba Inu. These coins are supported worldwide. Although, I somewhat agree with you because 90% of all meme coins are pump and dump schemes. However, you know new meme coins are just like a betting platform where you can either lose your money or get rich. And the probability of winning is lower than losing.

I actually stated my opinion. My topic is a question for people to either support or go against my opinion. I said it's not safe because of my experience, but there might actually be people who know how to go around it, and I've seen a reply that gave me more insight into how it works.

It's actually like a launchpad on the Solana network where anyone can create a token and add liquidity without being able to remove it. When this token gets to a particular market, it will be automatically added to Raydium. You can read more about it here: https://www.bsc.news/post/what-is-pump-fun

If I hear you clear, you said "anyone can create a token and add liquidity" fine it is no big deal though but is it reliable? How come it has not been known or heard of all these while? Who are the people behind it? I think dealing with such a website needs utmost caution because you never can tell the real reason why it was developed and we have no idea how long it has been in existence. So you ought to be careful.

After the bull run, many of the newly created coins launched because of the bull run will diminish into the tiny air, never to resurrect again in the crypto market.
This is simply the main reason why, one should DYOR before investing in a new project launch towards this bull run because they are most rugpulled by their owners
