Information arrives at high speed from all sides, it is increasingly difficult to recognize the important one. Additional clutter is created by various aggregators that grab news from several sources, so everything often looks quite crowded.
In addition to some local Telegram groups, I mostly follow cryptopotato.com, somehow they seem to me that they are not only focused on relaying news but most often also give a mini-analysis of the event they are writing about.
Do you have any suggestions for a good and reliable source of timely information? Except for Cointelegraph and Coindesk.

I almost typed these two sources because I often check both of them for several things, especially certain news updates. haha :D
However, the source that is usually more significant is the Telegram channel. But yes, I prefer to go to Telegram Challenge or local social media, because it's easier to understand. For global telegram that I usually follow, for example: ICO Speaks. They have channels and also chat groups. However, however, telecom groups or social media like this are only used for ideas or additional inspiration, but not for any decision in investment or anything else.
-
I mostly get updates on Crypto activities through coinmarketcap, coingecko and coincodex. They are so far reliable and competent with issuing out genuine news. I also really like their analysis as I see it to be much accurate and timely.
I really do not think telegram channels are worth the news because of the activities of scammers and hackers there. When it comes to getting updates on new projects it is best one avoid that platform so as not to be misled to doing the wrong thing which would cause you a big loss.
-
I cannot really think of anything else because most of the portals are just copycats of major crypto news websites. It's chaotic but sometimes I just turn to social media (X and Reddit) because of how fast they can relay you information from various sources.
-
CryptoPanic is still my favorite by far, it has basically everywhere. It can even be customized to a level, not a whole lot and I am sure they will work on that eventually, but it can be done a little bit. It allows me to consider the situation to be a much better. That way, I am aware of everything that is going on, from a lot of news outlets all at the same time from the same place, and also it helps me see all the most trending ones as well. Seeing a news is one thing, seeing how much that news trending is another thing, that way you get to see if people care about it or not as well. Its definitely a superb place.
-
I use twitter for my news.. Although I news from cryptopotato, coindesk, cointelegraph pages at times. But there are more in the twitter space. Lots of KOL with early news and Crypto tracking platform pages like coingecko and Coinmarketcap. So, X is my news portal..
-

I love reading some crypto news everyday to update myself with the many developments in the cryptocurrency industry but I don't have a specific news site which I considered to be favorite or my go-to as I find most of them just on the same level. Sharing information can be a good business and with the cryptocurrency industry getting solid and viable one the competition can be tougher than usual. Here are my usual crypto news platforms where I usually get my news:
https://cryptonews.com
https://azc.news/
https://www.theblock.co
https://news.bitcoin.com
https://decrypt.co
https://cointelegraph.com
https://watcher.guru
https://cointelegraph.com
And with your suggestion, I am then adding cryptopotato.com into my list.
-
Crypto users like cointelegraph because there is a play button where an AI can dead the text for them. I don't see this one from other crypto news sites.
But what I like doing it watching the news on youtube. I liie the channel Bitcon University and for news updates, its Baron Network.

I agree with your opinion here. Most of the websites are just nothing but copy cats that is why most times I do not waste my precious time opening their news feed because what they might be flashing might be what I just likely finished reading on the other platforms I normally get updates from.
Most times they give wrong data, analysis and statistics to readers which is not good, wanting to cover up or portray project in a good way but forgetting that nothing is hidden on the internet these days and that their falsehood will be revealed.
-
I will admit that I don't have a favorite, although I avoid some news portals because for years they were a source of spam on BTT (paid shills), or they promoted projects that tried to seriously harm BTC. I visit Cdesk sometimes, but if I had to choose one news source, this would be it -> https://bitcoinmagazine.com
Besides, for us old coiners, sometimes WO is the best choice of news ;)

Thanks for sharing, never heard of this on before so I bookmarked this one so I can follow events. We do actually have our local cryptocurrency news portal but it focuses on local news I think that is why I sometimes go to coingecko, coinmarketcap, coindesk and cointelegraph.
-
I prefer Telegram, because I immediately get notifications on my smartphone so I can check in real time... sometimes I don't even think about seeing news on the internet, but notifications remind me of times that I wasn't aware of.
You can look at CryptoMiami if you want to see other references, because I've been following CryptoMiami for quite a long time...
link : https://t.me/CryptoMiami
The news presented is not long, and it is just a summary of the important things, so the time to read is sometimes less than 1 minute to consume one piece of news.
-
There is a quote which I find relevant here, "if you don't know what you are looking for, you end up with a lot".
So there are few telegram channels I am joined in which post stuff which I care about, I check'em daily and that's all. This is usually airdrop related stuff.
Joining random news sources which are plenty, yes they may be good, but they overwhelm me, so I stay away from those.
-
Most news content related to cryptocurrencies is duplicated, and it is difficult to find a reliable source, as the rumor passes through all these services without the slightest filter or research to verify the information.
The best source currently is to customize lists on Twitter and then send you updates periodically.

You're welcome ;)
Honestly, I'm mostly interested in news about BTC, and since I like to watch US business TV programs, there are often news about current events, which are usually commented by people who know what they're talking about. News portals often exaggerate (accidentally or on purpose), but this is one of the main ways to attract visitors, and sometimes bad information can negatively affect our judgments - therefore, every piece of information should be checked from several sources.
-
Yes, you are right we all analyze more news from twitter. I follow people who share good information and give good information on twitter. Besides Twitter I also follow Reddit, Medium, Linkedin. However, it is difficult to pinpoint most of the news. But the analysis we do according to the currency is like that. Before doing the penalty analysis, understand everything well and then give an output, I don't know how accurate it will be.
-
I follow people who share good information and give good information on twitter.
How do you even recognize which Twitter accounts provide verified information and are not biased for any reason?
Can you share some as an example?

Seriously, they mostly just repost a thing from one page to another. I don’t also have the most favourite but definitely have top blogs or news portals or even individuals that I follow on Twitter. Also the algorithm of the twitter usually just pops up the latest news related to crypto for me.

Exactly, this is the same thing that I do to get information on bitcoin. I followed some bitcoin new websites on X and some bitcoin enthusiasts to get the latest new, because I have my notification on. Most times, after getting the news, I go to other websites like coindesk or bitcoin magazines to read full update.

IMO if you have been following particular handle for a while you automatically kinda build up reputation from their posts, and can judge whether they are trustable or not.

Exactly, duplicated information full the internet. It was Twitter that was leading the cryptocurrency news channels and follow by Instagram but recently with emergency of airdrops in the crypto community, telegram is on the lead right now. And the news are not too bad from my reading. But I don't have any favorite as well and I read anywhere I see crypto information.

But you really need 1 place that is indeed trusted and updated for the main information, if you only rely on random news portals and news on Twitter we will not necessarily get valid news.
My favorite news portals are https://coinvestasi.com/ and https://www.coindesk.id/
I'm also a very active Twitter user and always get news from Twitter, but I need to check the details of whether a story is valid or not.
then I need to check it at the primary source.
In the telegram community, there are also quite a few updates, news, and some discussions that are quite helpful to know about what is happening in crypto, and many more.

A few years ago I saw a link that someone posted on BTT to that website and I can say that I read an article (https://bitcoinmagazine.com/technical/what-happened-when-bitcoin-creator-satoshi-nakamoto-disappeared) that enlightened me a lot and in which the author put a lot of effort. Since then, I consider it to be one of the better sources of news, although when you look at both forums, you will hardly find their links because most people get their information elsewhere.
I wouldn't mind if the popularity of those sources didn't come from the shill campaigns that were carried out on BTT for a long time.

I see Bitcoin Magazine has been mentioned a few times, I was subbed to it for good time before I realized it was adding nothing useful into my life, so unsubbed it, and I don't miss it.
I don't want to argue with those who do find it useful, just putting my perspective here.

Is there any other news source that "adds something useful to your life"?
I think that you can read very good articles there, but it's not that we can't find them on other news portals as well. It's really all a matter of personal choice, because I personally don't value social networks and have left them completely, considering them a waste of time - but I respect the choice of other people who find them useful.
-
In fact, cryptocurrency has spread rapidly among people, crypto channels have also spread widely among everyone. I am constantly looking at new articles and there is no end to it because every crypto news site has so much news that it is impossible to read all. But everyone in the cryptocurrency space has sites they trust or sites they can trust. I mostly follow Cointelegraph but another site I like is cryptonews.com but it is entirely up to a reader to decide which site they read best. But I will suggest top class sites because fake news is not spread on those sites.

Yes, I am joined to them. If you like I can give you the list, but then again, they might not be of your taste or add useful to your life, so you will leave them : P

Yes, I too find social media waste of time; FB is complete waste, while Twitter is useful to stay updated with projects as every one of them uses it, also CT can be funny at times.

You are right sir. The rate at which news are duplicated online via online news stations and social media handles are very much alarming. The truth is that most of those news are just not correct as there are no verifiable proof on them. This is the reason why I take my time to do my research online when ever I get new updates.
If I want to confirm the originator of a news or an information online, I check the date and time the news was published compared to other news site to see for myself who first published it online. That is how I am able to trace originators of news online if truly they are the real source of the information.
-
There are many news portals available for cryptocurrency news. But now a days Coinmarketcap, Coingetco os best for cryptocurrency new. More news portals are available but i think this portal is very popular for cryptocurrency lovers.
Even https://cryptonews.com, https://azc.news/ also good site for news.
-
Most news portals are similar and most of them take news from each other, so I prefer to take brief news by subscribing to some Telegram channels, and if I find important news, I browse it and try to search further.
I mostly use the cointelegraph bot of cointelegraph.com, where I get brief updates of the most important daily news, and sometimes I read news from https://news.bitcoin.com.
As for analytics, I get them from some Telegram channels in the local language.
-
Cryptopanic has all of these news sources in an aggregator along with the prices and trading graphs of cryptocurrencies, so it's definitely useful.
But I don't have a favorite news source. I mean, it's just news after all. Anyone can say it. And also the majority of the news is getting sourced from X/Twitter anyway, so why not just go there?

Yes, that's right, there are lots of news sources about crypto, so it's actually quite easy to see which news developments we should trust, and now I also see several news stations publishing almost the same content.
Apart from news stations, I usually also follow influencers on X, trusted ones of course. From there I saw a lot of new information, but I still had to dig deeper, or in other words, I didn't swallow the information I got raw.
-
Decrypt and Cointelegraph I have been following these two for a long time because they always publish legit news. And to get instant news, I use Telegram channel because instant notification is available here and then if I need to read something in detail, I go to Decrypt and Cointelegraph and read big articles. There are many news publishers sites on the internet but many sites post fake articles with catchy titles and thumbnails to increase traffic to their sites so I don't follow other sites.
-
One of the media outlets I'm relying on for news is bitcoinist (https://bitcoinist.com/). They have new articles almost every hour, covering many industries within Cryptocurrency; they also have a dedicated telegram channel where they post their new articles after publishing them.
Of course, I also subscribe to popular news outlets like Cointelegraph, they are the industry leader.

Just like me, Social Media X or Twitter is what I visit most often to get updated information about cryptocurrencies, sometimes also from Telegram channels too. Actually it's the same, because every time there is something new about something that happens in cryptocurrency it will definitely be updated by many media. Be it coindesk, cointelegraph, Coinmarketcap, medium, Twitter, LinkedIn and others

Twitter social media does have the most Cryptocurrency users because there are no restrictions on anyone being able to access Twitter. I use Telegram to look for information about Airdrop, while I use Twitter to look for more accurate information about existing Cryptocurrency projects. At least we know that there are many platforms that provide Cryptocurrency information. What we need to do is try to stay active and learn more about Cryptocurrency to make more profits for ourselves.

I think X(twitter) is somewhat reliable as a result of the availability of replies option. Of a project is a scam, from the response and replies of other people as a result of their encounter with the project, you would have to use wisdom to do the needful by taking caution. I have encountered projects on the platform where I read replies and comments about the project. That would give you guidelines based on the response and replies of peoples experience with them. Other news platform which share Crypto information is okay but the no availability of response and comments session is what I do not find comfortable. Though I read them but I also do my research.
-
Do you have any suggestions for a good and reliable source of timely information? Except for Cointelegraph and Coindesk.
I don't follow Cointelegraph anymore and I use Coindesk whenever some member posts news from that site on this forum and I have to check the source for full news. I prefer to get news from Telegram, because its way faster. I don't have any one group, as I have joined more than 10 which brings different type of news.
For example, one group mostly talk about wars ongoing in this world as they also influence market, another one is for whales tracking, and another one for letting me know what is ongoing in the crypto world etc. etc. All of these groups gives me a lot of information, Like daily scan, they also tell us a person lost this much funds today due to that scam. Its really helpful to remain up to date of the situation. As knowledge is power and we all should get our hands on it. Some links (not sponsoring)

This tbh; I like to use platforms which allow user responses, differing view points from different personalities gives you overall a better perspective on topic being discussed.
Forums, Twitter and Reddit are my favorite platforms to look for information solely due to this factor.

Actually, this feature is one of the requirements I check for on social media or news platforms that shares information about projects and happenings. It keeps one abreast and updated with information and ideas of members about the project under discussion. Not only that, it gives room for people to share their encounter and experiences they have with the project while engaging with them.
As you have also opined, twitter and Reddit are quite alright and reach in information when it comes to crypto currency and blockchain because they are a global platform and everyone organisation and individuals would definitely have their presence on the platform compared to other news platforms. Not only that, the idea of replies and comment session enables interaction amongst members and calls for logical thinking and criticism.

Especially for Twitter, if we want to use Twitter to do Airdrop, then we have to be careful. Because a lot of Twitter has been suspended because it's too active, spam or something, I don't know. But what is certain is that I think it is very easy to get cryptocurrency information from Twitter, apart from Twitter, it is easy to use and most of the big cryptocurrency platforms often provide information about crypto updates on their Twitter social media.
-
I don't collect crypto news from this medium as i follow coinmarketcap and coingecko sites more and are most active. In my opinion they are still good at publishing reliable real news in current times. Moreover i refrain from social channels because there is a lot of scamming. Twitter, Telegram, Facebook are gone for me now because of the activities of scammers and hackers. Moreover if you follow the updates of the best exchanges like binance, kucoin, then there will be correct and profit potential.

Vitalik was very active in Bitcoinmagazine during 2013 and 2014 when and when Ethereum was already on his mind in 2013, perhaps his focus became divided in two...so the articles posted in 2014 seemed to decrease... as far as I know his last article was in 2023 last year, which is also a sign that he is no longer very active as a writer there. That's because perhaps his focus is more on Ethereum, while Bitcoinmagazine is no longer his priority. :(
BTW... Bitcoinmagazine has become one of my favorite website portals in the last few months.
