Wright’s assets were frozen to help podcast host and entrepreneur Peter McCormack, sued by Wright for libel in 2019, recoup roughly 1.5 million British pounds ($1.9 million) in legal fees.

I confess that this is good for the ecosystem. Craig sued a lot of bitcoin developers, which might even discourage people to develop bitcoin.
I think this amount of money is very small for Craig, but this is just one of his many legal battles.
-
I think this is the karma he's been waiting for since he is creating chaos to the Bitcoin community ever since he claim he was the creator of Bitcoin some years ago. I don't think that was enough for the moral damages caused by his greediness.
-
don't you think this is similar to Roger Ver's case? Craig also forked BTC resulted to this BSV while Roger has BCH. i guess their forked coins are also going to be seized.
there are theories that we can come up with this. but maybe this is also the best that happens to them for deceiving the public.
but lets say Craig is really Satoshi and he see this coming years ago that government will eventually freeze his funds and will seize his digital assets. and so the reason he didn't sign the message to wallets assumed to be owned by Satoshi. And then one day, the authorities finally found out where he hid those private keys to the old wallets. are all his coins going to be seized?

This is a good decision made by UK High Court to benefit Peter McCormack to cover up his legal fees when he was sued by Craig Wright...and this is a poetic justice that is already running after Craig Wright for the many misdeeds he had done. Craig Wright knows no bounds in his pursuit to be recognized as the real Satoshi Nakamoto and now that he is already proven to be fake, he has to pay for the damages he caused on other people most especially those he brought to the court. I think he should be purged and must pay $10 million to Peter McCormack just for the hassles he caused and must pay $100 million to the Bitcoin community for his lies and manipulations. I am hoping there can be no other Craig Wright to wreak havoc on other lives now that he is made to pay for his malicious acts.
-
Of course, we read the news in several sites, and everyone is happy with this decision and this end for Craig Wright, who occupied the courts and the Bitcoin community with his nonsense for a long period of time. It is good to freeze his assets, but I think he deserves to be imprisoned as well.
I do not know how many failed cases he has filed against Bitcoin developers, but it is certain that he has a lot of money, enough to cover the fees of all the cases, although I am sure that he hides a lot of the crypto assets he owns, so it would be better if the judge imposed a huge fine on him and put him in prison if he does not. Do.

snip..
It is only the beginning it seems to me as more of such ruling will come against faketoshi. Such imposters should be behind the bars for eternity and every asset that this guy has should be taken away from him. The judiciary should set an example of him as his lies has destroyed many and is still ruining many who are blindly following him. For a short term he acted as if no one can stop him with his fake claims.

I can't help but enjoy this news, mister Craig Wright or mister faketoshi was a crazy pain in the ass.
I honestly can't stand this character, I really dislike him.
Also because if he says he is Satoshi it would be enough for him to sign a message with Satoshi's historical addresses. Which he doesn't do.

It's not the first time ----> Court Freezes $8.4M of Craig Wright's Assets Amid Evading Court Expenses Allegations (https://finance.yahoo.com/news/court-freezes-8-4m-craig-064633979.html)
It appears that he was trying to move some of his assets outside of the U.K.
I hope this is a lesson for everyone who tries to mislead public opinion with false claims.
-
Isn't it ironic though, he claim to be Satoshi, the inventor of Bitcoin and yet his assets can be freezes anytime? LOL. So just imagine that if majority of his assets are into his supposedly creation in Bitcoin, the high court will have a hard time finding those assets, ;D. So now everything is not working on his end and it's very obvious that CW is fake.

Actually BSV is forked from BCH, not BTC. But talking about seizure, do you and other reader know that BSV have feature to confiscate steal coin without knowing the private key/provide unlock script[1]? I haven't read document shared by the court, but imagine if the court give order to seize craig BSV to BSV node/miner ;D .

Yeah, just like BCH is the "true bitcoin ", BSV is the true BCH lol
I am happy all these BTC forks drama ended years ago.

Haha point to be noted although I already heard about it before. He is the creator of BTC and who knows how much he has for him. He will definitely have BSV. I don't think people trading in BSV are trading because they really think he is the real satoshi because they also know it. But these traders are only here for money. The thing is, trader have enough knowledge and they should not have traded in it.
Because it means promoting the cause as well. Overall it is good that court is against him as well. He should be impronsed for his lies as well. Many members also share the same thoughts. He might have assets in BTC but it won't be that hard for court to find them eventually but what will happen when they will get there hands on it.

+1 I didn't think anyone would use BSV or withdrawal it off the platform, but this part proves it's a scam, more than a failed project.

I agree. But i expect those trader couldn't ignore BSV when it's on top 100 on both CMC and CoinGecko until now.

Even if they want to withdraw their BSV to their wallet, it's not easy task. Many BSV wallet either abandoned or not reliable since there are very few BSV node/server.

We are talking about two not very transparent subjects
- Roger Ver (who did inside trading when BCH was listed on coinbase)
- Craig Wright (aka faketoshi, a serial liar)
Years ago I decided to have nothing to do with everything these two shitty characters touch. I gain in respect of myself

He made a good profit by suing Bitcoin developers and podcasters and other influencers promoting and talking about crypto. He made a good fortune with all the fame and made a good profit from BSV and made BTC. $1.9 million is a smaller amount for him he must be sentenced to jail for some time for wasting the time of court to prove himself to be Satoshi. he is not the first person on earth who claims to be what he is not.
The world is full of such people who claim them to be what they are not. They even file for cases in court and try to prove to them what they are. I also think he should be punished more and his BTC should be seized too. Because BTC is the most valuable thing in the current time because a bull run is coming and BTC will make a new all-time high.

As far as the case is concerned, this is good news and the government is taking action that really needs to be done.
The freezing of CSW Assets is a firm action by the British government regarding the claim case which turned out to be mere nonsense and a mess-maker for many years.
Although the total assets of $1.9 million is a small amount for CSW, at least there is decisive action from the government and this is still a start, there may be more assets that will be frozen later.

Not really a small amount for him, otherwise he would've paid his Aussie taxes without a problem early on. And he wouldn't need Calvin Ayre's financial backing for all these lawsuits. BTW, I think even he is jumping off the sinking ship that is CSW. ;D

I don't know, but from the beginning CSW had no intention of paying any taxes, he was a shameless man and continued to create controversy to keep his name mentioned. CSW is no longer a sunken ship but now it is a wreck that cannot be used, all the scenarios no longer work and everyone knows what the purpose of life has been all along.
