I believe in BTC and that it will hit 100k with ease this year.
I not so sure about Eth ever getting to 5k.
Eth may behave more like LTC is doing at the moment. Just fail to get back to where it once was.

I believe that Bitcoin and Ethereum will be moving at the same time into that goal since they now have their ETFs approved though for Ethereum it has not officially started yet bur definitely coming. We have to understand that there seems to be a symbiotic relationship between these two biggest cryptocurrencies...where the direction Bitcoin is taking can be affecting the other. And with the way things right now, I can already see BTC getting into $100K zone easily...at least within this year and we are still in the middle of the year so there is an ample time for that and for sure the same thing with Ethereum as it is already almost in the $4K range. And that is the reason why we need to HODL as many BTC and ETH so that by 2025 we can be financially free for good.

kidding aside , while ethereum is more than just a thousand dollars to reach 5k and Bitcoin is still 30k behind yet I am more confident that bitcoin will break 100k first before ethereum(if ever it will reach 5k) hit that price.
so I voted for option 1 as well.

ETH might reach $5 before Bitcoin reaches $100K, but only if the ETF activity with Ethereum reaches a fever pitch.
Otherwise I can really see them both hitting their targets at the same time, but sometime next year. After all, BTC feels like it's closer to $100K relatively speaking, than ETH is to $5K. I mean remember it used to be worth just a few hundred dollars.

I think Bitcoin will get to paradise Park first before Etherum. 70k price in June is a good significant for bitcoin price moving to 100k faster than Etherum moving to 5k. We already have bitcoin ETF that will make the price pump faster compare to Etherum who is always being carried along by bitcoin price movement. I go with NO 1

I am kind of sure that Bitcoin will reach 100K before ETH reaches 5K. Even though Bitcoin market price relies on ETF market movements a lot, I still think we can move forward even if those companies keep dumping the market. Bitcoin is getting centralized every day. Some whales and exchanges hold a big portion of Bitcoin, which they can use to manipulate the market. For average joe like me, we just hold and wait!
I never liked ETH because it does not have a maximum supply limit and it moved from POW to POS. Another reason was high fees. But, Bitcoin network is become expensive these days. So, can't complaint about ETH fees anymore.

Really hard to tell as always on which asking about price speculations on upcoming months or years to come whether on Bitcoin or with some top altcoins on which this would really be that entirely random i should say. There's no way that we could really be able tell but basing up with the typical conditions on which Bitcoin would be always be the main trend setter
then Bitcoin would most likely be the first on hitting 100k than for ETH to hit 5k, but in overall or honestly which one one really knows.

I have a different opinion from you: BTC price has grown strongly thanks to the positive impact of BTC Spot ETF and has created a new ATH before the halving. The same can happen to ETH after the ETH Spot ETF is traded and attracts money from traditional investors, meaning ETH can reach a new ATH at $5K while BTC continues to re-accumulate for a larger future growth to lead the entire crypto market into a bullrun.
I love Ethereum because it has smart contracts, a large community, and leads many major trends in the market. Market need both BTC & ALTS, and ETH is the leader of ALTS or digital oil :) I am really looking forward to the explosion of ETH price to $5K then $10K to trigger altseason this summer!

I'm sure if Bitcoin is $100k and also ETH can reach $5k. However, for this year or early next year, we are still not so sure. The point is that we are sure that both of them will achieve this price target.
Then the reason?
No excuses, just sure.
I know about this e-newsletter, actually only the title and the first paragraph. It's just that I was attracted by clickbait: that Bitcoin will reach $100k this year. And I believe that, even though I don't have the ability to analyze this possibility, I'm just sure.
-
I just wanted to mean that it doesn't really mean anything, ı mean both looks like its normal, and both will be done, just don't know what would it mean if one does it before the other. I am sure there must be some reason to ask it, but I just think that its going to be quite normal and both of them will be done one way or another. I just need to refocus on the situation and think that we are going to basically do something that will not take that long, it should be something that will be quite easy to handle in the end. Hopefully we could just see that change, its going to be very entertaining in the end.

I think its possible for Ethereum raise up to $5k if bitcoin success break out above $100k, seems more higher than $5k for Ethereum if bitcoin show significant movement. Currently if bitcoin raise up 10% has potential for Ethereum price increasing more than 20% and I believe if Bitcoin in short term can break to $100k make Ethereum easily up to $5k.
Every market movement up or down Ethereum always follow with bitcoin price and get opportunity if bitcoin up drastically not difficult for Ethereum up to higher price.
But still need waiting right moment because bitcoin looks stable in last several days and taking several months later with potential new ATH price for ETH.

I picked option 1
I looked at when Bitcoin reached its ATH last bull run in 2021, and I also looked at Ethereum as well.
To my surprise, it happened on the same day which is the 10th of November 2021.
Before doing it, I thought that Bitcoin will be the one that will reach $100K before Ethereum will reach $5K because I believe that all altcoins are kind of lagging when it comes to price movement and because of that, I thought that Bitcoin will move first before Ethereum and other altcoins. Well anyway, I voted for Bitcoin will reach $100,000 first because we've already seen Bitcoin surpassed its 2021 ATH of $69,000 while Ethereum hasn't.

You haven't said anything wrong here and all you said make sense. It is possible for ETH to reach 5K if ETH ETF gets approved and whales start buying more. But, we don't know what is going to happen. I expect Bitcoin to reach 100K anytime soon. The problem is that let's start to bleed if Bitcoin moves down. But Alts pumps as well at the same pace. If the Bitcoin market behaves the same way it's doing now (Going up a little and suddenly dumping), then it will be hard for the adults to move forward.
If we talk about Liking/disliking ETH, I respect your opinion. But ETH has become more centralized, and I don't think I will ever hold more than $1000 worth of ETH because of that. But it is true that I use ETH on Layer2 to farm airdrops and participate in other ecosystems.

I believe in BTC and that it will hit 100k with ease this year.
Do you mean BTC price will be $100k in 2024?
Honestly, I want to be optimistic about it but it looks not easy to reach $100k. Just take a look the price movement of Bitcoin in the last few weeks, it even looked very difficult to cross $73k again. It almost crossed $72k few times, sadly it always failed and the Bitcoin price dropped again below $70k. This is not a strong sign for $100k, right? :-\
I not so sure about Eth ever getting to 5k.

Ethereum price looks more massive to raise if there is a big trigger. Recently, we heard that Ethereum ETF is approved, I think it is a big factor to trigger the huge pump in the near future. IMO, it is very different with LTC, ETH is incomparable with LTC. ETH should be much better than LTC in any aspect. Considering the good news on Ethereum, I believe it can reach $5k in this year.
-
There is this news that was posted on telegram which I came across on where BitGo CEO Mike Balshe saying that 'Bitcoin could hit 120,000 dollars to 150,000 dollars at the ending of this year'. Most times I have to think about Ethereum why they don't always give significant price on other cryptocurrency apart from Bitcoin or do we say much priority are being given to bitcoin.

there is a small shaking happened in Bitcoin today and another chance for each of us to buy in discounted price so lets see where this heading .

We have the same thoughts on that. I looked at the chart of Bitcoin and ETH, in ETH there is a lot of resistance that needs to be broken before it created a new ATH, while Bitcoin only needs to break few resistance to create a new ATH. However, if they both create a new ATH, ETH only need around $1k increase of price to reach 5k while Bitcoin needs around $30k increase. But since it still depends on the market cap and circulating supply of a coin, I can say that Bitcoin still has the chance to hit $100k first before ETH.

Bitcoin price has already crossed $70k and current price is $69k and there ETH price is around $3.5k. Bitcoin needs to pump another $30k to cross $100k which is about 45% more from the current price. ETH on the other hand also needs to pump about 43% to cross $5k. On average, Bitcoin and Ethereum would need to pump roughly equal amounts from their respective price positions to meet both targets. so it is very difficult to predict which one will cross this target first. But I think Bitcoin will cross $100k first. Then instantly ETH goes to $5k
-
Because altcoins are proven to be more easily stimulated when there is a bullish moment, ETH touching $5k will be reached first before BTC touches $100k...both need +50% to reach the target, therefore ETH is the one that has higher volatility which will touch $5k.
Unfortunately I am not an ETH holder, I only have BTC in a large % of my asset allocation for cryptocurrency. Sooner or later I'm still waiting for BTC to hit $100k this year... hopefully not later than early 2025.

Currently, Bitcoin price is around $65k and Ethereum is about $3.3k. They must be pumped higher to cross the expected prices. However, I still think Ethereum can reach $5k faster if the good news of Ethereum ETF continues. We also must consider that altcoins is more volatile than Bitcoin. So, it won't be very surprised if Ethereum can increase more than 40% in a shorter time. Meanwhile Bitcoin needs to take a longer time to increase above 30%. $100k may be the peak of Bitcoin price in this bullrun season, it won't be very easy to be reached. ;)
-
I voted 1, as almost all my crypto holdings are in Bitcoin, so I want to believe, but percentage-wise, ETH is "only" 41.5% away from $5k, while BTC is 51% from $100k, so it will be a longer way to go for Bitcoin.
That being said, if we trust the 4-year cycle patterns, historically BTC would shoot up first and alts would follow later, so there's a chance of it hitting $100k faster.

Bitcoin is decentralized, which means if the price grow, everyone will grow but ethereum is only enriching some particular groups of people especially the founders.
This price calls are just PR and encouragement and there is nothing more. If Bitcoin was going to make a new time high, even them will not see it coming because I can confidently say that only few people expected Bitcoin to reach that high last bull run, some people became bullish after that but the opposite happened. I know that Bitcoin will certainly make a new all time high but it's not subjective to anyone encouragement or hype.

I believe more that Ethereum will reach the price of five thousand dollars than Bitcoin 100k. More precisely, I will say that both of these cryptocurrencies will reach these values, but Ether will be able to grow to this figure faster. The fact is that although Solana has become a worthy competitor to Ether, and there is already talk about it becoming the number two cryptocurrency, Ether remains an excellent solution invented by Vitalik. And all because Ether can be imagined as land on which skyscrapers can be built. By this analogy, I mean the number of cryptocurrency technologies based on Ether.
-
Seems like a quite close race, I like this kind of situation, I do agree that it will not be all that away from each other, feels like it can very well be done, and I think it would be not a bad idea at all. The best thing to do in this case would be making sure that we deal with a good return with both of them, so if you could invest in both of them then you are going to be fine. What we need to realize is that its going to be tough love and not going to be easy. That doesn't mean that we are going to end up with a good or bad return, it just means that we are going to end up with both of them going up, so there is no need to pick and choose.

I think Bitcoin will never reach 5k again. And I am absolutely sure of it because I believe in technical analysis and judging by the lowest uptrend support the price can not go lower than 10k, let alone 5k. Bitcoin is too famous and valuable, so we have never seen such a sell-off with such low prices.
-
I think Bitcoin will reach $100,000 in a few days and that will be by 2024. So I will say that you fold everything you can with 100% guarantee that Bitcoin will reach 100,000 dollars 100% sure.

When it comes to price predictions then it would really be something that anyone could really be having their own approach and words or simply with their guesses, but the real stuff on here is that no one really be able to know on what would happen ahead. $100k might really be that too near but its not something that will be a smooth sail ride to each up those numbers but at least potential is really there for it to happen. As for prices then ETH or BItcoin or any other coins/tokens in the market then there's no way that we could be able to tell on whose gonna reach that and this.
No one really ever knows because it would really be depending on the market condition and of course with the community that supports it.

I find your lack of belief in $ETH surprising. Anyway, I'm confident that $ETH will reach $5k first.

When many people start to distrust and ignore it, it is a good time to buy.
ETH is the king of altcoins and the price will always follow Bitcoin, I believe ETH can break $5k when Bitcoin already reaches $100k.
It is already in the program, and we as retail investors only need to believe and buy gradually when it is very cheap, don't miss it and don't let FOMO happen when the price is high enough.

Yes, much priority is been given to bitcoin because it’s the only cryptocurrency that has every potential of rising to an inestimable amount just by seeing how it’s behaving in the market. It may be speculative and may not get to that price as predicted, but it has the more tendency to break some boundaries that many of the other cryptocurrencies won’t dare to break. So focusing more on bitcoin price is more likely to become a reality than many of the predicted price of other altcoin. I have no choice and I’m sure that option 1 is the best answer to the poll raised on this topic .
-
I do believe bitcoin will reach first 100k then ethereum 5k, as we are talking about limited supply vs infinite supply , besides that the smart contracts arent anymore a only ethereum feature.
If Trump wins the 100k will be achieved this year, otherwise next year it should achieve, then ethereum will make a moove right after... but Etf might change this cenario as well.

Yes that is it but most times coin like ethereum and some other has already build up their trust and usability where people has seen them to be very strong, where people can't lose their investment just like. For instance litecoin is also trusted coin that has been existing for long now and people are making use it for transaction it's also cheaper but people don't usually mentioned them the way bitcoin are being recognized.

Do we really need Trump to win in order for the price to hit $100k? What if Kamala Harris won, does it mean that 6 digits is not achievable. I would believed that the election in the US might have a big impact on the price, however, regardless of who is going to win, and with the whole 4 year cycle still in effect, I think we can still get to where we all predicting the price will be, and that is in the 6 digit.
We love Trump to win because he is turning to be pro-Bitcoin, and he is leading in the early days of the election. But when Biden steps down and Kamala Harris takes over, it seems that there are reports that Harris has overtaken Trump in the polls. And we all know that her political party is somewhat anti crypto.

If Trump wins the president election, surely it will be easier to hit $100k. There will be a big hype in crypto because people believe in Trump's promise for Bitcoin industry, especially in US. However, I believe Bitcoin can still have a chance to hit $100k although Harris who wins the president election. We know that Bitcoin price doesn't fully rely on the news, there are other factors that can trigger the huge increase in Bitcoin price. According the previous cycle, Bitcoin always could increase very significantly whatever the news is spreading around the world.

Yes when Bitcoin goes to 100K there is a good chance that ETH will go to 5K. Because we saw when Bitcoin went above 70k in March, ETH hit 4K on March 12th. As such we can say with certainty that the moment Bitcoin goes above 100K, ETH will easily cross 5K.
-
Voted yes, simply because Bitcoin usually pumps first, then altcoins afterwards, even if this isn't quite how it worked out in the last bull market.
Also as $5K for ETH is only a few % from ATH, whereas for BTC it'd be around another 35% approximately.
Though that said by % Bitcoin is notably closer to $100K than Ethereum is to $5K...
-
Ethereum is definitely going to reach $5,000 as long as we have bitcoin above $73,000 all time high, i want to believe that with the way we are seeing ethereum performance these days, there is more on ground its having in preparation to be unleashed when the general crypto markets start to rise, to me, i don't expect to see ethereum waiting till bitcoin gets to $100,000 before making its new all time high.
-
Wow, this is going to be an exciting race.
but, if Bitcoin reaches its ATH at $100k, I'm sure ETH will also reach $5k soon. but, usually the soaring price of Bitcoin will affect the price of altcoins, right? including the price of ETH in particular?
but if ETH is $5k, hmm, it's actually a bit difficult, is it possible for ETH to reach $5k when the price of BTC is at $90k? ;D ;D
-
The bottom line is that ETH will not go anywhere if BTC does not have a big bull run, and that is probably clear to everyone, no matter how much some people think that the ETH spot ETF is something that will make a difference. Given that I know what the OP thinks about ETH, he must agree that VB shot his project in both feet when he decided that PoS is better than PoW - and in the last three years ETH has lost even 50% in value.

You know I've been thinking about this, about POS vs POW and the possible relationship with price
ETH didn't keep up well with BTC in ATH and couldn't repeat BTC's ath, even with ETFs
It seems that the support of a whole community of miners made the difference before

Of course the miners made a big contribution to the whole project, just imagine how much money was involved and how important it was to the investors that the project was somehow decentralized (at least in terms of mining). Someone once wrote that now the entire project can be maintained from one basement with a couple of computers (figuratively speaking).
Miners were kicked out of the game and that created a void that apparently no one was able to fill. You build trust for years, and you lose it literally in one day.

I also agree with you
It is not easy to make this analysis due to the lack of possible methods to verify it, but the vast majority thought that the price of ETH would rise a lot with the POS
they thought that miners only dumped ETH and with POS it would become scarcer and more reliable
The opposite happened. There were millions of GPUs and thousands of people mining ETH and it was a community
When I mined ETH I didn't sell it all, I kept a lot of it and many should do the same
When the POS came along, many of those people may have sold their ETH and moved on to other coins, or even BTC
it was incredible how many miners there were in ETH :D
-
@rdluffy, all these decisions are a consequence of the personal attitude of VB who has always wanted to impose himself as someone who will invent something better than Bitcoin, from the idea that he will leave the project (like Satoshi) which never came true, to the fact that people will appreciate ETH more because it became "green coin."
So far, this idea has turned out to be a complete failure, but maybe it will pay off in the long term, given that it should be taken into account that Bitcoin will already be mined to almost 99% at the beginning of the next decade, and that the 1% that will remain for the next 100 + years will not keep too many miners in business.
Will the miners then turn to other (more profitable) projects?

In fact, Ethereum never reached $5k when Bitcoin reached the ATH around $73k in March. So, even if Bitcoin price can return to $73k again, it is very doubtful that Ethereum will be $5k. There should be big pump on Bitcoin price, maybe Ethereum price will be close to $5k if Bitcoin price can be above $90k. I also expect that Ethereum can reach its ATH faster, waiting for $100k of Bitcoin will be too long. We even don't know that Bitcoin really can be $100k or not. However, I'm sure that ETH will reach a new ATH sooner or later.
-
The bottom line is that ETH will not go anywhere if BTC does not have a big bull run, and that is probably clear to everyone, no matter how much some people think that the ETH spot ETF is something that will make a difference.
It is difficult to accept the fact but it is true that Ethereum and most altcoin prices depend on Bitcoin. Especially for Ethereum, the price chart even looks quite similar from time to time. However, the question is "how far Bitcoin should increase to be called as big bullrun"? Should it reach $100k to trigger Ethereum reaching its ATH? Well, ETH spot seems not bring significant impact so far. It may be caused by bad market trend as well.

As soon as BTC is hitting 100k, Eth will also hit 5k with the same period. I might not be able to say which one will hit first as it is less important, but the most important thing is that if the bullrun starts, both of them are going up. But as usual, BTC is the one that moves and drag others along. So, BTC will move and drag Eth along.

Since all altcoins are sensitive to movements in bitcoin, altcoins can be expected to rise after the price of bitcoin increases. After Bitcoin hits 100K, when Bitcoin stabilizes at a price, all altcoins rise in price, and as usual, Ether price may also rise at that time. But if Bitcoin moves towards 90K then we could be able to see a big change in the price of Ether. It could be that altcoins have crossed 5K before Bitcoin hits 100K. One reason for this is that Ether touched 5k in the last bull run and we expect it to cross 10k in the upcoming bull run.

You are correct. But merely looking at the situation, it will appear as if it is fast for Eth to clock 5k. But in the other hand, I know the hype the BTC generates when it starts moving. Within 24hrs, it can make unimaginable moves. Sometimes making people to pay less attention to altcoins, unless people that bought for long time. Everyone will be jumping into the bitcoin bandwagon. The 2021 scenario is still fresh in my memory.

Of course, the ETH has the possibility to go up very fast, and many people think that this is a very good chance. However, once Bitcoin starts trending, its volatility draws attention and quickly rising value can obscure assets such as ETH from investors, particularly novices. A lot of people chase the ‘Bitcoin bubble’ as we witness each time within 4 years or so as many coins fancy the higher side and one might get so enamored with these bitcoins while ignoring other exciting altcoins that have a lot of potential. Thus, it can be seen that the primary focus remains on Bitcoin, but it is equally crucial to pay attention to the potentially interesting altcoins.

Bitcoin no doubt will hit that $100,000 price that's for sure. As for Ethereum, it's ATH was $4,878.26 during the last bull run in 2021. It will reach that price as well... or maybe not. Hmmm, TBH I don't know if Ethereum will be included as one of the altcoins out there that will not surpass it's previous ATH during the 2021 bull run. Well I believe that Ethereum has a huge community to back it up hence, it will reach that price.
Whatever the case is, I agree that both of them will reach the target prices, but will not be at the same time. At the same year of course. :)

I am also confident that Bitcoin to reach $100k. But we don't know it really can happen or not. :D
But for Ethereum, I'm very sure it will hit $5k because it is not so far from its current ATH. Ethereum is still the best altcoin and it remains the favorite altcoin. If you checked its market cap, you should be aware of it. If it still doesn't reach a new ATH, it is just about the time only, it will hit a new ATH very soon.

Same here. I also believe we will see BTC to be $100k and ETH to be $5k. However, we don't know which one to reach the expected price earlier. It is something very difficult to predict.

Doesnt matter on which one would be able to hit those price levels, the thing here is that on what you do hold. If you are holding Bitcoin then you wont really be caring about ETH price and
same goes when you do have ETH but having no Bitcoin, but if you do have both then you wont really be stressing out yourself on which one would be reaching out those peak prices.
This is why it would really be that important that you have accumulated enough specially now that we are heading on a bull run market on which it is really that important
when it comes into this manner on accumulating while prices arent that pumped up yet.

So far, it's funny to see that bitcoin price has made to above 100k but Etherum just reached 4k today, whereas it was last two days that bitcoin reached a new ATH. This shows that bitcoin is worth putting all your funds into and forget about any altcoin, because they don't have the power law of bitcoin which is the exponential price movement.

It's even funnier reading the topic in reverse ;D
But on one thing most agreed till it actually happened, there were no moves from Ethereum and any of the other coins without Bitcoin, it was Bitcoin that needed to make a breakthrough and then maybe take a pause and let funds flow to the alts as they don't think a further push will happen, so probably both will go from round numbers to round numbers, eth breaking 5k, then again sliding back and forth, then Bitcoin pushing to middle 150 while alts on pause, and so on..

Bitcoin attracted all the attention and when other coins are hyping, it seems the developers prefer to be focus on the building than just making empty promises they spread about eth2.0 that turn out to be what people never expected. However, now that Bitcoin seems to be not moving that much, they will soon rush to ethereum so they don't miss the run.
Right now, it's trading a little above $4k and it's only 18% to reach the previous all time high, if they manage to break the ATH, we are going to witness another $10 like the way Bitcoin hit $100k.
