Title: Will BTC be replaced by a new one someday?
Post by: bayu7adi on June 20, 2024, 07:09:03 AM
We see a major event in the form of a transition from the ancient era to the modern era...it is also a challenge in itself for any company or platform to be able to survive following the development of the era....

Including Bitcoin... will one day we leave Bitcoin too and remember it as history?? Bitcoin is only 15 years old, very young compared to gold... According to some researchers, gold was first discovered in 2450 BC, meaning that until now the age of gold is 4473 years...

Is Bitcoin able to survive like gold??? Or will it soon be replaced with a new one?

Well, who can't tell really. IMO, it will be unlikely, considering Bitcoin has the strongest network security that is unlikely to change considering how many prefer PoS or something similar nowadays. Not to mention being the first crypto will always make Bitcoin look more valuable, with its scarce supply, etc. A new coin would need to offer more or less the same thing, and with how crowded the space is, that seems unlikely. Even if it no longer holds the 1st spot on market cap websites, no one would throw Bitcoin away if the network is still running properly.

Nothing is eternal in this world, it is possible that bitcoin will also be replaced in the future if there are bitcoin competitors that are better than bitcoin.  But for now, Bitcoin is still the best crypto.
We see that gold is also starting to be abandoned by the younger generation as an investment vehicle, they are turning to crypto.

It's a good question, I think BTC can't survive like gold as I think it was an experiment that got successful. As people are adopting it it indicates its success. I can say for sure that until the last satoshi will not be mine till then BTC will survive after that I don't know how things are going to work for miner and for regular BTC transaction maker. As after last halving, the only source for a miner to earn money would be via TX fee and we know that they can't make living with $30 fee even.

And People can't afford to pay $100 or $200 fee for the tx. I don't know if the tx would go that high but still, I think till then we won't be able to see what will happens to ti, as an average human can't live that long. Gold existed this long because of its physical existence and governments wants to keep its existence, if governments would want to keep the exisance of BTC then it will survive otherwise not.

We do not know what will happen in the future. But I think that BTC has already set its foundation. You do not get to see a lot of assets to get etf and supported by various big financial companies and countries. If ever it will be replaced, no one knows when. But here is the thing, that discussion has been on going since long time ago.

Nobody knows. But FWIW, USDT used to exist on Bitcoin blockchain (with help of OmniLayer protocol), but ultimately killed by Tether few years ago. So i expect other usage of Bitcoin will become less popular over time.

We might know what will happen in the future but we know the kind of ground that bitcoin is holding so it will be a very difficult situation for replacement and despite all kinds of altcoins popping up bitcoin will still be their king,  and the beginning of cryptocurrency started with bitcoin i don't see anything changing that. We should just focus our minds on bitcoin tested and trusted and the market cap of bitcoin alone is enough to convince anyone that people actually loves bitcoin.

That was Tether's choice though, they had all the cards in their hands.

Honestly it doesn't look like Bitcoin is going anywhere anytime soon. It is the most disruptive cryptocurrency, more so than coins with fast development like Ethereum.

It will survive like gold and it is digital gold. I don't think it will be replaced ever unless the world stops and just resets but it's going to be here. It's better to have modern technology continue its course and I think it will still revolve in this.

be replaced in terms of what? marketcap, decentralization, trading volumes, number of transactions per second, cheaper fees,  faster confirmations, technical development, price?
Bitcoin can be replaced in any of the previous pairs individually, where a currency can have a limited number and a price of 80k, or it can be replaced in terms of market capacity, or in terms of cheaper fees, or faster confirmations, but from all these aspects, Bitcoin will inevitably remain number 1.

I don't really sure has any replacement of bitcoin one day later with new kinds of cryptocurrency or other platform with digital payment transaction feature. Since launching almost 15 years ago, bitcoin keep existing and make many people interested to make their investment assets until bigger companies adopting bitcoin for payment transaction.
Faced many drama banned from top country but bitcoin keep become more excited investment way by investor and right now billion people have invested in bitcoin.
In short time, I don't sure any kinds will replace bitcoin has good position as payment transaction way and investment assets maybe until ten or twenty years later.

I do not think that Bitcoin can live as long as gold, especially in light of the fact that governments do not want to adopt Bitcoin. Governments from ancient times adopted gold and kept it, and therefore gold has a long lifespan until now. If governments had not accepted gold, I don't think it would have lasted this long.

As for Bitcoin, I think that its chances of survival decrease with the passage of time. It is true that it becomes more valuable with the passage of time, but let us not forget that there will come a day when Bitcoin mining ends and the rewards end, and thus the network will become dependent on fees. At that time, we do not know what will happen. If the fees are few, miners will not continue to work, and if the fees are high, people will leave for a cheaper network.

I don't know why people keep comparing Bitcoin to gold, because the only thing they share is that both assets can be a store of value. People have been using gold for thousands of years, and today it is widely used not only as an investment, but gold can also be found in jewelry, making electronics, and decorating furniture.

In addition, gold exists and will exist regardless of the internet, wars, crises, while Bitcoin has a very sensitive infrastructure that can collapse at any time.

As for some new cryptocurrency that will replace BTC - what exactly should it be? We have tens of thousands of cryptocurrencies that have tried to do exactly that and none of them have succeeded - Bitcoin is unique because it has a unique model that cannot be copied.

I think it can be copied/forked  but they won't work.

I thinm world cannot have 2 safe PoW coins that will work as a world currency. The idea of pow is to have a big hashrate, só just copying its model won't work.

It's takes a lot of time to build a project that people loves as a favorite and a lot of hard work has been done and continued, so I don't know how a project will come and replace Bitcoin. Ethereum use to be hype about been the next Bitcoin but despite been proof of work before they change to proof of stake, they never comes to half the market cap of Bitcoin, they never have not achieved half mile the price Bitcoin has done and despite been like by Bitcoin community, it's the most love altcoin after Bitcoin. Which altcoin will exactly gain interest like Ethereum not to even talk about Bitcoin best short.

Well as we all know that change is the only constant then new and improved  ideas will always come out we just don't know when. Maybe it will take time for the new one to fully replace Bitcoin if ever there's really one that will stand out. But right now I don't think so since Bitcoin is getting stronger and still bullish for me.

The main thing is that none of us can tell the future, and given the algorithm that Bitcoin's protocol is made of, it will be over 100 years before Bitcoin mining ends, so I don't think we'll see a replacement for Bitcoin in that time. But again I say no one knows about the future and cryptocurrency is more unpredictable but Bitcoin has not come to leave this field so easily.

This has been argued many times so far, and we can't really say anything for certain. I mean if we are talking about 600 years from now, then looking at the human capacity for evolving, then we could say that it is guaranteed that there will be something better than bitcoin one day, there is no doubt about that. But I assume that we are talking about our life time, and I feel like it would be possible, but not certain. We could probably see some changes, which is why I do not put %100 of my money in bitcoin, well right now it is but if I ever have a lot once again one day, then I would not, and make sure I leave some room for something new in the future.

Ah, this is a bit difficult to say, because no one knows what the future holds.
And what does that mean is that it will be replaced by other cryptos or other technologies?

If it's crypto, I'm still very sure that there will be no other crypto that can replace Bitcoin as the number 1, even though Ethereum is changing it clearly.

But if that means being replaced by another technology product that will appear in the future, I don't know. Because we don't know whether this product is a real competitor or just hype. this is what often happens.

There have been many experiments with internet money, but only BTC has been truly successful and has survived to this day. I can't think of any possibility that BTC will be replaced by a more efficient, decentralized, or transparent financial product. Of course, CBDC is never the solution we want.

BTC will remain the crypto king for many years to come. I can't live another 100 years to see what might happen, so I'm just focusing on the present. I hope that in the future ETH can surpass BTC in terms of trading volume and asset value turnover because Ethereum and its smart contracts can actually be used for many purposes in the economy.

When you are the prime mover, it's really hard to see that someday you are going to be replaced. Although there are tech giants that we might compare like Nokia and Blackberry, as Nokia at one point holds 50% of the market share in the early 2000-2010 but suddenly lost it's traction because of competition and their failure to adapt to the new and emerging trend and now they have exited and been absorbed by Microsoft.

But with Bitcoin though, as per marketcap, almost at 50%. But the thing is that it has as stronghold on that position, and all other altcoins are based their trading pairs to BTC. And even if there are no improvements, well you can call LN and other layering two solutions, but still nothing big has change throughout the years and even we have seen forks after forks in 2017-2018, still Bitcoin is the dominant crypto so I highly doubt that it will be replace at the top of the food chain.

A copy is always just a copy, and besides, every BTC fork is centralized and completely opposite to the idea that Satoshi had. I think that today we have over 100 BTC forks, and most of them are completely dead, and the few that can still be found survive because of the huge amount of money invested in them.

In addition, the world is not yet ready for any decentralized cryptocurrency, and everything else that may appear only confuses those people who are already confused with the very concept on which Bitcoin rests. People want a "dumb solution" in the sense of bank account -> plastic card -> PIN and anything more than that is an unnecessary complication for them.

It is not easy to know what will be the future of Bitcoin but one can share their own views about which there is no guarantee that they will be accurate or not. Gold is an ancient asset and is still successful while Bitcoin is not so old like that of bitcoin but many people are accepting it due to trust in it and its efficient growth.

As gold is not replaced by another opportunity so Bitcoin will also be not replaced with another opportunity if its success remains the same as it is today. Numerous opportunities arise and most of them are successful but one cannot replace the previous one because everything has its own value which increases as time goes on.

Gold is wher it is today because the govern fuel and control it, that's what you get for been centralized, just imagine an asset of many decades is worth $2330, don't you think in the next 30years Bitcoin will be worth 10 times the original value of what it's been traded today, this is what decentralized demands bring to the people.

If Elon could change the rating of th world richest leaders, Gold is just taking its time because the interest as store of value will definitely be replace by it's market cap and more money supply will even slow down the growth of Gold by price.

Gold was not the only representation of money, but the properties of gold were what made it suitable as money. If large quantities of gold were found, or a metal with a similar rarity scale and better properties than gold was found, it would inevitably be replaced.

No one can be sure, but it won't be easy to get rid of because of how the blockchain works.
The Bitcoin protocol is designed to be immutable, decentralized, and sustainable.
So, as long as there is an internet connection, no entity can shut it down, and Bitcoin can last forever.
However, if users and investors lose faith in Bitcoin, its value could go to 0.

Bitcoin's greatest weakness may be its greatest strength.

You are 100% right.

Who thinks about investing in something for 600 years?

Even countries doesn't plan so long. I think 50-80 years is the most long term investment possible. Beyond that , EVERYTHING  can change  , mostly because everyone who is Alive today will be dead 100 years from now.

I doubt if bitcoin can live up to a hundred years not to think of a thousand years and beyond.

Bitcoin has a limited supply of 21 million. What happens if the last bitcoin is mined? How do the miners continue with the little gas fees charged for their survival and also make the bitcoin network strong and reliable? These are questions one should think about before we think of bitcoin lasting long like gold.

Or maybe sooner, 100 years will only be achieved by certain people. A long-term investment of 50-80 years will be a lifetime investment and more precisely it will be a legacy that will be passed on to our successors.

Somehow bitcoin will evolve in those times and perhaps the technology will get more sophisticated.
and about Bitcoin substitution or a coin that equals it, there may be one, but I think Bitcoin will stay on top and bitcoin will be at the center of all the altcoins that come up.

be replaced in terms of what? marketcap, decentralization, trading volumes, number of transactions per second, cheaper fees,  faster confirmations, technical development, price?
Bitcoin can be replaced in any of the previous pairs individually, where a currency can have a limited number and a price of 80k, or it can be replaced in terms of market capacity, or in terms of cheaper fees, or faster confirmations, but from all these aspects, Bitcoin will inevitably remain number 1.
Seeing something is no longer used, that means it has been replaced in general... nothing is 100% similar to Bitcoin, but seeing BlackBerry abandoned, Kodak that is no longer popular, or Nokia that has lost its glory days... that means they have replaceable even though there is nothing 100% similar to it... when times are always changing dynamically, there are always other alternatives that are more innovative and definitely not the same as the old ones.

So in terms of what I'm asking is not one of the things you mentioned... basically my question is like how long can Bitcoin survive that's all... of course this will have different answers depending on each individual.   ;D ;D

The problem with the idea of Bitcoin treated as a payment method is it's fluctuating fees which is annoying and will cause some delay to transactions just like what we have in the previous months wherein the fee itself reaches more or less $200. For me Bitcoin is best for long term investment but for payment purposes I don't think so unless devs will fix things up.

In my view, Bitcoin is the digital gold and since gold will never be replaced so Bitcoin will also stay. There will always be possible heirs to the throne but they will never be able to be equal with the King of All Cryptos. Sure, we don't know what can happen but if gold will be our standard then I am confident that Bitcoin will be here for a long, long time. The rise of Bitcoin is quite phenomenal and it has had been declared to be DEAD a lot of times and so far Bitcoin “has died” 476 times since 2010 and yet it is already much alive today and is gaining a lot of momentum with the recent approval of ETFs for it. Of course, there will be ups and downs as should be expected for a very volatile asset and that is where the excitement can be. Bitcoin is not perfect and it is not a big success as a payment network but as far as being an asset BTC is already an accepted commodity just like, as what I said, gold. In the next few years, there would be more developments that will catapult Bitcoin higher in the global marketplace making it more solid and strong.

I am not a god who can see the future for the next few years, but one thing I am sure of is that Bitcoin will continue to survive, as long as there are people who transact with Bitcoin, Bitcoin will continue to exist forever.

bitcoin dies = impossible
Bitcoin shifted = impossible
bitcoin going to zero = impossible

We can only speculate here, and the truth of our current speculations will only be discovered in the future. But what is clear is that we are speculating about what we see now. So in my opinion this is not something that is certain.

Talking about speculation, I agree with you. Bitcoin holders when Bitcoin was first launched, they only speculated to hold it until it lasted until the price of Bitcoin was this expensive. It was an intelligent speculation and a person who had great luck. Because at that time many people doubted bitcoin.

Is Bitcoin able to survive like gold??? Or will it soon be replaced with a new one?

Bro what are you talking about, you are a well-experienced member, and I think you should know the answer, I'm not a toxic fan but in this case buddy i think BTC is now unbeatable, there's no potential succor for the top spot except for BTC, If you think the ETH and due to its mighty ecosystem still it lack many things like the reliability factor.

So in simple and few words dont you think there's any match in popularity and acceptability for Bitcoin? BTC is not a king it's a giant just look at the market dominance level.

Gold prices are gradually increasing but there is a surety that an increase will take place while the fluctuations in the price of Bitcoin are so high that one cannot predict what will happen in future with the existence of Bitcoin. I know that the price of Bitcoin will increase in much better speed as compared to the gold but I think we should focus on surety of existence.

I don't think that a speedy increase of bitcoin will ever eliminate the use of gold because it is used as from history and is going with great success therefore no matter how high the price of Bitcoin goes, the use of gold has its own place and value.

I always keep an open mind because of exposure and experience, and it is possible that bitcoins survives and it is also possible that by then, it will not be the most trending thing to invest in because as time goes on there will be more opportunities for investments to everyone.

Bitcoin may be replaced, but it I'll not be scraped out.

It is possible as long as there is internet in the world.
Bitcoin is the main crypto coin, it can survive as the king of crypto coin. So far there is no other coins that have the capability as Bitcoin. Even Ethereum is not the same as Bitcoin. So, I can assume that Bitcoin is irreplaceable and will stay as the main crypto coin forever. Bitcoin is the only coin that Satoshi ever made. This is also one of the factors that make Bitcoin be very special.  :)

For me, I believe Bitcoin's position is unshakeable and can never be replaced. Its longevity and widespread support have cemented its role in the financial world. As the pioneer of cryptocurrency, Bitcoin is likely to remain a key player in the future of money and has the potential to revolutionize numerous payment methods.
The problem with the idea of Bitcoin treated as a payment method is it's fluctuating fees which is annoying and will cause some delay to transactions just like what we have in the previous months wherein the fee itself reaches more or less $200. For me Bitcoin is best for long term investment but for payment purposes I don't think so unless devs will fix things up.

the fee issue is why I think btc could fail down the road.

scrypt has 12x the capacity as btc

doge never runs out of reward yet has an endless shrinking inflation rate.

I would consider the ltc/doge scyrpt mining algo to have a shot at knocking off btc in 30 years time.

Nobody knows. But FWIW, USDT used to exist on Bitcoin blockchain (with help of OmniLayer protocol), but ultimately killed by Tether few years ago. So i expect other usage of Bitcoin will become less popular over time.
That was Tether's choice though, they had all the cards in their hands.

Honestly it doesn't look like Bitcoin is going anywhere anytime soon. It is the most disruptive cryptocurrency, more so than coins with fast development like Ethereum.

That's true, but Tether claim they did that due to low USDT usage on Bitcoin blockchain. And people prefer to use it on altcoin due to lower TX fee.

If we go back to the past, did we ever think that we would know bitcoin or that bitcoin would be born? I personally didn't think like that before I got to know bitcoin. And this may apply to something that will come in the future.

Well, this also cannot be separated from luck for those who believed in Bitcoin at the beginning, because with many people doubting Bitcoin at that time and even saying bad things, they still believed in it and brought them huge profits.

Let's be realistic now, when there is something at the beginning that we have never even known about before, will we easily believe it? I do not think so. But now I am very lucky to be part of this community.

There are more than 14 thousand coins in the cryptocurrency space so far but none of them have surpassed Bitcoin. As technology improves there are new coins being added in the crypto market but Bitcoin has retained its top position and will remain strong. Bitcoin has only been around for 15 years and its price has risen significantly in that time. In the coming days, the price of Bitcoin will increase significantly and every satoshi will be worth it. Bitcoin's journey relative to gold has only just begun. Modern people love digital currency than physical currency. Moreover, Bitcoin has become such an asset that people are hoarding Bitcoin over other assets. New technologies may emerge, but no replacement will ever be able to take Bitcoin's place. Because whatever technology comes will be centralized, Bitcoin is decentralized so there is no possibility of its replacement very soon.

We have been reading this kind of question for how many years now from other forum(BTT) and we keep reading answers like

- There is never be an assurance ..

- Bitcoin Will be here forever .

- Yeah it will be replaced in the future.

those are the common answers we have read for years now but do we really mean that?

While others know that this is a digital gold (bitcoin) but assuring everyone that it can stay forever is never been a certain thing  and not being replaced? Gold is upto  now is on top  against silber and bronz like bitcoin against ethereum than ethereum and other coins .
If we go back to the past, did we ever think that we would know bitcoin or that bitcoin would be born? I personally didn't think like that before I got to know bitcoin. And this may apply to something that will come in the future.
that is too far from comparing mate because what you pointed here is that replacement and not creation so that is not the same manner here.

but replacement for me will never come to reality because this will neve replaced instead there will be another coin that will popularized but not to kill bitcoin.

Quote

lets pray that bitcoin will never replaced .

There have been many side developments for BTC lately. An example is the Lightning Network for BTC payments. I believe there will be more solutions addressing fee issues and transaction delays over time, as we are now seeing decentralized Layer 2 solutions for Bitcoin via Ordinals and Runes. As the space evolves, we can expect further improvements addressing transaction fees and processing times. These advancements along with future innovations, are likely to enhance Bitcoin's utility and efficiency also.

Every alt coin ever is built and inspired by foundations laid by Bitcoin. Each is an attempt to dethrone the king. However many altcoins there are, that's how many attempts Bitcoin has tried to be replaced.

For sure Bitcoin paved the way for all alts to also come in even including the avalanche of memecoins that we are experiencing right now. Now, I don't believe that all alts are built to replace Bitcoin as most of them got some unique features of their own and they want to co-exist with Bitcoin in a mutual relationship. While Bitcoin is the King, all of these alts are the minions and they are all working together to make our cryptocurrency experience merry, bright and hopefully very rich. In terms of value - just like the real gold - Bitcoin is now an irreplaceable asset and this can be true for so many years to come as this digital asset is now elevated to a new level courtesy of Wall Street via the approved ETFs.

To create a new token or project is currently quite easy, but to build an ecosystem and community is very difficult. It takes a lot of money to provide full support for this new project. They also have to prove that the newly developed project has very high demand. There have been too many different kinds of altcoins created and there is a lot of money circulating there, but only a few altcoins are still able to have quite high demand in the market.

Yes, that's right, if you just create tokens or projects it's easier, especially now that many networks such as Binance Smart Chain and Solana provide that. Sustainability of the project is the main goal, where lots of materials are needed so that demand will increase. And this is the most difficult task for team promotion.

I believe that the decentralised nature of Bitcoin is the major reason it survive till this very day, once the government start implementing task on any currency other than decentralised one, is t is likely to fail fade off after a while.

If you are talking about another innovation or technology being able to replace bitcoin, I will say no, and this is because bitcoin itself haven't replaced gold, even though many see and tag bitcoin as a digital gold, it still has not and may likely never replace gold, and the possible reason may be because gold is a natural resources, things that are related to nature can't be easily replaced by things created by man, think about it, both bitcoin and gold will continue to co-exist together.

But on the other hand, if you are talking about another cryptocurrency replacing bitcoin, I did say it's not going to be easy but it's still possible, and if this can ever happen, it may take several generations from now.
It's impotant for us to know that nothing created by man is indispensable, or irreplaceable, if someone will develop a better cryptocurrency in the future, and manage to gain the kind of support bitcoin has, that crypto currency may like climb to take over bitcoin's place in terms of market cap.

I don't know how long it took to create the same technology as Bitcoin and be able to compete with it.
There are many who claim that coins in the past were better than Bitcoin such as BCH and coins that were even created from the Bitcoin fork.

Claims are just claims, but until now they have not been able to match Bitcoin, even side by side is not possible.

Bitcoin remains the king of the cryptospace and there is no one to replace it, becoming the coin with the largest market capitalization so that Bitcoin affects everything that happens in crypto.

Let us get this clear, gold is a valuable natural resources While Bitcoin is a developed technology surrounded with valuables.

They are all good for asset holding but comparing which one may stay longer, they gold may actually do simply because it is being controlled by an authority by which governments to governments can always get connected on how they can control and utilize it. As nature resources it may stand to be, ideally no one can crash it or wipe it out of the surface from existence but those not mean it holds the highest values.

If Bitcoin maintains it stance, the value of Bitcoin will sure surpass that of gold despites how tender it is to gold.
Why it is a bit feared that Bitcoin might go on extinction is that fact that many authorities are biased to it due to its nature of decentralizations.

But let us be realistic, ask yourself, are you comfortable with the way that the governments and its authorities has a final decision making over your personal assets or net worth?
Thinking of this, then you Will always find Bitcoin technology to be far advanced to gold.

In terms of altcoins replacing Bitcoin I don't think that would be possible because at first we should consider what altcoins is on Bitcoin because actually it was through Bitcoin other coins came to an existence which means that Bitcoin is the hearts of every other cryptocurrency so if perhaps the price of Bitcoin will always play a vital role on the price of every other altcoins what are the possibility of any of them replacing Bitcoin?.

Though I'm not of the opinion that other cryptocurrency does not have good potential but compare to Bitcoin they are actually nothing because Bitcoin is the most trusted coin among every other coin so only this factor makes people to develop so much interest on it because they believe that no matter the price fluctuations and consolidation it will always move to the targeted direction unlike other coins that we cannot really no how the future will be in as much as they could be doing very well now.

Bitcoin has a use case in our modern generation; as long as it has a use case, it will continue to have value. We don't know if one day it will become obsolete or if something better will replace it. Bitcoin needs support from equipment and the internet, take out that support and it will become obsolete but as long as we have these two in this generation and generation to come we will continue to enjoy Bitcoin.

The future is unpredictable but we wouldn't know if this could come to reality, monetary system is only replaced if the new one is more valued, accessible and problem made easy more than the old system if these aforementioned are not present in the new one, people will continue with the old system and allow the new one ro die a natural death, for now no coin or currency has improved to the extent of replacing bitcoin, so i dont see this stuff happening, Bitcoin reamins the most valued and  trusted digital investment, the more any coin try to imitate it, the more it goes beyond developers comprehension, in conclusion, the future is bright for Bitcoin, what is needed is the consistent core upgrade which has been taking place, as for the replacement, that's not visible for now.

Bitcoin can never be replaced by any currency neither will any of these coin take over bitcoin, the only that could affect bitcoin is power and without power in most of the countries it could be hard to use the bitcoin unlike gold that doesn't need power rather you can have them physically as property that is only place and area I think gold has advantage over bitcoin. But one thing for sure is that bitcoin is a digital currency just like similar to gold or do I say is a digital gold?

Even Bitcoin is still 15 years old today, and it is still quite early, and the development of bitcoin is not yet maximized enough.
Bitcoin will also be mined in 2140 and is still less than 116 years away.

So to replace bitcoin is still unthinkable for now.
Bitcoin is still at the top, still the parent of all crypto coins.
Satoshi created Bitcoin very well and is indeed prepared for the future.

Nothing lasts forever, and what will happen in the future can only be predicted without being able to know exactly.
Bitcoin can survive like gold maybe when what is a concern about Bitcoin can be fixed, such as network fees that are sometimes too high or about the price that is too volatile so that people start to think this is too risky in the future. Whereas Bitcoin being replaced with something else is more wide open when a better technology emerges, but we won't know what that looks like until it does.

The fact that “one day” was used in the title makes it a bit tricky - one day might means 10,000 years from today and I’m sure by that time technology might have advanced to a higher level and new discoveries might have been made and with that in mind I see the possibility of it being replaced.

Remember that there were other things that were invented (not financially related) that we thought were groundbreaking discoveries and would never fade away but yet they are no where to be found and the same possibility is opened for bitcoin is we allow the anti-bitcoiners to keep dominating and sowing fuds in the heart of those that are yet to become a part of the ecosystem.

I actually use the word "one day" as a measure of how long Bitcoin will last to face other new technologies that could come from altcoins, or perhaps as you say, from anti-bitcoiners who will actually make a replacement for Bitcoin in the future start to move. Indeed, no one knows anything that can divert someone's enjoyment of Bitcoin, but what is certain is that any sector can threaten the existence of Bitcoin, even though it is not a cryptocurrency.

Absolutely. So we need Plan B, More marketing. Trust is key. Plan B is the future we need :)
Let's see how far this mindset will bring us

The emergence of Bitcoin is because people’s trust in traditional financial institutions and governments has declined, and systematic distrust is the core disease of our generation.
Bitcoin brings hope and connection to reality by finding a decentralized, transparent,  and secure way of trading.
So Bitcoin is not just about innovation but more than that, we need Bitcoin.

So far, I also don't see a chance of another coin to replace Bitcoin. It is not only about the power of Bitcoin but it is also about the role of Bitcoin and its historical side. There is no other crypto coins which have the similarity as Bitcoin, even Ethereum is quite different with Bitcoin. Sincerely speaking this debate about bitcoin possible replacement due to technological development and modern needs, although there is no development that doesn't follow a pattern and I am sure bitcoin will exist longer than expected so let not over burden ourselves with the belief that one day bitcoin will seize t9 exist or go replaced by another development.

Just like gold bitcoin will become a trance generational digital currency although there may be upgrades in the future but it won't be a total replacement of bitcoin and for sure we expect whatever comes along wit that bitcoin is a digital gold and for that we have long term assurance.

Bitcoin's algorithm is very complex.  In simple words, the higher the mining of this Bitcoin and the higher the number of miners, the higher the mining difficulty.  As it is now Bitcoin mining can be done by laptop CPU in previous times but now mining with GPU is not profitable. It would have been easy. Bitcoin mining is not going to end so easily, so no one is creating a replacement for Bitcoin so easily. And besides, Bitcoin is what I call digital gold, so I guess it didn't come into this field to lose easily.
Even then no one can tell the future, it may be that a better technology than Bit Coin will come to the market where the problem of transaction congestion will not exist. But I don't think it will happen in the next hundred years.

Whether or not bitcoin will survive like gold, in my opinion, depends on the level of public trust/use, and the level of adoption, whether it is accepted or continues to be blocked by the government as it is now, because society is looking for a level of security where every investment is prioritized and clarity of recognition from the government itself.

Bitcoin will survive like gold,  Aaron; everything goes up and down. It is expected. We have seen this in gold, too. The price of gold has gone up and down in the past. The cost of Bitcoin is also lower and higher and will continue to be. But its position is getting better and will get better ahead. Bitcoin is a permanent coin; in the near future, it will become a government-recognized coin, then it will become permanent like gold.

Gold have been longer investment assets by many people before bitcoin launching last several years ago, but comparison profitable earn more faster when investing in bitcoin than gold. I don't sure gold will replace bitcoin one day later because gold have been early already for investment assets than bitcoin and its difficult with some new kinds investment can replacing bitcoin.
Until right now not any new kinds of digital payment currency or investment way can't replacing well for bitcoin as investment assets or digital currency transaction.

Gold is a natural resource that we do have or could be found in earth and we do know its value on which you could really be able to tell into yourself that it would really be that hard for it to be that replaced but something that do talks about Bitcoin then we do know that this isnt something that could be hold up or touch or simply its just that been composed of codes
but somehow in speaking about its features and utility then it is something that hard to believe that it would be replaced by something new someday.
Somehow there's no way that we could predict on what the future looks like but at least we are really that trying out to make ourselves that getting prepared on whatever
things that could happen in the future years to come.

Your explanation is a proof already that bitcoin can't be replaced today and we know that many crypto based their prices on bitcoin's price movement. I also believe the other that nothing lasts forever but I don't think we wil be there until it's end, even the 116 years isn't a short time to wait.
It will be a very long time and those of us who comment now do not exist in that age, only our children and grandchildren will know about it.
But I believe that Bitcoin will grow rapidly after all the Bitcoins are mined, and by then it has entered a more modern and more sophisticated era.

Imagining the future of Bitcoin as a crypto digital currency that cannot be replaced by any coin.
Of course, there will be more new coins that will emerge and claim that they can surpass bitcoin and all its aspects.

I hope that will make it a reality... yes even though sometimes I think that Bitcoin can die like others, because I know Bitcoin is still quite new, I hope it can survive much longer.
Even if it doesn't become something bigger, I still have hope that Bitcoin becomes the reason something becomes bigger and impacts the world.

If the demand for Bitcoin remains higher then Bitcoin will not die but if demands reduce and people move towards another technology then the value of Bitcoin will remain lower which will not be profitable for most of the investors hence its use will be reduced.

Bitcoin is successful because of the huge acceptance and preference from the people throughout the world and if more countries start to accept Bitcoin then it will become bigger and more profitable in contrast to the past performance.

Bitcoin has no comparison with Gold because these two are totally different things, the biggest difference is their existence, people prefer Gold not even diamonds, because it is ancient and their ancestors were into Gold only. I don't know about you but here in Pakistan, in marriages, people give a lot of gold to their brides. Not everyone but the ones who can afford prefer Gold over diamond. So Gold is most demand in compared to Diamond and BTC is far from the list.

I will say BTC has a comparison with Gold when people in Pakistan will be giving BTC to their brides instead of Gold. But the main question is, whether the parents or the bride herself will accept BTC or not. BTC will survive like Gold and it's hard to say if it will be replaced by any other coin, my perspective is it can't be.

Once all the Btc is mined out or close to it(we will all be dead or close to it by that time) we may see a new crypto currency become popular. WHo knows what that might be, whether it's something new or something old.

Every alt coin ever is built and inspired by foundations laid by Bitcoin. Each is an attempt to dethrone the king. However many altcoins there are, that's how many attempts Bitcoin has tried to be replaced.

We consider Bitcoin as the pioneer in the world and market of cryptocurrency and that means all altcoins became possible all because of it...their existence will not be here if not for Bitcoin hence they are just minions in the first place and since this is not a kingdom where the king will surely die I am not seeing the possibility for Bitcoin to be soon replaced not even by Ethereum. With the acceptance that Bitcoin gained by Bitcoin by the mainstream finance world, its influence will only continue to go up. No amount of a challenge can make Bitcoin go down and that is why it is already considered as the digital gold in terms of popularity and value.

It's quite true that something like that may take place in future. Surely when all Bitcoin is mined most of us would no longer be alive in this world but if somehow Bitcoin survives then it would be considered more precious than any other coin by the people of that time. There's chance that by then technology would reach the highest peaks and for that Bitcoin developers have to think and implement new features from time to time.

These are particular qualities that are present in Bitcoin and may indicate that it can become an object of growth in the future due to its limited availability and long-term perspective. Finally, you mentioned that many of us will not be around when all the Bitcoin will be mined, but other generations might consider Bitcoin as a very limited and precious material. That is correct, for the new Bitcoin applications, Bitcoin developers will have to make enhancements to their value proposal for its User scopes in order to remain competitive with the rapidly evolving technology. This could entail embracing advanced technologies such as quantum computing, enhance privacy, and modularity. The its use as a Store of value and as a Medium of exchange can go on transforming with time as is the requirement of different generations, and can actually go on appreciating in value for the next generations.

Very true, Quantum computers can be quite harmful for current Bitcoin technology and in order to combat that the developers have to create advanced algorithms. I believe in next two decades we many have quantum computers available for consumer use and by then developers have to come up with solutions to prevent brute forces that might be done with the help of those quantum computers.

Yes, Quantum computers are like the ultimate superhackers and they could laugh at Bitcoin’s security and hack their way into it. But I guess the devs would also be prepared for ‘em, and I also guess they’re already developing some really top-notch algorithms to guard our assets from those quantum super villains. Oh sure, we will probably have quantum computers in our homes in like 20 years or so and anything beyond that could be insane! But I think by then the devs would have hopefully hacked a way to at least protect our Bitcoin from those brute force ones.

Gold which is currently still buried underground is not like other valuable assets that can be found or created by breaking blocks from mining using machines. Since ancient times, gold has existed and been collected by many kings for their collections, until now the gold has sunk underground and even under the vast ocean where it is very difficult to get it back. But, the minerals used to make gold are not easy to find, which ultimately makes the price of gold very expensive, as is currently the case. Bitcoin and Gold are very different. Bitcoin is one of the most expensive cryptocurrencies.  Almost people in all regions know about Bitcoin.  Bitcoin investors are still brave enough to invest due to the fact that Bitcoin is slowly recovering from history.  Because they know how profitable it is.  But the Bitcoin market is currently dumping but it doesn't seem like it will last much longer.  Because we have seen Bitcoin market fluctuate like this since history.

Fluctuations in value are the nature of every coin. They are always rising and falling. So there is nothing to fear about them. Now that the price is at the dump, it will recover again. A good look at Bitcoin's past shows how volatile it is, and how likely it is to recover. Bitcoin has been up and down since its inception And that's how it got this far. So it assured it will pump big again. And this dumping is another buying opportunity.

That's a great point! One major unique selling point of Bitcoin is that it is relatively liquid; it is easy for anyone with an internet connection and some money to purchase at least a fraction of a Bitcoin. This general accessibility is a major advantage Bitcoin possess compared to other traditional assets as gold, which tend to have large amounts of capital required for purchasing the asset and its storage. The small units in which bitcoin can be subdivided, which is the satoshi show how malleable and accessible it is even for small use and in trading. This has helped in the acceptance of bitcoins across the world and especially in the developing nations where the people have no easy access to other forms of financial mechanisms.

In terms of price, Bitcoin is indeed superior at the moment, unlike gold, but everyone has their own views on which is the best investment. For people who have a high fear of the risk of losing Bitcoin, it might be better to save gold for their investment.

Gold is more of a store of value that BTC, because it tends to retain its value, even in economic crisis; so like you said, some people who want a more stable asset would go with gold. However, with low risk comes low reward, so for people who want to make good returns on investment, they'll go for BTC. The two assets are recommend, and it is better to buy the two of them if you can.

No it is impossible never will happen that. Bitcoin is boss of all cryptocurrency. There has no any compitator. Marketcap, volume, usability everything incomparable. So there has no any chance to replace by any other crypto. Bitcoin is first cryptocurrency in this market. And all other crypto created by following Bitcoin. So Bitcoin will be more acceptable day by day.

The problem that altcoins have is that they do not have any usefulness, just pump and dump; so many times in this industry we've heard many altcoin project devs call their coins 'the next BTC', but so many of those coins have failed and are no longer in the market. The reason is that they never had utility, only hype, BTC is useful and that is why it can never fail, people would always need it for one thing or the other.

Bitcoin can't be replaced by any crypto coin, Bitcoin is what has been given other coin Hope and is like the head of cryptocurrency without Bitcoin there will be no cryptocurrency development, Bitcoin is the only coin that is accepted in many countries and with the long term growth and impact it has made for years now.
Bitcoin is a decentralized coin and can't be affected by any government policy or war, I don't think any coin will grow more than Bitcoin they will always be under Bitcoin.
Bitcoin will always remain the best in the world.

When you talk about being replaced by other investment, sure other better investment will come which could be better than Bitcoin investment, who will ever imagine 20 years back from now that an investment like Bitcoin will come in place and become one of the best investment in the world right now, as time goes on other investment will come which may be more better.
However the only investment that can replace Bitcoin is an investment that can accommodate the poor and can be done anywhere in the world without any government policy accepting it.
But one should not wait for any investment coming in the future is better you engage in Bitcoin now since it's a good investment and since it has not reached half of it's growth.

This is not possible becasue the BTC is the top coin in the crypto market and this time we know that the market will just run the BTC and if the BTC will go high all the coins will move on and if the BTC will comes down all the coins will comes down. Crypto is the best market in the world and this is the future.

In terms of bitcoin surviving like gold, I don't think it will. But for bitcoin replacement, I don't think, there's any found worthy coin that will take its position as king of crypto.

Gold was first discovered in 2450 BC before humanity thought of the birth of Satoshi, who invented Bitcoin. on that note, Gold is well-known compared to Bitcoin. However, we don't know what the future will be after all the 21 million bitcoin have been halved and what follows next in the upper years, like to say 10-20 years

No it is impossible never will happen that. Bitcoin is boss of all cryptocurrency.

I always find it laughable that when a new altcoin is claiming to be the next big thing in the world of cryptocurrency and will soon be replacing or at least at par with Bitcoin, it would soon be sinking into the ground never to be seen again or just a floating garbage in the sea of so many. As of now, I see no other crypto platform that will replace Bitcoin and it can be so true for the next 10 years. Even Ethereum which is the number two in terms of popularity and marketcap, I don't think it would ever overtake Bitcoin in many aspects. We are in the industry where hypes and exaggerations are quite normal...sometimes this approach can be clouding our judgement and can lead us to nowhere.

From the cryptocurrency world, it seems that I don't see altcoins as a serious threat to Bitcoin's existence... but I'm more worried if something new emerges from another realm (not from cryptocurrency)... according to my friends here, what innovations can Bitcoin create in the future? Of course, it makes it a concern for us if it turns out that Bitcoin has to get stuck or can't grow anymore... considering that the current era is very dynamic so everything in this world must also adjust to the era.

For now we can't tell and it impossible for anyone to really give a good insight on the matter, as we may have it, there is know digital currency that can withstand Bitcoin in terms of everything for now, for me I think we should be talking in terms of digital currency unless you are asking your question in context, Bitcoin is a digital asset that has future potentials, since the creation of Bitcoin no other crypto has ever been created to match up with it although we can't really say for the future but the continues modifications being made on Bitcoin, I don't think there will be any other coin that can compete with it, generally if it is other asset I don't know because time will tell, am always careful to argue in this context because their is a serious revolution going on globally in terms of investment, so there is possibility of anything but for now Bitcoin is the master.

Criticizing Bitcoin's speed and limitations was very common during 2017-ICO boom when new L1 blockchain projects were introduced. Teams tried to convince users that these new blockchains had higher speeds, lower fees, and would definitely be more successful than Bitcoin. They didn't even fully understand the value of Bitcoin, so they criticized it instead of affirming Bitcoin's value and then finding ways to promote their own projects.

As you said, many blockchains in the market are very strong, very fast, and very cheap, but it's difficult for any project to continue to exist and thrive without Bitcoin's media support. In the next few decades, Bitcoin will continue to be the crypto king and play a leading role in driving the development of this new market.

Bitcoin is one of the best investment in the world right now and the best crypto coin in the world also, Bitcoin is the first crypto coin that was created and it has been doing very well in it's growth, I don't think any other crypto coin will be bigger or better than Bitcoin, I know some people feel Bitcoin will not grow more than it is now or Bitcoin will fall one day and will never rise again, all this are not true, if you go through the history of Bitcoin you will know Bitcoin will not fall and that it will keep growing bigger and better.

Other coins that are been created is even controlled by Bitcoin if there's a dip in Bitcoin it always affect other coins, when you talk about having peace of mind investment then the best for that is Bitcoin, a lot of people has lost there money in cryptocurrency investment and those that lost there money lost it in investing on new coins and that record alone has always given Bitcoin a big edge over the coins.
No new coin can ever take the place of Bitcoin as the best and biggest crypto coin in the world, a lot of countries has already accepted Bitcoin as a form of payment.
Bitcoin will remain the best.

It's those who don't understand the concept of bitcoin creation, would like to put up the argument that Bitcoin would someday be replaced by a new coin. If you ask them how possible it will be, they will answer that nothing remains on top forever without being replaced. So, the new coin that will have Bitcoin replaced is it the one under the control of someone, or does it not fall under Bitcoin price movement? Because so long as the crypto market is concerned, every coin exists under Bitcoin, not above Bitcoin

Every coin is under bitcoin, not above bitcoin because bitcoin is the king of crypto currency.  I never thought whether there would be a replacement coin for bitcoin, because currently bitcoin is still strong for the next five or ten years.  But maybe there will be a coin that replaces bitcoin with no one controlling the same as bitcoin.  Because if there is a coin that can be controlled and tries to compete with bitcoin, I'm not sure it can replace bitcoin.

It's been 15 years since Bitcoin first appeared on the market, and I don't think people understand that Bitcoin will grow like this. If you check coinmarketcap, there are 2.4 Million + Cryptos, and only 10000 are listed on their website. What happened to the rest of them? Some of those never managed to get listed on an exchange, some were created to scam people, and some lost their value over time.

Bitcoin is not the only currency with good decentralization. There are a couple more, but, since Bitcoin is the first one its dominance is still 56%. I don't see any coin, token taking over Bitcoin in the upcoming decades. But, we never know what is going to happen.

I'm waiting for that coin that will have the same liquidity Bitcoin is having today, even Ethereum wouldn't dream of coming close to Bitcoin right now where it's staying because almost all institutional investors that you can think of today that have investments in crypto have their main investments in Bitcoin, they will pick Bitcoin before they pick any other choice of coins.

Everything about Bitcoin looks like old tech but the tech is the only one that has prove to be immutable and resistance to all kind of attack many altcoins see today. Instead of hackers to try to manipulate Bitcoin, they will rather hack a person holding the Bitcoin because they know it's easy to scam someone than for them to try to hack Bitcoin network, that is if it's even possible in the first place.

Once upon a time though, Ethereum almost made a run against Bitcoin. I remember it vividly way back in 2018 when we are in the bearish market but there are some entities putting Ethereum to the top. But Bitcoin as it is very resilient stood that challenge and then there was no question as who is the top 1 crypto ever since.

Everything about Bitcoin looks like old tech but the tech is the only one that has prove to be immutable and resistance to all kind of attack many altcoins see today. And as much as it looks old tech, but with how Satoshi designed it, no doubt that it is resistant to any attack. Even if there are someone who are going to attempt it, might cause him a lot of money. The uptime of Bitcoin blockchain is 99.99% since it's inception and I do not think that any altcoin can match that.

In that aspect gold has come to stay and again it's a physical asset which we can see, touch and handle, gold can not be compared with bitcoin because even in their existence gold has been recognised worldwide while Bitcoin just have few recognition in some places.

Regarding the replacement of bitcoin I found this question very difficult to answer but Bitcoin have the smallest total supply compared to any other crypto that why it values keep increasing everyday, but if Bitcoin can be replace it will take a longer time to happen.

I read many of the comments above, there are those who predict that Bitcoin will replace gold in the future but there are those who disagree, gold still has its own place as a real asset. Maybe it's also true that people say Bitcoin is digital gold, some people call it that. But it's better to have both if you have a lot of money.

This may not be possible because they are not the same thing why because bitcoin is not physical properties neither does one hold them as an element to be put on the body. Like I said before, gold is mainly for beautifications while bitcoin is not at some point you don't need energy to pushed gold from the store but you need energy to push bitcoin from the exchange this alone made not coexisting together but however, digital gold can be tradable except you are going for that then fine.

Not a bitcoin hater, infact, I hold a good amount of my crypto portfolio in bitcoin, but the truth of the matter is that, there are several crypto projects today; that are way way better than bitcoin in terms of technology, scalability and all that, but bitcoin is still way ahead due to its acceptance level, usage level, and also supported by its first-mover rank.

In other words, this is to say that some Altcoins may come up with really great products, but it will ultimately be difficult any to ever come close to replacing bitcoin, or taking bitcoin's place in terms of marketcap, bitcoin has gained the popularity and acceptance to make it stay ahead of all cryptocurrencies for generations to come, except something significant goes wrong with the network.

Your opinion suggests that you are positive about the future of Bitcoin.  Bitcoin's security, stability, and its status as the first cryptocurrency put it in a strong position compared to other cryptos.  Due to Bitcoin's scarcity (supply) and being the largest network, it still has the power to hold the top spot in the crypto market.
While many prefer PoS (Proof of Stake) or other methods, Bitcoin's PoW (Proof of Work) model is critical to maintaining its strong network security and stability.  And even if Bitcoin loses the top spot in terms of market cap, it won't lose its market due to the stability and reliability of its network.

Neither gold nor bitcoin can be replaced by anyone, these are 2 assets that will always be considered the most stable and reliable, but to show growth in %, I think that this is quite expected and we are already seeing this, all people also want to get super profits like those who bought bitcoin for $100 and after 3-5 years sold it for $10,000, which is already unrealistic to get by buying bitcoin now, but to get profit from some new daring projects is quite real.

In my opinion have possibility with bitcoin be replace by new one one day later, we can't predicting what happen in the future and how most influence countries giving bad impact to make bitcoin get lower valuable. But for several years later seems difficult behind bitcoin keep increasing to higher price and most influence people investing much money in bitcoin.
Currently still not find any right replacement for bitcoin behind many kinds of digital currency but bitcoin still the best transaction with decentralize and give us most faster transaction of currency than the other. Don't scare for ten years later seems still not any new currency will be replace for bitcoin and seems our investing in bitcoin keep secure.

As I predicted until the next ten years it seems there is no coin that can replace bitcoin, although everything can happen in the crypto world. But until now it seems there is no coin that is as strong as bitcoin. so our chance to hold bitcoin is still long and don't have any worries about bitcoin being worthless, because with limited stock the price of bitcoin will remain expensive.

Gold has its own benefits too if you look deep into it. No way an asset can be valued that much in trillion and withouts it's advantages. Gold is the only asset to ever exist that doesn't have haters, even people in crypto or people that have Bitcoin will gladly accepted it if given and the same way Bitcoin will be gladly accepted by Gold lovers.

What I just observed between these two is that each of their holders are given credit to their investment and they will say their own side of the story to favour their investment. Look at Warren Buffet for instance, he doesn't says good about Bitcoin because he wasn't lucky to buy it when they were low. If he had the advantage, he will never give up on Bitcoin.

Gold is a good investment for the older generation, but bitcoin is a good crypto asset for the younger generation. Although gold has no haters, I see the younger generation preferring volatile bitcoin because they want greater returns than gold. Every generation has different understandings and desires, that's my opinion.

Because, Bitcoin is completely dependent on technology. I don't think the technology is very likely to be destroyed.

Another we saw that gold is also a very prefer for some people. But if we compared in bitcoin or gold, i told that bitcoin is also most prefer for us. So i believe that bitcoin is the best strong crypto in cryptocurrency world and which is familiar in the World, so replacement in new one is not prefer for crypto market.

Bitcoin being replaced someday is one of the impossible things to highly think of. Thinking about the unique features that surround Bitcoin, it can be impossible for any coin to be launched and have the minds of global investors fully trust it like Bitcoin.

There are other existing top coins; what we can think of is for new coins to have them replaced in the future. We should think about the possibilities of those top coins to be replaced not Bitcoin which is being decentralized and has a limited supply (21million}

It seems that in the next ten years, bitcoin will not be replaced by other top coins. If we look at the top coins currently, they do not have the popularity and trust of investors like bitcoin. But anything can happen in the future, although currently there are no coins that have the potential to replace bitcoin in the future. I read a lot of member comments about predictions of bitcoin replacement coins, but it seems like there are none yet

we need to understand that bitcoin was not built in one night it wasn’t successful immediately and until now it is still on its way to soar bitcoin basically had a 14 year head start and a lot of projects would need to catch up to that which would be very difficult

bitcoin is definitely here to stay no matter how much new advancements get launched i think bitcoin has cemented its name to the world already in the future us who already knows about bitcoin and is holding bitcoin certainly will reap many rewards

For now, no one has thought about the future of Bitcoin's replacement, because if we compare all the coins that come from the cryptocurrency ecosystem, Bitcoin is indeed unmatched... in the future we don't know yet, whether there is something that will succeed in becoming the next level of bitcoin or not...

As we know, technology is always being updated and updated. So, it could be that in the future there will be something that is more threatening to the existence of Bitcoin that does not come from the cryptocurrency ecosystem.. we don't know before that time actually arrives.

How long we want to invest will certainly produce different answers because I am sure that everyone's financial condition is also different so that it will make each person decide how long they will invest. Bitcoin was initially not liked by many people because the price was still cheap and few accepted payments using Bitcoin until finally along with the development of technology, Bitcoin became one of the digital currencies that many people liked and Bitcoin enthusiasts also increased sharply. So Bitcoin is indeed very suitable if used as a long-term investment.

You can't be completely sure of something 5 years in advance, this is mostly simple self-hypnosis and not some kind of analytical calculation, in 5 years Bitcoin may cost even 100 times less than it costs now, it can't always dominate the entire market, and this is actually very bad for the entire crypto industry that there is some 1 asset in which half of all the money, only because of this many do not want to invest in cryptocurrency, Cryptocurrency is not = Bitcoin, on the contrary, I do not believe in its constant growth and next year I see and believe that only meme tokens will bring profit and grow.

Even if anything can happen in the future, then we might want to take a sit and really think of what might possibly go wrong that will make an altcoin to overtake Bitcoin, which I think there is none from my own reasoning. Bitcoin compared to the others is very much clear. The difference in market cap, price, trust, investors, adoptions, etc, is very much clear. Bitcoin is far ahead of them in terms of those things I just mentioned, though technological wise is quite different.

Is Bitcoin able to survive like gold??? Or will it soon be replaced with a new one?

If I understand this correctly, you are asking if a new form of money can replace Bitcoin entirely?.

Well, Bitcoin happens to be a digital currency, and hasn't replaced the fiat currency in this present day. Bitcoin is existing independently as it's own form of technology(cryptocurrency), which I think there won't be any other form of technology that might surpass it as long as cryptocurrency is concerned. But there will surely be other inventions in the future that might want to compete with Bitcoin, but those inventions won't come from cryptocurrency.

It might possibly survive like gold, but I am not too sure of this, since technology keeps advancing everyday, and humans keeps adapting to such technology at the same rate. Remember that Bitcoin is more of a technology, while gold is different, so their years of existence might differ.

Firstly let me answer the question on the topic of this thread which says ; will Bitcoin be replaced by a new one someday?. My answer is a big NO.
Now of course we are in the crypto space and of course there is always an infinitesimal chance that any coin including bitcoin could lose value or be replaced someday. However for the case of bitcoin the chances are so thin that it's safe to say it isn't happening. bitcoin has gained too much of an adoption to be kicked off all of a sudden from the crypto space.
Coupled with the fact that it's the highest crypto currency in the ecosystem, bitcoin investors and whales won't just wake up one day and decide to shift all Thier coins to some random altcoin. The chances of it happening is just too thin.

Bitcoin is that coin that will never get a replacement and you know why? That's because most of the coins that were created after Bitcoin were rubbish. I have seen some developers launch a coin and because they want to have the trust of the community, they decided to disappear like Satoshi but non of them has done something good like Bitcoin.

I remember Shiba founder having similar name like Satoshi announcing that he has left the project for the community just to gain their trust and make it bullish but I guess the meme is meme and they dump, they haven't achieved all time high since the last one they did unlike Bitcoin that has even tried a little bit.

Bitcoin is not the best coin, Bitcoin is a popular coin.
Nobody knows Satoshi and it could be the special services of countries that made Bitcoin not for people but for their own selfish purposes.
And if you look into cryptocurrencies in more detail, then if you take trading, then trading with only one Bitcoin will not bring you either stability or good profit, and about investing in Bitcoin, you can say that, for example, having bought it 3 years ago at the peak of the price, you will sit with it and today in the minus.

Bitcoin is not managed from a central central authority. It is a fully decentralized platform. If any particular group wants to influence Bitcoin they will never be able to do so. Which is why I believe there is no chance that Bitcoin will ever be replaced by anything else. Moreover, the value of Bitcoin is increasing with the time. As a result, Bitcoin will become more valuable in the future. We know that many things change with the change of era but we can't think of anything else when it comes to Bitcoin. Many altcoins have hit the market since the discovery of Bitcoin, but none have taken Bitcoin's place and will never replace it.

It seems that we have not seen any coin that can replace bitcoin even though many new altcoins that many people think can be bitcoin competitors, but the fact is that bitcoin is still the king of crypto currency and has not been replaced until now.
I also see many good projects today but the popularity of bitcoin remains number one in crypto. and this will probably last for the next 10 years, that's what will happen. Bitcoin will be more expensive with the decentralization of the system and always offers financial freedom which is always the reason for bitcoin lovers.

Yes, Bitcoin can be rightfully called the daddy of all crypto coins and it is hard to argue that Satoshi was a total genius to come up with such a system. As it is already mentioned, Bitcoin is the pioneer of the crypto world, and all other coins that appeared after it are considered derivatives. While there are many altcoins that offer some form of innovation, there is still no coin that can be compared to Bitcoin in terms of market dominance and users’ trust. Can take a long time or even no one in the future can occupy the position of Bitcoin in the future.

Many of our advantages in investing in Bitcoin, Bitcoin offers financial freedom with the decentralization of the system, and we see the price of Bitcoin that is increasingly expensive over time and is likely to be more expensive in the future. Even though many altcoins offer technology that is better than bitcoin but the position of Bitcoin as a king has not been replaced and it seems that there is no coin that has popularity exceeding bitcoin, this is very difficult there is Altcoin that can replace Bitcoin, because it seems like it is impossible.
And I'm sure satehosi is a genius because it has created a bitcoin that brings many benefits to us

This is something that is uncertain just like how the price of bitcoin is uncertained and we don’t know how long it will take for it to reach some particular price. The bitcoin market has had a lot of dominance and gained a lot of attention from its users globally. We can’t say for sure if there will be something better than bitcoin in terms of financial freedom and a trusted investable asset for the long term. We never knew the banks will today have a competitor that offers some unique characteristics better than them, but when they came, they were embraced. We may see something new coming again but I don’t think it’ll be anytime soon. It will take a long time from now for it to happen as people are already focused on this and want to see how it propagates further.

I don't know how many people thought that Bitcoin Cash would be the "new" Bicoin, but I hope there were very few people who actually believed in something like that. Bitcoin forks only serve to attract new money in the form of investment, trying to convince people that the team launching the new fork is in possession of Satoshi's true authority and vision. Personally, I think that all those forks are worthless, and the truth is that there are many.

Wherever there is a central management of a huge amount of emission and a team that (supposedly promotes this project) that absorbs a huge budget for promotion will never replace bitcoin, I believe that only stablecoins can do this, but now there are some problems with them regarding the liquidity of these stablecoins, as soon as they solve this problem and remove the over-enrichment, only then will this coin be able to replace bitcoin.

Well, stablecoins have great potential in providing the stability needed by the market, especially in daily transactions. But what is interesting is how Bitcoin remains a symbol of pure decentralization, something that stablecoins struggle to match due to their attachment to real-world assets and centralized management. The challenge is to create a balance between liquidity and decentralization, two things that have not been fully realized in stablecoins so far.

The popularity of stablecoins will never be able to compete with bitcoin because stable coins are only used in transactions and to save assets when the market is about to experience a sharp correction. Investors who are always looking for profit from their investments will not hold many assets in stable coins except after the bullish season to prepare to buy coins in the bearish season, almost all investors will prepare UST.

I don't think Bitcoin can ever be replaced by another coin. At least it won't be replaced by another blockchain based coin. We are oblivious to everything that is to come.

I completely agree with you, but at that moment I personally did not know what future awaited us. Now we see that all forums are useless, and most of course sold their Bitcoin Cash, but then it was quite logical to think that cryptocurrency is technology, which means old technologies should become a thing of the past, and new ones should take their place.

And is it possible to solve them somehow? I haven’t asked myself this question yet, if you think about it, then simply no one needs it, I mean that, for example, Bitcoin was somehow written and that’s it and nothing else was done, but with stablecoins, a lot of different manipulations will have to be done and an infusion of huge amounts of capital, if you have a different opinion on this matter, then write, let’s discuss it.

Bitcoin is not going anywhere because it has already passed the test of photos. For example, Bitcoin Cash is already in the trash, but it was the most hyped and promising. Therefore, time has shown that there is Bitcoin and only it. It cannot be displaced.

Agreed, With the progression of the crypto world we can only observe that the possible of the blockchain technology is endless, new projects are being created. Although many would like to bring other solutions, Bitcoin still remains a leader and an icon in this world of digital systems. Peculiarities of the support from the global community and integration with the largest financial organizations also contribute to the confirmation of this thought, despite other technologies are more developed and can be oriented to specific options.

Wikipedia only list very few fork, which create new coin. But according to https://forkdrop.io/list-of-bitcoin-forks (https://forkdrop.io/list-of-bitcoin-forks), there are at least 105 of such forks where only few worth to be claimed and sold.

You're right, but of those 105 forks, Wikipedia lists those that have had the most popularity and "acceptance" by the crypto community. Thinking about it, creating a fork doesn't require much time or knowledge nowadays, the really difficult thing is getting the community to accept it depending on the vision (which is quite difficult) of the fork. Personally I don't care about the forks that have appeared or those that may appear in the future, since everyone has the same objective without contributing too much, money. There is only one Bitcoin and we all know very well which one it is.

Bitcoin is quite uncomplicated in terms of function; it’s intended to act as a mean of exchange which has a fixed model and little flexibility. Stablecoins are somewhat more complicated as they must remain pegged to another asset like the US dollar, which therefore employs different mechanisms to manage volatilities and anchors.

They are usually influenced through large capital inflows, and also through tightly maintaining the reserves in order to keep the prices stable. It can also include activities such as arbitrage, in which assets are switched from the stablecoin and another commodity in a bid to sustain a fixed exchange rate for a preferred value. Unlike Bitcoin that is based on the pure ideas of decentralization and market forces, stablecoins need extra layers to provide the desired stability of their prices. Therefore, in this case, the need for various forms of capital manipulations and management is even more.

it could be that in the future BTC will be replaced by another more promising coin. If BTC is satisfied with its current position, without updating and adding things that make this coin special
but for now BTC is still above other coins and is still attractive to people people and investors to invest in BTC
because BTC is actually still strong in this position with investors who are already comfortable investing their money through BTC

Bitcoin is still the king of crypto currency even though many altcoin projects are more developed than bitcoin, but their popularity is not as high as bitcoin. People are more familiar with bitcoin than altcoin, that's a fact. so until now big investors still buy bitcoin and trust bitcoin more for their big investments.

This is what we are talking about, that we have Bitcoin and there are stablecoins that maintain a stable price, but the conversation is about replacing Bitcoin with something else, stablecoins simply cannot replace it, because all stablecoins are not decentralized, which means they can only perform the function of stability coins, we need something decentralized and stable, this does not exist yet.

True, and I want to say that cryptocurrencies and blockchain are the world's first solution to bribes and corruption. Look: the government can now allocate money, but under a smart contract it cannot be pocketed by dishonest officials. But only given to service providers or the seller of the desired product. This is brilliant and will change the world.

I agree with that, furthermore I don't think that that is a problem, in fact no currency so far will be able to replace or displace it, because they do not have the antiquity or the history, it is known that Bitcoin has gone through many market cycles and has been there without going away as hype or as a bubble or as anything, a promising new currency will never be equal to or better than bitcoin, because it does not exist, in fact if one comes out with quantum technology at least that is about 20 years old and continues to maintain itself, we can speak with more criteria But so far none.

Yes, until today there is no crypto currency that can shift btcoin even though we don't or what will happen in the next 10 years or 20 years. Because Bitcoin seems to be getting more expensive and stronger and is trusted by many investors. about the technology offered by bitcoin as a pioneer of crypto currency, it is quite safe and we have not seen any gaps to open it even with quantum computers.

You are definitely right . Mathematically there is an infinitesimally small chance  of it happening in the future but currently i will say it pretty much impossible. Like looking at trends, past behaviour, potential and adoption it's obvious that bitcoin is the OG of the crypto space and ecosystem and no coin is going to overtake it any time soon. Bitcoin has the highest adoption , it has the highest market cap and in addition to that its limited supply creates an avenue for scarcity which will also help in price progression and stability.
I think one other important advantage bitcoin has is that the market isn't dependent on a single entity rather all users depending on the amount of coins they HODL.

Is Bitcoin able to survive like gold??? Or will it soon be replaced with a new one?
Yes? Or No? Maybe? Who knows? It might be? Possible?

I mean who knows. Gold managed to survive for a very long time because many have been mining it all throughout the years. Bitcoin on the other hand is being mined for years already and I don't know if it's still profitable for the miner even they're living in a country with low electricity costs but what I believe is that, as long as there will be miners, Bitcoin will stay. Will it be replaced though? It's possible especially with our technology evolving at a rapid pace, there might be a new coin/currency/asset that might perform better than Bitcoin.

One thing's for sure though. As long as Bitcoin is being used by many people around the world, it will not go away. :)

As fas as I know, Bitcoin continue existence may not be known, it has been a spectacular invention as we are now using it for our daily transactions, but the continuing survival of Bitcoin, just like gold, can't be determined by anybody. Bitcoin is just 15 years, any idea or thoughts of it's survival will be difficult to know.
in addition, Bitcoin is the first digital currency and control the entire crypto markets, I don't think there may be any currency that is able to replace Bitcoin now or in near future. Btc remains the Dominant force on the crypto space, and very limited in supply.

That's true, and I think we can never rule out Bitcoin being replaced. Ordinals were a nightmare and this kind of non-working behavior of the network definitely doesn't speak in favor of Bitcoin. Maybe there will be a Bitcoin 2.0, which will be better, because we can't be on the same technology for decades...

Correct. Although there are other coins/projects with better technology and usage options that Bitcoin does not have, Bitcoin will not be replaced by any of them. Bitcoin is the first, it is the idea on which the entire cryptocurrency ecosystem as we know it today was based. Before asking ourselves if Bitcoin could be replaced, we should ask ourselves if all Bitcoin investors and holders would be willing to change their investment. The answer would be a very resounding no.

If there is no doubt about that, in particular we now veto much more information about quantum platforms, I am sure of that, since the security of btc is quite strong and very good, in this case much has been said about this, but until now if quantum technology comes out it is not at all as powerful as we think, things are much more about going step by step, because it is like the first generation that came out of MARK-1, so in that way quantum computers will come out, then they will not be so advanced until about 5-10 years after the first one is launched, that is how I think it will be.

And this will always remain so , it is a fact that things with Bitcoin are on another level, I do not think that another currency is going to equal BTC, because BTC has been around for a long time and has its history, it has fulfilled many stages of the market and that is the good thing, the best of all is that every time we think about Bitcoin there will always be enemies of Bitcoin who will want to make it seem that Bitcoin is a currency that will be a hype or a bubble , but no, the difference is that if a currency wants to equal Bitcoin it would have to be at least as old as BTC and so far no Type of currency can match it.

Although newer blockchains offer higher speeds, current technology, and more utilities, they still lack the values that only BTC possesses: decentralization, management independence, popularity, and acceptance in the economy. That's why many blockchains may have more users than Bitcoin, but their native tokens cannot replace BTC in this market.

We once hoped that ETH, LTC, or BCH could replace BTC with smart contracts, high speed, and large block size, but this has not become a reality. BTC will still exist and lead the crypto market through many more seasons.
