The blast network just released and it was a total letdown. I've done very few farming on it but still managed to get 180 GOLD from DistrictOne and a few other projects.
Most people were saying a minimum of $5 per gold was expected in the most bearish scenario. Turns out it's worth less than $2 and going down by the minute. :-X
Is farming airdrops over? Seems like it's too mainstream now and there are groups farming it in a systematical way.
Did you also farm blast?

The worst is yet to come, but there is a remaining 33% that will be distributed later, and wallets classified within the top 1,000 will not be able to sell tokens during the next 6 months, which means that the current price is supposed to be the highest price for this currency, as the coming months will witness a greater distribution of liquidity and a greater capacity for good wallets to spend what they have.

Did you also farm blast?
Like you, I also farmed the Blast airdrop and I only spent like a hundred dollars to just bridge, and also did the multiplier part as well. Aside from that, I also used different Dapps on their platform just to earn Blast Gold. My expectations are low since many joined the airdrop, but I wasn't expected that I will be getting that low enough for me to feel frustrated about the airdrop. I got less than 5$ which is a total letdown.
I've been into airdrops this year, if there's one pattern that I'm seeing, it's the expectation of us airdrop farmers. I guess we have a high expectation towards these projects, and we expect that they will give us like 3-digit or 4-digit airdrop like what happened with JTO in Solana and TIA in Cosmos. It's not only the point airdrops that are over I believe, but airdrop farming as a whole. For me, it wasn't worth, and for us to get a huge amount, we must need to invest a huge amount as well which is kind of reasonable, I guess.
For this 2nd half of 2024, I will not join in any airdrop anymore aside from those airdrops that will make us eligible if we will hold a certain token (like DYM in TIA). As for the Blast, can I ask if there's any way that we can just stake our BLAST tokens like what MODE is doing?

Not officially, but there are already a few projects who let you deposit BLAST to earn some APR. While it's low right now (i.e only 0.83% apr at Wasabi), it will probably increase as more opportunities arrive.
Btw, season 2 started and I heard it will last 1 year+.

The airdrop season looks like its over, atleast the giveaways wich had been sucess over the year along with meme season. To be honest i still dont figure it out how they were priting soo many milions from the air, it was expected to this to end fast, despite some airdrops still make the party not over yet, but its going to end soon. Base had started the boom airdrop farming, the new tokens, memes liquidity is mooving around always.

I received two good airdrops and the others were medium/bad, but I recognize that I was late for some and lacked money to invest in others
If most people give up now, it might be a good idea to continue farming as there will be fewer competitors, but the big farmers will certainly continue
in Blast I invested 1k USD, activated all multipliers, stake some ETH in Thruster, participate in some apps, and I only received 35 USD in BLAST :P
Now I'm trying to find one or two projets to invest, do you know any?

All similar projects where you can mine free coins at the start of sales show a very strong drawdown if you do not have time to sell these coins at a good price, then you will have to wait several months for the price to grow to the desired one and so that you can sell the coins at a normal price.

Take a look at my latest airdrop, now from Renzo ::):
(https://i.ibb.co/FKC1Mrg/Sem-t-tulo.png) (https://imgbb.com/)
It was practically the same value I got from Blast, another weak airdrop for me
This was Renzo's second season, and I was farming from Blast's network (via Thruster) and Arbitrum too (Zerolend)
I've converted most of my ezETH to weETH from Etherfi, let's see if I can get better value, at least 100 dollars for the third season

I don't think there will be an end, but the amount of money being airdropped will be less. I think the developers are finding ways to minimize but still give value to the users or something.
Some of my P2A games have really downgraded from my previous experience :(

I want to add that airdrops are just starting this year and will continue for at least another year, but it is worth understanding which airdrops to participate in. At the moment, the leaders are all projects from Telegram and Blockchain Ton that are promoting this topic very professionally and are gaining millions of users in Telegram and Blockchain Ton, so participate, but carefully watch who is behind all this.
-
I had always skeptical that most of these Airdrops, play to earn, TAP TAP game or farming airdrops was just some form of hype to draw people interests. They will always vanish after some time. Farming airdrops tokens are very risky and I don't engage on them.
If you want to earn through farming with airdrops tokens, I think it not profitable to farm with any native token because price can dump and may never recover in a very long time to come. I like farming with usdt if the option is available otherwise I don't do farming.

The practice of Airdrop is not that recent, but it has gained a lot of prominence this year, mainly because of the Airdrops by Arbitrum and Jito, which gave away a large amount of tokens with a reasonably small effort
After that, everyone became interested and the market became very diluted

The main reason for airdropping tokens is to reward users who arrived first on a given service/network/protocol/birdge and those who participated the most
Some services may do other things like referrals or social tasks, but the core of an airdrop is to reward loyal users with governance tokens
And yes, services take advantage of the possibility of airdropping to gain more users

As for farming airdrops, it seems like they will continue to exist because a project needs a community and a large community is usually generated from Airdrops. If a cryptocurrency project has no community, it will become a Dead Coin, with no one supporting it. CMIIW

No,I don't farm blast and this is the first time I've heard about the Blast project. Btw, is Blast a main coin project? What is the purpose of the BLAST project?

The practice of airdrops appeared almost 10 years ago, you just recently found out about it, and when you pointed out some unknown to me project Jito, it immediately became clear to me that you are a newbie in cryptocurrency, I think cryptocurrency will not disappoint you, the main thing is not to chase super profits and read more.

Yeah, projects needs a community to survive and one of the fastest ways to build is through airdrops. The qualification and distribution have changed over the years as more and more newbies looking for free crypto. Founders and developers, on the other hand, tries to impose stricter rules to give their tokens to the deserving and limit the number of participants.

A strong and big community can be helping the project a lot to be successful in the crypto marketplace but if there is going to be an airdrop program it would be easy to assume that participants will be getting so LESS than what they deserve according to their effort, time and even some money invested. This is the big reason why many are now assessing if airdrop participation can just be a big waste of time and many will soon wake up saying a big NO to airdrops...and I can already see it happening now. When you get less than expected, the price of the coin is not soaring and even going down and then you are tied as to when to be able to sell...these can be the reasons to get sour on airdrops. The same thing happened with the bounty programs before and it is happening again.

As I said before, money drying up, airdop becoming scarce and less than a hodl and let's see action like it was in the past, the ecosystem is filled with people who are actually doing it like a standard job the moment they get paid they dump it because they can't afford to keep it, it's their paycheck.
So in a market that desperately needs capital you have this happening, not the best time for them and with lower returns to the guys developing the coins themselves, it's just adds more pain to the picture.

Plenty of airdrops were highly profitable but it as because they nailed the moment, right during a bull run where everyone was keeping them and waiting for a price increase and not just dumping while money was flowing. Witha far larger userbase right now you won;t be able to drop hundreds of
billions so that each one gets even close to a thousand anymore.
