It's almost like every company these days claims to integrate AI into their products, but most of the time it's just a bunch of useless features that don't do anything useful, just like how a lot of CEX claim they have AI powered trading bots these days but they are actually stupid lowkey
Well as I was browsing cointelegraph today, turns out some CEXs are now using AI in the KYC process to detect deepfakes, sorta like fighting AI with AI type shii. Do you guys think this is another gimmick or something actually useful?

Now a revolution is going to come in the future and that is artificial intelligence. Which is already all over the world, and if we see that different countries are using artificial intelligence in CCTV cameras to identify suspects.
And in this case, I don't think it's a bad idea to use artificial intelligence to do deep fake picture forensics. Because the abusing of Deep fake is increasing day by day, and it is causing more problems especially to the KYC required institutions, I think it is not bad to use it to make the operation successful against abusing AI with AI.

It's not gimmick, there are so many news which report AI can detect forged or fake stuff. Although it's tricky to know how useful is it, especially if nobody audit it.

Ai can for sure be used to detect AI-generated images, and of course, it's better than what a human can do, now if we talk about a really good trained model and not some shitty cheap copy with just a few detection patterns.
Our brains work by associating things, we learn by adding data on top of known data, that's why we're so bad at things like generating random numbers or words or even finding differences in text, machines don't use the same steps, they don't have biased based on their own memory so they can be more accurate on those, plus they can have instant access to a ton of already known to be forged documents, a human would need to go through hundred of filters for that.
As long as it's about comparing data AI can do a lot of things better, when it's creativity...it sucks!

Do you know that some companies use AI when selecting job candidates or that they use AI when evaluating employees in state companies or institutions such as schools? In one documentary I watched, both turned out to be a complete failure, because in the first case, the AI selected candidates exclusively by skin color (it discriminated against everyone except whites), and in the second case, the favorite teachers and professors become the worst overnight.
Human stupidity and greed push AI where it simply does not belong, and when it comes to CEXs, nothing personally surprises me, because the goal of their owners is obviously to automate everything to the point that it can be a one-man operation.

The coin telegraph article mentioned how CEX like Bitget are already adopting the tech. I didn't see the efficacy report though!
Why don't you ask your boss for whom you are doing a shill campaign on this forum?

Although I haven't heard of similar developments from Binance, OKX or Bybit, I believe they would also have plans against deepfake.
I remember reading an article about Binance using AI to detect fake logins in the past, pretty sure it has been implemented already[1]. It's not that surprising if an exchange tries to automate everything to reduce manual workload, cheaper workforce, and so on. It's common for KYC purposes you need to pass the live testing mechanism instead of submitting videos/pictures. On the other hand, some news reported that Binance uses AI to generate NFT tokens[2].

Yes, AI can definitely be used to detect fake KYCs. Everything has its opposite. Some users have recently started using AI to obtain fake KYCs, and today exchanges are in the process of counterfeiting by using AI to detect this fraud.
We are moving in the future towards greater interference of artificial intelligence in our lives. It is not bad at all to benefit from AI in some positive aspects that help humans in their work and make it much easier. The only fear is that AI will replace humans.

It's good that platforms are at the forefront of this already. Found this. https://cointelegraph.com/news/bitget-sumsub-deepfake-detection-security. As this is important in keeping users asset secure as they develop new form of safety features/standards

I don't think that any AI can always detect if someone is using fake generated videos to pass kyc verification.
There is also a good chance of getting many false positives and banning customers even if they didn't use anything to bypass registration.
Best solution to avoid this is to use non-kyc and decentralized exchanges, and you don't have to worry about AI nonsense anymore.
