Well Trump spoke at Bitcoin 2024 conference, and you have to say, what he was going to tell us was predictable.
Both Trump and Vance promised to get rid of Gary Gensler (but honestly it would be better for all parties if he left by himself).
Trump also made promises about US mining, stablecoins (???), operation Chokepoint 2.0 and that bitcoin reserve thing we've been hearing rumors about.
-
Did he also mention about overturning some taxes, like
- the tax on crypto trading that he put in place when he was president?
- the tax on bitcoin mining gear that again he was the one that raised it?
That Bitcoin fund sounds like the wall, and the promise about Gensler is just as much as how he wowed to send Hillary to jail in 2016.
And there are still some that believe this buffoon!

I think that GG has a mandate until 2026 and that he cannot just be removed from his position - and besides, he is at the head of the same SEC that approved futures and spot ETFs - which did not happen when Trump was president because then Bitcoin was, in his words, "just seems like a scam."
As for Vance, that man scares me personally because I see something very unusual in his eyes that tells me that he has no sincere intentions at all. However, everything that the two of them say sometimes seems like a very bad joke - because judging by what was recently said by Trump, they are planning to abolish democracy in the US ???
“I don't care how, but you have to get out and vote,” Trump told the crowd at Turning Point Action’s Believer’s Summit. “Christians get out and vote. Just this time. You won't have to do it anymore.”
“In four more years, you know what? It’ll be fixed. It’ll be fine. You won't have to vote anymore, my beautiful Christians,” Trump added during his 70-minute long speech. “We'll have it fixed so good. You're not going to have to vote.”
-
Unfortunately for politicians or rather for the people, political speeches are generally segmented to the niche they are directed to... any of their propositions for or against are full of 'volatility', things like favorable regulations and government support are so generic, that they are in search of capturing 'today' voters from our niche, then the promises become just that, promises.
What is feasible, Donald Trump became the first former president of the United States at a Bitcoin conference.
Gary Gensler, You're fired...
What's new here? It's more of the show (sitcom) to fans.
-
I wasn't following the conference but I watched snippets in youtube that Trump didnt mention that Bitcoin Reserve thing. He still is realistic to his promise and didn't promkse that thing. If he promise to fire GG yet there is a contract that Gensler shall stay up to 2026, he is still the president by 2027.
About mining, how is it possible that BTC can only be mined in US? If the other countries like China or Germany can't mine BTC, will it be considered decentralized?

- When that happens, many crypto communities will be happy for sure, that's why gensler is probably praying now. because that gengsler is like a thorn in our deep crypto communities.
But even so, we should always wait to see what Trump can do when he is the sitting President. And probably also in other countries that open cryptocurrency, you will probably adopt it.

In case Trump and Vance will win in the coming November election, I am so sure that Gary Gensler will be required to tender his resgination to pave the way for the next administration come January 20, 2024. This can be one of the many things that the cryptocurrency industry can be asking of Trump to appoint an acceptable head of SEC, one that understands well the industry and is not an antagonist but friendly and cooperative. And that is why, some known figures of the industry are endorsing the Trump team as they know that under Trump there is a big possibility for the industry to flourish and whose voice is being given value, unlike what is happening under the Biden regime and can still happen under Kamala Harris.

I liked how that man dealt with those centralized coins before but until ether that supposed not to have ETF was consider and its ETF was approved.

I hope if Trump is elected as the next United States president, he should only consider bitcoin and not those centralized tokens as part of the reserve.

How? The president can't fire the head of the SEC or the CFTC, he was assigned till 2026 he will serve till 2026, unlike what Trump thinks this is not a dictatorship where the president goes around firing people and assigning ones as he wants. This is the usual bs that Trump says in 100 different colors to get votes from everyone, he picks somebody who is hated by a community and then comes and preaches to those how he will fire and replace him.
We had 4 years of draining the swamp, what did he do? Well, nothing!
-

I also wrote the same in the third post, but it is obvious that some people think that Trump will have absolute power if he becomes president. Given that he announces that people will no longer have to vote after the next election, this suggests that he has in mind to transform the US into a country similar to Russia or North Korea, which is not surprising given how much he values their leaders.

I am impressed how bitcoin price didn't react more aggressively to all declarations made by Trump.
Democrats are desperate, they don't even have an official candidate yet

At a time when the cryptocurrency industry needs easy regulation from the government, Trump is here to seek votes to win the election. Those who are familiar with the campaign period must understand how a person's sincerity can be measured when giving a speech... . I am not a US citizen, but the US presidential election is certainly a very important thing.
I do not easily believe his statement that when he was president on his first day he immediately fired GG ... even though I don't believe it, at least I am quite entertained by his speech that wants to maximize the potential of Bitcoin.
He even touched on the difference in Bitcoin's price increase when Trump was president, where he said that the 3900% increase was something he was proud of compared to after Biden & Harris took office, it only increased by about 50% when adjusted for inflation.
-

You are talking about one of the biggest Trump critics in the Republican camp who has now become Trump's vice president pick. So that kind of explains itself.
Democrats are desperate, they don't even have an official candidate yet
I am wondering why they haven't officially nominated Harris yet. I mean it's obvious that she's the leading face of the party now since you see her all over the news every day. It seems like they only churn out articles about Trump and whoever the DNC thinks is going to be their candidate.

Because the Democrat Convention is on 19-22nd of August?
Even Trump was officially nominated just two weeks ago and those meetings were scheduled a year ago for both parties.

Well, one look at the wall he built if giving a lot of people an idea of how much to bet on his promises.
Remember the Vulcano bond, the Bitcoin city, Salvador becoming the hub for mining, all that stuff???
Now multiply the expectations by 10 and divide the trust by 100! ;D
-
It's also better if they fire him. I think it would be more beneficial because of the ways he has been causing problems for many crypto projects personally. He never sues memecoins but always targets coins with good utilities.

If by any chance you read all the posts in this thread (and there aren't too many), then you would know that the "promise" that he will replace GG is completely unfounded in law - unless Trump establishes a dictatorship and appoints himself as the supreme leader.
-
It's also better if they fire him ~ He never sues memecoins but always targets coins with good utilities.
Can you name a few of those coins with "good utilities" ?
I would be thrilled to hear of a coin other than Bitcoin and maybe ETH that has any actual utility other than being tarded!
I think some really need to take a step back and understand that the SEC is not some crypto institution and that, well, cryptos are a drop in the bucket when it comes to ETF, which are a slice of what the SEC does.
So a bit of a wake-up call:
At year-end 2023, there were 1,872 index-based ETFs—with $7.4 trillion in total net assets—that were registered with the SEC under the Investment Company Act of 1940. ~ Bank of America, Goldman Sachs, and JP Morgan facilitated the most creations and redemptions for ETFs in 2023, collectively accounting for more than half of all ETF creations and redemptions, Bank of America had agreements with more than 2,900 ETFs in 2023
So you're basically going to fire someone who can make 1000 types of pizza because he doesn't want to put don't the same pizza with pineapple and avocado. It's a really big world out there, it's not everything about crypto, and if you're going all zealot who is not with us must be fired you're not better than the previous system.

Gary Gensler still has some months to redeem himself because this is not just a warning but more like a threat to someone who has not dint his job properly for some days now but why is he threatening to sack everything, the same thing he said about CBDC. This might be helpful but I think people knowing this will only slow his chance of winning.
What I think he should be doing is not to say who he is going to sack but what he is going to bring to the table. It seems Gary Gensler must have sent him warning messages after those NFTs he minted on Ethereum chain last year. ;D
-
At this point, I am not going to believe anything that any politicians say, because is just like singing the old version anytime there is an election, campaign promises are easy and drafted just to appease the listener's mind but the real deal will be when they get to the office.
Gary is a federal staff and there is the tenure of office, so evicting him from office due to whatever sentiment won't solve anything, I think Trump should be more focused on removing or reducing crypto taxation in the US to motivate crypto investors.
-
If Gary's staying has elapsed or he is not doing well in the system then he should be gotten fired but though, it should not be a course of action of political sentimental differences.

He can be fired, but I don't see Biden doing that as he is a Presidential nominee. So as far as firing him if Trump's win, then it's the obvious that Trump will have his own SEC chair.
Just to put out though in his term as President, he had Jay Clayton, a SEC chair that goes after Ripple. Trump might have soften his stance on Bitcoin and the rest of the crypto, but he should nominated a SEC chair that knows what crypto is and not file charges or goes on a witch hunt on every projects, just saying.

Trump knows how to play his card right, he will say what people want to hear since he is campaigning to get the nod and the votes of the cryptocurrency community.
These are what the community wants from one of the most powerful person in the world, but its up to the community to decipher if he is really true on all that he is saying, Trump, for all we know, is just deceiving so he can go back to office because he has a jail sentence to serve.
-
Someone just handed out the speech to Trump including that context that the crypto community hates Gary Gensler for the decisions that he has made in the past. Like come on, he's approved the BTC and ETH spot etf and they're not just one applications but a bunch of it. Whoever is the speech writer of Trump needs to be more of the actuality in the crypto market and community and be truthful whether Trump knows a satoshi or not.

he can’t be that stupid to push bitcoin as one of his biggest points in all his campaigns if he at least didn’t know the basics of it
he has a very ambitious plan for bitcoin he wants to make sure that the people he will hire are pro-crypto and that usa will be again ahead of everyone when it comes to crypto he said he wants to make usa the crypto capital of the planet and that he will get it done by implementing regulations in support of crypto

- You know, I was just wondering: how did Gary Geisler feel when Trump said that? Is he nervous? because he obviously sees that the chances are high that Trump will actually win the presidency.
Of course, if I were in GG's situation, it would be a big shame on my part if that happened, because even now it seems like Trump has shown that I am useless as Chairperson of the Sec, and it seems to have such an impact on me.

For sure, he might get nervous about the said announcement, I mean his job on the line here. Nevertheless, he can't do anything about it, I mean he is a nominated position. I mean he was there because Biden has put him in that position. So if ever Trumps win, then he should really step down. Because I think SEC chairman is one position that is tied with the tenure of the President. Maybe he gets nervous in the beginning, but for sure he knows the consequences of being a Presidential nominee. But for us crypto enthusiast, we want a SEC Chair that is lax and tolerant to crypto altcoin projects and that he will really be open minded and not going to go like witch hunting any projects that they deemed illegal.

Yeah because forceful resignation is what can take him out of office before his tenure expirations, since in politics anything can happen, I have read all the of comments that says that Trump can not sack him even if he be the president when his tenure have not expired and the only way to get GG out office is through back door politics that could push GG to tender his resignation before his tenure expirations which is what will likely happens.
Donald Trump have been pronounced about his bitcoin stance lately and he won't want to work with any official that will slow down his bitcoin policy for this last tenure he is seeking for as a US president.

Both Trump and Vance promised to get rid of Gary Gensler (but honestly it would be better for all parties if he left by himself).
After Trump said this, I think Gary Gensler will consider to resign if Trump really becomes the next president. Trump and Vance actually don't need to fire him, he knows if Trump and Vance dislike him. However, I don't really care with the change of Gary Gensler. As long as it will be better for crypto world, I will support Trump. But if Trump changes Gary Gensler with a worse one, it will be a bad sign for crypto in the next few years. I'm just curious if Trump can keep his promise, do you believe in Trump's promise, mate?
-

I think those politicians are used to stuff like that. He probably wasn't eager to work with trump.
And he will get an amazing job paying probably much more in private companies.

Most of those who do politics always take advantage of the surrounding conditions to seek support that can increase support from the community. There has been a lot of information circulating about corruption carried out by the SEC, So this makes the community hate the SEC very much, Even the government from Warren Davidson and Tom Emmer have also prepared several strategies to fire SEC chairman Gary Gensler.

- This is just what I thought, op. How does Gary Geisler feel about that interview with Trump and Vanced? Now, regarding his plan to make Bitcoin reserves in the Treasury, I don't think it will happen yet. We know that Bitcoin is very volatile, and at this point, it will be difficult for him to fulfill this promise.
So, I think this is really just a tactic to get the attention of voters for his own interests. Of course, if he is saying this, it is because of the campaign election period. So, I hope he can fulfill the promises he made so that he will not be destroyed by their voters.
-
Getting rid of Gary Gensler is not a solution to the problems he is causing because did anyone who confirms the next replacement of Gary will not be as strict as him. Therefore we need proper statements that these political leaders are promising us. We all know they will talk good to get votes but now the chances for Trump to win are more because Biden has withdrawn his ticket.
If Gary is replaced by an honest and regulated person then that will be a green light to many businesses that are afraid to start their startups in crypto.
If Trump promises about US mining and stable-coin and I don't know what is Operation Chokepoint 2.0 I heard about it but not coming to my mind now. I liked the Bitcoin Reserve thing most.
-

It's better if he quit himself and find someone who will not be the same as him. What if the replacement to GG is the same as him then it would be the same situation as before and nothing will change. The best solution is to find a good replacement instead of firing GG without thinking about what kind of person will be the next head of sec.
-
I am not from America and I was just waiting for the result of what the current and future events that will bring after the election because I am not that knowledgeable as well on why they do that and what they really are fighting for so yeah much better to just observe and accept the result whether rumors or their plans are getting real or not.

Haha I did not predict that they would fire Gensler I guess know Gensler won't vote for both of them haha. They lost 1 vote now haha. Well, his getting fired might not prove to be a beneficial decision I mean he has been given the authority to sue any platform on a simple or mere case. If any of both when selected takes that authority from Gary then he might not be a pain in the ace anymore.

I have to agree with you because I am also not a US citizen and I am interested in this election just because somehow cryptocurrency has been involved in it too. Competition is not tough, but if there is any candidate don't like crypto and a presidential candidate then I must know that.
