Title: Meet the LN dev who became a "star" at Bitcoin Nashville
Post by: NotATether on August 01, 2024, 08:08:52 AM
Jordi Montes (https://thedefiant.io/news/people/exclusive-with-jordi-montes-the-man-who-delayed-trump-at-bitcoin2024) is a Lightning Network developer and former Lightning Labs employee who was harassed by secret service agents because he came in through an exit door right before Trump's keynote.

As he was being investigated and questioned by the USSS agents who were there and were even looking to make sure there were no bombs he hid anywhere, he even tried orange-pilling them about Bitcoin - you know, they were at the Bitcoin conference.

Anyhow, after that, he got Twitter-famous (if that's even a word anymore).

not really surprised that trump’s team were extra strict considering the failed assassination attempt on trump on one of his public appearances politicians get all kinds of threats and a lot of them come true in life

it doesn’t matter if you don’t exactly look threatening or if you are an important figure, a security team has to check you and your intentions

Anyhow, after that, he got Twitter-famous (if that's even a word anymore).
we can say x famous not sure if it rings the same as twitter famous

curious, why did he become an internet sensation?

curious, why did he become an internet sensation?

Because the PA speaker was announcing for him to step outside before Trump even arrived at the conference to start talking. So everybody there knew who he was right at the beginning.

Also he tried orange-pilling the agents as I wrote above, so people were inscribing Runes of him and calling him "the most non compliant man in Bitcoin" and stuff like that.

I guess this is example of "15 minutes of fame" phrase. Anyway, the fact he bring lots of cash further emphasize that some Bitcoiner prefer cash.

One, the man created his own history with what happened. Two, nothing untowards happened to Trump or anyone else and things went well as they should be. Three, the man was bringing cash all because the world is still into it and he is holding his BTC for specualtive reason and is not spending BTC foir some cup of coffee. Fourth, he got his some minutes of fame and he went home with a title of his own. What a life!

He definitely became a star because I did not know his name before and now after knowing this story I won't forget it and I am sure that Trump will also not forget the dev of LN (Montes). I hope this will be a good start for their upcoming friendship haha. As coincidences make friendships and enemies both. BTW thanks for sharing this event with us. I am thinking how he made the mistake of entering from an exit news said he wanted to meet a former dev of LN and in that essence, he made re-entry from the exit.

I wonder how this can be a security issue although the agencies are on high alert after the last event of firing which was a tragedy. Maybe that's why they are not even giving a small loose.

It is a strategy of putting more assets on the table and thus the total value of the network which makes proof-of-stake (PoS) validators make the network more secure and can be found in Ethereum and Solana.
What are you saying? Is this post meant to be posted here, I think you mistakenly posted it here.

Now you see me, brother! TBH he can post whatever he likes, as you know this is Trump's democratic era, you should acknowledge his rights dude, anyway jokes aside. Hmm from the image looking like this is a mistaken post as there's no qoute.

Very OK if he uses the exit door to gain entrance if he has been locked out from the main door, I like the guy balls to pass the message about bitcoin to the federal agents on duties, really I don't think any harassment for the sake of being in such bitcoin event, by an enthusiastic bitcoin dev like Nashville is worth the sacrifice.

But still all good that he gained more fam on twitter from that incident and with the bitcoin hero badge, let see what comes out from all the positivity around Trump political staging of bitcoin in this election.

How to say that people who carry a lot of cash are bitcoiners, because as we know and in fact, bitcoiners rarely carry large amounts of cash.

I know he can post anywhere I mentioned him because I believe he posted that reply in the wrong place and he needs to know that. By mentioning he must get the notification and see he edited the post. Which indicates it was a mistake and correction has been done. Yeah, the image and the post content were not related to the OP's post. Well, the matter is closed as the correction has been made.

American journalist Dave Troy submitted a request to the FBI regarding the identity of Satoshi Nakamoto, the main one:

1. The FBI responded that they could neither confirm nor deny the existence of records about it.

2. The journalist chose the form for “entities”, but the FBI's response refers to Nakamoto as a person, not an organization.

3. The BTC creator was likely a third party in no way connected to the FBI.

Troy said he plans to appeal the response in court to get more specifics.

Just gone through the whole story and I must say that it's actually very interesting to read, thanks anyway for sharing.

Funny at times how little and meaningless things can be the catalyst to a man's over night fame. Becoming Twitter famous is definitely a thing this day, specially now that alot of people are making cool cash from Twitter on monthly basis from ad revenues - oh sorry, I used "Twitter" instead of "X", I believe I am not the only one who's not been able to get over the use of "Twitter" in sentences 😂

Anyways, I know I can Google this and get the meaning right away, but I choose to ask it here since we are already here - Whats the meaning of Orange-pill? , as in Orange-pilling someone, I don't get this part, and thanks to who ever answers..
