There is this gaming project, GamerHash that have been around since 2017 and focusing on distributed computing and mining and they have also amde it possible to monitise gaming on PC's idle power for thins like AI tasks, 3D renderings and crypto mining, their $GHX tkoen is what they use in performing these tasks and they have their community as well especially in South Korea.
What is your take for someone who wants to explore this scope of web3 gaming, I just want to know if there are things to pay attention to and how I can make my gaming experience better while making some side-bucks from it.

Idle means AFK? There are no game mechanics performed by the player?? It seems like there isn't, unless the game is rigged using bots and the developer allows Real Money Trading. someone can get game resources that can be exchanged for money with other players... if it is something that requires high computing power and the real business is mining where the game is only used as a cover... I'm sure it still requires high computer specifications and not generally accessible...

What is your take for someone who wants to explore this scope of web3 gaming,
There is no web3 and no gaming!
What that thing does is just mining with your computer the same way a nicehash does, and the reward in most cases won't even cover your electricity bill, with the latest i9 and a 4090 you will be able to get barely $30 a month, that counting them running 24/7 which defeats the whole thing of running when idle.
Nobody is going to pay you for doing nothing!

I saw this on their website: LINK (https://gamerhash.com/en/app-download)
- Mine crypto & earn BTC
- Receive GHX as a bonus
- Complete tasks in Play&Earn
This is a better version of Cryptotab then. :D They will use your GPUs to mine Bitcoin, and you will receive their native token as a bonus. For the project not to get behind, they added play-to-earn features, and some popular words right now which are AI, Web3 and Metaverse just so that many will get attractive to try it. For those who will try it, good luck with your GPUs
Just go find some work because this concept that you're saying will not work. Not doing anything, and you will earn? Wake up OP. :)

In my opinion, there are no games that can make money, I haven't found any free games that provide income, but I don't know, maybe I missed it and don't have enough information, I've been playing games since I was a teenager and until now I haven't found a game that can make money online. it's free, especially what you mentioned
-
My opinion is that It will be hard to make a play-to-earn game just by afk unless like mining where you invest money and wait Idle gaming is not considered a game because there are no game mechanics you are just waiting to get paid without doing anything or grinding to get rewards.
-
You already have a platform for your question so why not try it, Besides the name of the platform you provided, I do not know of any, Why not try that one? if you're a real gamer, you can find a way to make money out of it.
The closest web3 gaming platform I got was in, MyDefi Pet and many of us were disappointed because the developers of that platform are just money grabbers, many players did not even make a profit from their investment.

We are always hoping that there can be a way to gain something even if we are just doing nothing or just being idle...but in most cases when we find something claiming to be one we can be disappointed to see that the possible gains will never be worth the time and some effort we are investing. I used to be a part of a "mining" platform even before the tap-to-earn came into limelight now and frankly speaking I did not get anything of real value of the experience. I am still wishing though there can be a program that can offer real opportunity along the do-nothing-and-earn idea...without being scam.

I agree with most takes here, telling the OP that doing nothing, usually, brings nothing. However, I would gladly recommend the author to get into the retrodrops or miniapps on TON chain - not so many good projects there as it's an evolving chain with some good and bad ways to spend some time to gain something out of it, but, at least, it won't cost that much speaking about the GPU power and electricity price bills.

Yeah, it's called social welfare, and it still means someone has to pay it for you! ;D
Unfortunately in a normal economy especially with crypto there is zero chances of achieving this, even airdrops, yes you get free money but that free money must be paid by somebody would would buy your coins, it works when there is demand but how you multiply demand endlessly? Well, we know, you can't!
Getting paid to do nothing means someone must pay for nothing, you got 100% of the world in the first group and nobody willing to be in the second.

That was one of the 2021 hypes, right? Is it still going?

If I understand you correctly, there is something similar on Fairspin. On their platform you play and earn tokens, then you can sell them or staking under a good APY. This is just an example, there may be more such platforms, though in any case this sphere is developing now and will surprise us for a long time to come

It's also worth to mention gamerhash promise less income than nicehash. Here's the result of their calculation
https://gamerhash.com/en/calculator (https://gamerhash.com/en/calculator) shows RTX 4090 can earn $20.33 and 55.68 GHX (about $4.09) per month.
https://www.nicehash.com/profitability-calculator/nvidia-rtx-4090 (https://www.nicehash.com/profitability-calculator/nvidia-rtx-4090) shows RTX 4090 can earn $25.69 per month.

Even social welfare usually require you to do something or meet specific requirement.

Different models of estimations, Gamerhash uses the simple approach of multiplying the daily earnings currently and scale them to a month, Nicehash uses past rewards, in cases of extreme fluctuations from a coin you could get even a 2x differences with those.
While I do think NH would offer in the end a better revenue, unless GH scams you outright there won't be a 20% difference.

Just wondering, how did you find out estimation model for Gamerhash?
While I do think NH would offer in the end a better revenue, unless GH scams you outright there won't be a 20% difference.
That's true. But portion of the revenue is given in form of GHX token, which force people spend more time to spend or exchange it.
